TV directors of photography honor sageuk actors

Kim Sang-kyung and Moon Geun-young are the newest recipients of the 2008 Grime Award (pronounced gree-may) for acting, presented by the Korean Television Directors of Photography Association. The honor goes to their roles in their sageuk dramas, Great King Sejong and Painter of the Wind, respectively.

All other awards went to directors; the Daesang, the top award, went to directors Ha Jae-young and Jung Seung-woo for their work on MBC’s East of Eden.

Upon receiving his acting award, Kim Sang-kyung said, “I’m particularly happy to be receiving this award from directors. The most important mood-setter on the set is the director of photography; I wish him good health.”

Moon Geun-young said, “The director of photography, the lighting director, and the staff are always the ones on set who enable me to act my utmost, and enjoy myself the utmost. That’s how I was able to live whole-heartedly as Shin Yoon-bok.”

It may just be the new haircut, but I can’t help thinking Moon Geun-young, shown with fellow acting winner Kim Sang-kyung, is looking different since she fractured her nose during filming for Painter of the Wind

In terms of face features, I don't see much difference. But is it just me or does MGY look so skinny? It might be the dress that gives away that vibe, but either she's lost all her baby fat, or she's just going down the skeleton road. Hopefully not, I'd hate to see that.

i always thought she was really cute, but her nose was always a little too "potato-y", which may have been counted as one of her blessings since gamja ko's are highly regarded.
but i did notice that the nose seemed to have slimmed down a little; it could be because of her weight, but i know that otolaryngologists can do a quick rhinoplasty procedure while fixing a structural defect or trauma injury to the nose so it's within the realm of possibility.

Love love the way she looks. The dress is so chic..the color, cut, texture .....totally modern. And the hair, earrings and the peep toe shoes perfectly complement the dress. Also love her fresh natural makeup in keeping with her age. Hate it when really young girls wear too much make up. Makes them look so common.

I love everything about MGY. she look cute as well as chic. but then because she potrayed Shin yoon book so well. I kind of forget that she look like this (a girl ).. so For a split second I had this thought of a trainee. ^^ and got to love this girl so much. very little make up and still look pretty and cute.

yeah, she is skinnier than before a lot probably bc there was really hard work in the drama and she had many injuries too. She did a great job. Congrats to MGY, she deserves the award ! GOOD WORK!

dang she wasn't that skinny during the press conference. i did watch some behind the scenes stuff that said because the filming is so intense and stressful that an actor normally loses at least 10 pounds during the process of filming. not to mention, she also had to catch up on lost time when she broke her nose and twisted her ankle.

she's not only an amazing actress, but also someone with great work ethics. it's admirable.

I wonder why she didn't mention anything about Park Shin Yang. Is it because he was banned?

When i read her interviews about painter of the wind also she didn't mention anything about him, his acting, or whatever. I find it rather strange. People usually at least threw in some polite comments about who they're acting with.

In the drama itself I think MGY didn't have as much chemistry with PSY. I think she sometimes just feel self conscious and uncomfy because he is a male. But i didn't see the tender love like she had with the gisaeng. She just have respect for the teacher
