Production hopes for speedy recovery for “Painter” star
by javabeans
After Moon Geun-young fractured her nose in filming for Painter of the Wind, drama production slowed to a halt as their star was forced to take some time off and recover. Now production is hoping their star will be ready to get back to work as early as October 17.
On October 15, a rep for Moon Geun-young said, “She will be returning to the set sometime this week. It’ll be difficult for her to return by the 15th as originally estimated, but if things go well we think she’ll be back by Friday.”
Moon is reportedly doing much better following minor surgery, although there’s still a lot of swelling in her face. She is currently resting at home.
Because of the filming delays, this week fans will only be able to see “special” broadcasts (i.e., mostly filler footage and cut scenes cobbled together as a sort of slapdash behind-the-scenes program. However, with only six episodes aired so far, I doubt there’ll be that much worth watching). If things go as planned, episode 7 should air on the 22nd, next Wednesday.

I watched the first special live. It was a summary of the six aired episodes with audio commentary (as done on DVDs) from the PD, Moon Geun Young, and two other staff. I missed the introductions of the speakers at the beginning so I'm not exactly sure who the other commentators are, but I believe one of them is also the writer.

The commentators included the PD, MGY, the novelist of the original text and the script writer. It was watchable overall, actually better than expected.

Its stressing when dramas film while they air. Theres not much they can do when accidents like this occur. Hopefully they don't rush Moon Geun Young's recovery. This is a bit off topic but are there any fan sub groups picking up this project? I see that KST has shown interest in subbing it but they haven't done anything yet. I would LOVE to watch this drama.

Wow, I'm totally blown away by this drama. Started watching out of boredom, but it exceeded my expectations.
The two Ms. Moons generate more chemistry than any other on-screen couples I've seen all year. :) So much so I'm not getting the MGY-PSY connection. Their student-teacher relationship is good, but I just don't feel any romantic chemistry btw them. Hopefully, that'll improve in future eps.
