Maestro puts out a classical music album
by javabeans
Capitalizing on his success as conductor “Kang-mae” in Beethoven Virus, Kim Myung-min is putting out a classical music album. Er, what now?
No, Kim hasn’t suddenly revealed hitherto-unknown musical talent (though he professes to be a classical-music enthusiast). Rather, he’s “editing” a compilation to be put out by classical music label EMI Classics, which bears the title “Kim Myung-min’s Classic Maestro.” The album contains Kim’s favorite selections and recommendations, and is organized under four themes (passion, harmony, rest, solitude).
As Kim explains it, many people enjoy classical music but don’t necessarily know where to start; his reasoning behind his selections for this album is to provide the general public with a “first step” in their foray into the classics. The album goes on sale on December 26.
Uh, y’know I love Kim Myung-min, but this seems… unnecessary. The man couldn’t just post up an iTunes playlist?

This is so funny. Creative overmarketing. Like the CF for a Korean cracker with the whole B.V. cast. Go get 'em, Myung-min-sshi. Things may never be this good again. smileyface.

I believed it is similar to doing a CF magazine cover, but instead it is an album cover now .
KMM also enjoy the liberty of selecting the choice of his preferred music in this album.
This man need to plan for is retirement fund too....not getting younger. lol

testimony: i hated that doozy of classical music, but now will give it a chance under the spell of kangmae!
seriously, there were nice moments in the show, like kangmae calming kids down and persuading blue collar dad that upscale music can lead to a life of the rich and fabulous for kids (or lonely and egotrippin' if you're kangmae :P )
so how about it, classical music for kids?

I'm all for it. Sure, he'll probably make money, good for him. But the record will also go a long way toward introducing classical music to people who have no inclination to listen to it.

i think it will help those who used to hate classical music but loved his character in beethoven virus to venture into classical music. oh well, BV was THAT good in ratings.
is he keeping that hairdo? after it becomes some trend, like victoria b's crop. :P or has it already started??! :P

I like this idea, mainly because I've enjoyed classical music before, but never really got into it, due to being at a complete loss at where to start, and this is what he states it's for. And if he's a fan, why not?
Where do you buy albums like these over the net? I've seen OSTs for dramas on yesasia.com but I was wondering if anyone had any other sites to go to?

i agree with one of the comments it's perfectly alright -- why not? congrats Kim Myung ssi -- i liked you a lot in Beethoven Virus which I just finished watching on dvd! i actually hope for a sequel with same casting of course! way to go --- if BYJ can go to Japan to promote his food business Kim can start something different, let's just support our Korean actors! Aja
