I was initially irked with the age-gap thing too. Yoona too young for KSW, or the other way round. But I saw the preview...and I think I'm gonna like their tandem.. KSW finally has a chance to show his comedic skills... :D

I think that the age difference itself isn't that strange. I mean, Painter of the Wind (바람의 화원) was a much larger age gap. I think it's just the fact that it seemed so glaringly obvious that Kwon Sang Woo was acting amongst a cast that made him seem to scream: "Look at me! I'm young and trendy! Not 30+ and an aging father!"

This project's cast of just even YOONAH being his love interest kind of screamed that as well. She's in SNSD and so a LOT of people in Korea (if not everyone) knows her. It feels like he's looking back for a way into yesteryear.

The hat, the chains, the "edgy" watch (or is that a bracelet? Do men wear bracelets? Wristband? Band? Whatever you know what I meant :) ) - he certainly *dressed* youthfully. Much more youthfully than his "movie hyung"**. But I'm sure that was just coincidental.

Whatever the case, everyone is pretty - so maybe I'll give it a one-episode-whirl.

** P.S. I am not a Korean speaker so someone tell me whether "movie hyung" actually made any sense :P

I can't say I'm feeling this. The We Got Married coupling of Tae Yeon with Hyun Dong kinda works, because it never pretends to be about romance, which would be super creepy. (Hell I kinda see it as an intervention on Hyun Dong's bachelor-slob lifestyle.) Even then that's a 11 year gap. This is a 14 year gap. Meaning, when she was about to be born, he was about to lose his virginity. When she signed up for SM Entertainment, he was seducing Japanese housewives. I mean, what kind of conversations do they have? "Yoona, my nephew would really like your autograph. And he told me if I get to kiss you, he would take me to the police." And if you watched You are My Destiny, I don't recall there ever been one kissing scene. Because that also would have been creepy.

Sigh. Well I guess next year, they could try Lee Byung Hun and So Hee. Shrug.

Is there any dress code actress or actor who attending press conference. It seems thats some actor use a *casual mode* at the same time their opponent use formal dress?

LOL. Creepy but true. I dunno - when I think of this, all sorts of words pop into my head: "flagging" "waning" "diminishing". I mean, I could be being very unfair - if the drama handles the age gap between the leads tastefully - i.e. by acknowledging it (maybe even making it part of the conflict - that they know they are unsuitably paired) then it could work out. But if we are expected to pretend we don't see the greying elephant in the room, then I won't be able to take the drama seriously. KSW by fighting the old, you are only drawing more attention to it.

P.S. When I say "fighting the old" I don't mean he is actually _old_. I mean, by trying to act like he is 22 again, he reminds us that he is, in fact, not.

Seeing Song Chang-eui, I am still a bit perplexed as to how he will be playing Kwon Sang-woo's hyung.

KSW doesn't look like a guy in his early twenties, even on the posters and preview of the drama he still looks like a grown up men, on his late twenties and sometimes even over 30. And Yoona, she looks even younger than her real age even when they dress her and add make-up on her to look more mature.

I think not even good acting can hide their age. I know KSW is a good actor, but even if he try to act younger, i don't think it'll work. Besides that, Yoona is still a new actress, she doesn't have that much experience in acting and many people complained about how she wasn't able to be convincing on the romantic scenes with her love interest in the KBS drama she was in. I don't think she'll be able to convince as an older girl or that she'll have chemistry with KSW. Take for example, Park Shin Hye, she was in many dramas before acting in Goong S, but still it was painful to watch her attempting to act older than her age to match Se7en that was only 6 years older than her .

I know I shouldn't be judging before watching...
but I hate how sometimes directors/casting directors/pds think only about promotion and creating buzz for a drama and ignores what's so obvious: there are times that not even make-up and acting is able to hide age. If they want to cast an actress and actor with such a big age gap to act as lovers, why they don't create a side story that explains their pairing and also deal and talk about this age gap instead of making the actor and actress pretend to be an age they obviously don't look even near of having.

really, really wanna see Song Chang-eui but don't really like KSW and Yoona....what to do? what to do? hmmm.....the dilemna of a K-drama addict

think I'd rather spend the time to recoup and try to get back what's left of my sanity from the craziness of BOF

@24 Maria: i agree with the working it in thing; they did that in Who Are You with Go Ara and Yoon Kye Sang and pulled it off pretty well I thought... from the trailers, since they're going for the comedic angle, I doubt they'd do that here. In the first stills they released, I thought they did a surprisingly good job of making Yoona look older, but here she looks super-young again.

Honestly, it just reeks of KSW being a try-hard... ["I'm So Nyuh Shi Dae's Kwong Sang Woo"...? Not in this century, buddy ^^]. That said, the trailers do look pretty fun. I'll give it a whirl and hope it surprises me.

i'm just offended for han eun jung, who is playing second fiddle - supporting actress to yoona.
han eun jung outweighs her colleague in experience and acting abilities.
i mean when i first heard yoona was cast as love interest for kwon sang woo, i seriously thought it was a joke. and i still can't actually believe, they're going to go with this casting.
casting yoona is obviously a last resort in ensuring high ratings, which is fine, but at least other dramas are subtle and make the casting somewhat believeable and justifiable. it's just so blunt and pathetic.
i mean the storyline sounds lame too, and kwon sang woo isn't as loved as he used to be.
this just has wtf all over it...

well snsd is marketed for older men anyway, so their girls being coupled with them is not surprising at all. the ajusshies would feel like they have a chance now and go on drooling over them and buying their stuff.

Comparing it to painter of the wind, i think this pairing bothers me more because while moon geunyoung is actually legally of age, while yoonah is not, even though the age diff there was a lot bigger. but for me the bigger factor was that moon actually has the skills to make the chemistry work and disregard the age, while yoonah lacks that. meh... i don't like kwon sangwoo anywho. :/

i think it would have made more sense if Yoon-ah was paired up with Song Chang-eui..i mean yeah there's still a big age gap but atleast it looks like it could actually happen...and yeah i agree in that picture where Yoon-ah is in between the two guys one can't help but think that it's just a girl with her two older brothers.

I'm not really a big fan of KSW, but I admit he's a great actor. And I really don't know why, but I've been eager to watch this drama since I heard of the synopsis (the dual role stuff). mainly because I wanna see how the actor gonna act this part. But after I saw the trailer (and the shocked look on both Kwons when they saw each other was priceless lol), I'm even more eager to see how this drama will fare. I will definitely keep an eye on it and watch 2 or 3 eppies then decide whether it's worth it or not. But honestly, KSW doesn't look this old, actually he looks really good with Yoon Ah in their pics on the set.

Kwon Sang Woo looks old and Yoon-A is ordinary looking. I can't picture a chemistry between these two but prove me wrong. I have to say among all KSW dramas and movies, he has the best chemistry with Choi Ji Woo in STH. Nothing beats that.
