Seoul University opens its gates for Star’s Lover

Yoo Ji-tae and Cha Ye-ryun are shown here filming for A Star’s Lover at Seoul University, marking the first time a drama’s been shot at Korea’s top educational institution. A few productions have been shot at another top school, Yonsei University (Attic Cat, My Sassy Girl), but never before at Seoul.

(In the scene, Yoo’s character Chul-soo reminisces about his breakup with his first love, played by Cha. As they’re saying their goodbyes, the first snow falls around them, the effect of which was achieved using a snow machine. In the present day, Chul-soo is an associate professor at his alma mater.)

Is Seoul Uni really the top school in Korea? Like a Stanford in the US?

Love the way they dressed him. I love army color jackets on men and gray scarf is perfect. Somehow good looking men look cooler when they are dressed down. She looks good too. Camel coat and gray again. None of those cutesy pretty pastel color coordinated outfits that drive me insane. Only 9 year olds and younger should dress like that.

cosmopolite, yeah, from what I know, it's the top school there. I'm so very tempted to study abroad at Yonsei or Seoul University sometime next year.

I like the first picture with the snow falling down...

I love dramas filmed in the winter. I get to see all the pretty snow but not feel the cold. =)

But, aren't there prettier backgrounds at Seoul University? This one just look like it could be any school.

that's a familiar backdrop alright...one of kang dong-wan's rom-com had a college-years flashback with this setting (was it Don't Believe Her with kim ha-neul?)
aww yu jitae looks all broken up here. a more mature version of his emotional tussle from A Fine Spring Day??
i love cha ye-ryun & can't wait for her to get older, tackle meatier roles.

Wow, the snow scene looks absolutely amazing and beautiful... Too bad it's a break up scene...if it was a kiss scene it would be perfect!

Now that I think about it, is this going to be Lee Ki Woo's break-out year? I've been seeing more and more posts about him (here and other places) in the limited sites I frequent. Hope things go well with him...

"A few productions have been shot at another top school, Yonsei University (Attic Cat.."

Actually, Dramabeans, Attic Cat was shot at Korea University because it is famous for its law school and Kim Rae Won's character was a law student. ^^
