I think people will always associate her with Dae Jang Geum. Watching the series right now and I am enjoying it very much. All the actors are great to watch. Looking forward to her next project. She will probably choose wisely since she don't want a disappointment.

Good for her and got brain too. One of my former colleagues told me before he retired that his wife met her in Vienna, and they have tested her out and were very impressed with her command of German language.

I always thought if someone would make a hit film, they would try to make more films/movies while their popularity is still high. But they always disapear.

I like how she tastefully picks her projects. Makes her seem more elegant, and more of a thoughtful person than those other actors who jump from project to project. Good for fan service I guess, but building up into a forte is better than being monotonous.

I'm so glad she's not one of those actors that capitalizes on their fame and tries to make a lot of money from it.

I admire her goal of higher education and focusing on her own self growth as a person.

I'm sure her next project, if she so chooses, will be tasteful, thoughtful and intelligent, just like her.

German is quite difficult language indeed! Go for it while you have a good time to study Ms LYA! It will take a few years to finish the PhD and no need for her to make a total stop from acting. Best of luck for your further studies.

Is it mean that when Dae Jang Geum II (the sequel, which is still in planning) will be aired she won't be in that drama ? I love her in that drama. Dae Jang Geum II won't be the same without her."sigh". Oh well I guess I have to wait till she finish her doctorate to see her act again. BTW, how many years she will be studying (how long it will take to pursue a doctorate in Korea) ?

I am totally impressed with an actress who is interested in something other than making loads of money. Education is a great thing and the fact that she majored in German, I am doubly impressed.

i am a huge fan of hers, loved every drama./movie she's ever been in and on top of that i think she's one of the rare beauties around. She's a great role model for other actors/actresses and i really admire that she's continuing to learn and further her education on film/theatre even though she's already mastered it.
