Alex hosts “Delicious Korea”
by javabeans
Is it me, or is this kind of… random?
Clazziquai singer Alex is making his entry into the Japanese market, not in music but on television. And not just any television, but a food program.
Beginning in February, Alex will be the host for a program called Delicious Korea [맛있는 대한민국], which will be shown on eight stations, beginning with TV Tokyo. The show will break from the format of previous Korean cooking shows on Japanese television, and will hire an all-Korean staff to take care of everything from planning, research, and cooking.
The program will consult with a Japanese chef well-versed in Korean cuisine, and include a portion that features collaboration with Japanese production staff. Therefore, while Korea is the main focus of the show, it should remain accessible to most Japanese viewers.
Alex is also preparing for his first solo concert in Japan, to take place in Shibuya on January 20.

Alex was a chef at a restaurant (I'm pretty sure it was a sushi restaurant) before he became a singer for Clazziquai. He's amazing! He was on Vitamin a few times for the cooking portion. I guess the fact that he actually knows food makes the whole ordeal a bit less random. It seems like an interesting idea though, crossing over to Japan through a cooking show.

No... not random at all.
He had a ton of culinary skills before he was even a celebrity, so it's nothing too out there.
It's much less random than Kim Rae Won and his cookbook from what he learned in Gourmet. lol. Now that was random.

I don't think it was random too, it was a very obvious choice imo, cause he's a famous singer, worked as MC and was a restaurant Chef.
i wish him luck in japan^^

yea i think it is a bit random...
firstly, i didn't think he was going to host a cooking program (though he is a chef with a sushi license thing... etc and has experience with "vitamin")
second. random thing was... in japan? (i didn't think he would go to japan to do this, it just seemed so sudden- no previous inkling of going to japan... or maybe its just me who didn't notice)
yea... very random... does he have some sort of fanbase in japan, jw?
but hopefully he'll do well (im guessing he really likes to cook ;)
-but definitely he should continue singing soon--- very soon...

Actually it's not that random since clazzi's ish-wellknown over there and it's known that he used to be a chef/n is a great cook XD so "debuting" as a tv host for a food program is perfect =]

I don't think it is random either. Alex can cook really well and i saw him do it on Vitamin. Didn't know he used to be a chef at a restaurant though. I guess he knows a lot about cuisine, hence hosting a food program is just right for him!

Perhaps I should clarify "random" -- sure the guy cooks. But he's a singer now, and instead of doing work building up his music career (or even his Korean entertainment profile) he's doing a food show for Japanese television, when he doesn't have much of a Japanese presence. Yes, Clazziquai is known in Japan but his profile isn't that high in the country, so yes, I think this is kinda out of left field.

Not long ago, I read something about how a singer overworked himself and have to halt all the activites. that's like VERY NOT LONG AGO.
and here we go. I bet He's good at cooking and singing too, But he really need just to focus on ONE thing he's best at (Singing and together with Shinae )
"Don't keep on stepping on to other boat. Later, the Overworked singer news will resurface again and fans will get bored Alex."
