Boys Before Parodies

Boys Before Flowers: Requiems and Grandpas
With the level of soaring popularity it’s enjoying, it’s no wonder that Boys Before Flowers has spawned a spate of parodies.
In general, netizen culture is rather prolific in photoshopping goofy images and putting together tribute videos and parodies. With Boys Before Flowers, it’s no different. There’s “Grandpas Before Flowers” (above right), in which fans composited the faces of veteran actors Lee Soon-jae (as Gu Jun-pyo) and Na Mun-hee (as Geum Jan-di).
And then there’s “Requiem” (below), which I think is startlingly good.
“Boys Before Flowers: Requiem”
I think the tight editing and use of music in this fan video is even better than the series itself, and they’ve made clever use of scenes and dialogue from Episode 10 to construct the story. (Also — I LOVE how they worked in their “villain.”)
In summary: The opening uses Jun-pyo’s dialogue where he warns Jan-di about his witchy mother and asks her to promise not to run from him. Mom says ominously, “Make preparations.” Then Jun-pyo worries that he won’t know if something bad will befall Jan-di. After that, I think it’s pretty self-explanatory. (The phone call uses Yi-jung’s line to Ji-hoo from Episode 6 how “This time you’ll have no one on your side.”)
Boys Before Flowers: Goong Opening
This one I enjoy because it’s managed to convey the feel of the Goong (Princess Hours) opening remarkably well, mostly taken from Episode 6 scenes. (Here’s the original Goong opening.)
The rest aren’t as good, but it’s interesting to see the diversity of styles. There are some bad fan-acted versions that I’m not posting here because they amount to people dressing in uniforms and acting out scenes, and aren’t really noteworthy. But these took some creativity, like the following video-game version below (I think it’s Counterstrike?).
Video-game version
It’s not funny or that engaging, but it obviously took a lot of effort to re-create scenes from Episode 1
using the video game. All the audio is taken directly from the show.
“Boys Before Golddiggers”: Simpsons-style version
Again, not terribly funny, but it clearly took a lot of effort. “Boys Before Golddiggers” is the amended title that is used in the end.
Infinity Challenge version
This takes the comedians and participants of variety show Infinity Challenge (like Yoo Jae-seok, Jun Jin, Park Myung-soo, Jung Hyung-don) and uses their faces for the cast members. Man, some of them make ugly women.
I’m sure many of you have already seen Big Bang‘s parody, which isn’t really a BBF parody — it’s based on the Japanese Hanadan, but here you go anyway:
ADDED!
Thanks to sea for this. Apparently also done by the same editor as the “Requiem” and “Goong” MVs, there’s this one that reconstructs the Jan-di and Jun-pyo love story as a tragic memory after Jan-di dies:
“Ballerino”
Oh, this one’s really good too, by the same editor/fan:
“New Heart Opening” (here’s the original New Heart opening)

I can't help thinking BOF is kind of a wasted opportunity despite being SO watchable, higly enjoyable, addictive and so on. What if it is in the hands of a different PD and music director - would they bring the drama to a different level?
Many of the fans-remade are way better in terms of editing and feel, not to mention the music. The kiss in the traffic jam is just a case in point. The PD's treatment totally wasted LMH's intensity and GHS's emotional moment. Please, please don't let us have another 'paradise-wrecking' scene.
Saw this one yesterday in YT. It was made before BOF went to air by using previous drama clips of the main leads - enjoy:

if anyone is looking for ballerino at Youtube, I uploaded (yes, I asked the editor 2pema herself and she was very generous to send me her files.
Also, there is "So Yi Jung Psycho" one out there(i don't think its on youtube) and it is really scary, lol you will be surprised. It was edited by same editor who did "JiHoo Psycho" version.

the goong opening song makes me want to dig up my goong dvd, the slow mo and editing is so perfect!

This is another parody that a poster linked in soompi. Boys Over Flowers Romeo and Juliet version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibZIAwhVHg8
It looks really nice, even though only one song was used in this video.

@rora: I think she used only that song for a good reason. It is from Romeo&Juliet movie with Leonardo DiCaprio so the connection is kindy strong...
I really enjoyd all the videos here. Big Bang is great afterall XDD

golly!!!!!!!!!1 i love it! really... as in hey! how does an ambidextrous person not get a well-paying job? the one who created the goong/requiem/new heart/ballerino ... shocks... the requiem gave me chills. if it would be a trailer for a movie... it would sell tons!! and the goong... it's good.. it gave a lively atmosphere... and the ballerino.... awesome!
haven't watched the new heart coz it won't play right...
thanks guys for the parodies/remake! love BBF!!!!

dam, i can't watch the videos. the requiem sounds nice since youtube is not working for me. it's either a black screen with audio or visuals that keeps shrinking/ expanding every second. i wonder if it's only me that is having this issues?
