Site maintenance complete…?
by javabeans
Re: site upgrades/migrations/maintenance: I was hoping for the best but got pretty much what I expected, which was a lot of headaches and calls to tech support.
The site dropped a bunch of comments made today and the latter part of yesterday, but I’ll take that in exchange for a working site. I never want to have ANYTHING to do with Linux, SSH, Apache, MySQL, or server migration AGAIN. Ever. By the way, if any of those words sound familiar and enjoyable to you? I WILL PAY YOU to make my problems go away. (In the future, that is. I’m crossing fingers that there are no more today.)
Btw, WordPress-ers out there, didja know there’s a plugin that effs with the 2.7 upgrade to DROP VOWELS FROM ALL POSTS? Yeah, that was a fun two hours.
And now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Apache? SSH? What do Indians and Song Seung Heon have to do with website administration?

I feel for you - really, and when I sit here laughing at your post, it's not cause I'm laughing AT you but WITH you - because what is there to do - if you can't laugh you might as well cry and it's SO much more difficult to see the computer screen and figure out what the bastard is doing if you are crying. Well done...let's hope you never have to deal with anything like that again... I second BELLEZA - computers are scary....

But seriously, I don't think it's that hard to get guys to help out with computer problems. I mean, isn't that what prostitution is for?

Good frigging lord, my head feels like it's about to explode.
Thought I finally had everything done, when something broke and no amount of pleading with the tech gods would do it. SSH, remote FTP, direct FTP, reinstalling, nuthing.
Everything is FINALLY up and going and I'm totally taking a break. No posts for the rest of today till Boys Before Flowers is ready! PHEW.

Speaking of BBF, Episode 3 already garnered a 20.8 rating. It's stunning!!
BBF is going against the EofE juggernaut, and now it's clear that BBF is actually taking away EofE's audience (rating has dropped to 25.7) Also, the show is doing this on the pure strength of the teen audience (which means, if the normal ratings are good, the Netizen discussion is insane), and its doing this on KBS2, which had exactly one primetime weeknight show that generated a 20+ rating.
When EofE finishes, BBF looks destined to go past Coffee Prince popularity and hit national drama status.

Delurking to give you a cyber *hug*! :)
I love your site and your literary prowess in analysing the awesome world of K-drama. Thank you for the fix you give to English-speaking fans. :)
And though it's unintended, your post made me laugh. Why in the world would there be a plug-in that deletes vowels?! The mind boggles to think of the uselessness of this.
