i think she's adorable, but i must say... boys over flowers would have been much, much, MUCH more enjoyable had she turned down the overacting. there are more subtle ways to be cute, dear.

Like #2 said... I think she's very talented, but oh my gosh, BBF would've been a million times better if she hadn't been so... Over acty. If she wins an award for THAT, well, it would be kind of meaningless.

I don't put much stock in the awards shows because they tend to pick lead actors in popular/lucrative shows so I'd be surprised if GHS isn't at least nominated.

That said, I am still unsure why I didn't appreciate GHS in her role as Jandi. It isn't the overacting because the Jandi in the Japanese version was slightly exaggerated but I found Inoue Mao to be very likable in her role. Sometimes you just don't feel the actress in a certain role. I'm not anti GHS by any means...I liked her small role as Eugene in SeoDongyo. She was so cute back then.

When she was announced as the actress to play Jandi, I thought she was miscast. She never changed my mind and I agree with the other comments regarding the overacting. It also never made sense to me as to why someone would fall so head over heels in love with her character.

Overall she is ok in bof just she cannot pull the comedic act, I like her when she acting normal or splah her cute smile. Not easy to be a comedian and make people to remember it as her trademark. But one think she is good artist..

If she cleans up at the awards i'll eat me keyboard, the girl can act at times but was easily the worst thing about BOF, bad acting, terrible expressions not to mention her lack of chemistry with the cast. She seems to have zero confidence aswell, always looking uncomfortable with the F4.

Whoever casted her is an idiot, she didn't suit the role, not to mention her interviews where she admitted to not understanding her character at all and pulling the "innocent" look everytime she didn't know what to do.

It's nice to see and hear about GHS after these negative comments she's being getting. And as far as her acting in BOF I didn't think she wasn't always overacting/annoying. I thought it was funny n' I enjoyed it. I've seen some of her dramas and she's actually a good comedic/drama actress!

I liked her wayyyyy back in Nonstop 4 (or was it 5? Forgive me, it was a long time ago and I'm old...), cos she was cute in a non-annoying way.
But in BOF, I didn't even watch it in its entirety and I noticed she was not as good as she should to be. Plus her character was written pretty erratically. Guess the writers are not helping either.

I find it oh so amusing that her bodyguards' faces are pixellated in some pics and in some others they aren't. What? I'm easily amused!

I watched her in Ballad of Seo Dong, the King and I, and Boys Over Flowers but she still has not impressed me a bit. Personally, I neither like nor hate her... I just think she is an average actress.

I like Kim Bum and Kim So Eun pair much more than her and Lee Min Ho.

Looks like besides her, every actors and actresses from BOF trying to milk the cash cow as much as possible.

i just feel bad for her. she is trying too hard to act cute in BOF and also on writing her book in so called sophisticated manner. i wish she could just show us her real and comfortable side then all will be good and easy for everyone.

I have a lot of respect for this girl. She does seem to not have that much confidence, but I always liked that about her. She's never condescending. I also like that she marches at her own pace. Like #20 said, if it were anyone else, they would be trying to milk their popularity. They would probably have gotten roles in other dramas. But she really seems to want to try to do what she wants.

I've read a bit of her book, it's an easy read and probably not the best. But she didn't really publish this with the intention of getting praise for her writing, I think she did it because it was something she wanted to do. I'm sure she was prepared for criticisms coming her way.

I guess this is why I'm such a big fan of her. She's just a sweet and kind person. It's hard to find many people like that.

It's the exact opposite for me.
I loved her in Pure 19 and in Boys Before Flowers.

I've been an old fan of hers, first seeing her in Pure 19 and it was great to see her again.

I hope Goo Hye-sun unnie gets more acting opportunities.
I'd love to see her do another cutsie role and maybe even a more mature role too.

she was quite good in PURE 19 just overly sweet but it was very touching because the drama was good and good values were shown. she was good in strongest chil woo with eric its quite an action drama for entertainment only not much substance just for fun

Seriously, she's adorable! And i actually like the fact that she's dressed so casually for a book signing session. Who said all korean actresses have to dress to the nines anyway... I didn't like her much in BoF but I saw Pure 19 after that (a few years late I know) and she was excellent in that. I was sad when it ended and it had 167 episodes!

I do like her. I think she is just a simple girl. I didn't really like her character as Jandi because she didn't show much affection towards Jun Pyo. The Japanese version's Makino was much more endearing but then, perhaps that's how the director would have asked her to potray Jandi. Sort of not putting her emotions all out there....
She is a good actress and looking forward to her next role :-)

Thanks javabeans for the news. I like GHS, she's just so different to other K actresses, the way she dressed is simple but the color suits her well. I hate the fact that many K actresses or actors put so much makeup on their face, can't stand it at all, her simplicity makes her stand out so much. I like her as Jandi in BOF, she portrayed well a warm hearted and lovable high shool girl. Looking forward for her next project.

At least she did a better job than Barbie Hsu! Barbie Hsu fits more dramatic roles, it was hard to finish MG because of her. Oh, you should watch Rainie Yang in Miss No Good if you want to see annoying and over the top acting!

I think she was awesome in BOF. She grasped the silliness and the whimsical nature of Jandi's character. Come on people, the story in itself requires some suspension of belief. The characters are meant to be caricaturish. F4? Shinwah? Everything's supposed to be a bit over the top. Had she toned down her acting one bit, the drama would not have been as enjoyable. Give the girl a break.

she always seem to be extremely modest in appearance. she doesn't show her sexuality like most k-popped stars. I like her simply because she is likeable and does not appear to be stand offish like others. I bet she isn't even sure if she is pretty or not and that makes her even more great!

so i'm not the only one who thought her overacting in BOF was horrendous and annoying to watch. That and she just didn't fit the role...there was no chemistry between her and Goo Junpyo even tho they were supposed to be lovers. i just gave up on the silly drama after awhile.

We all have our opinions, but if you really hate her that much, you don't really need to read articles about her. You can simply avoid them. And writing pointless comments just because you don't like her, doesn't help her become a better actress, it only makes other people angrier.

She's very down to earth. She's good in BOF. Her character as Jandi is supposed to be like that based on the script and director. It was risky on her part to portray that role knowing that other people will criticize her on just that role. She doesn't care how she look as long as she portray her role based on the director's approval. She's adorable in Nonstop 5 and did a lot of CFs. She prettier with long hair. Love her CFs
