How to get on “Yoon Do-hyun’s Love Letter”
by javabeans
Reader Sheryl (and I!) would like to thank everyone who offered such great suggestions when she asked about fun things to do in Seoul.
Sheryl says, “I have actually kinda figured out how to get tickets for Yoon Do Hyun’s Love Letter and thought the least I can do as a return gesture for those who shared their suggestions was to kinda share the ticket booking process.”
So thank you Sheryl, and hopefully somebody will find these tips useful!
Instructions:
Unless you know any of the producers of the show, KBS staff or Yoon Do Hyun himself (KBS contact number is +82 (0) 2 781 1000; ask the operator for “YDH’s Love Letter” extension), tickets are assigned online. You would have to register with KBS and if one is a foreigner who is staying overseas, KBS will ask for some sort of ID confirmation to be faxed/e-mailed over. This confirmation process will take a while so anyone planning to visit Seoul in the next few months should register now.
As I didn’t have the time factor, my friend contacted her friend living in Seoul to register (process is quicker). Once you’ve registered, you would be required to log in to KBS, enter Yoon Do Hyun’s Love Letter‘s webpage and book audience tickets (please correct me if I’m wrong: I think the tab will be called “Pang Cheong An Nae”). KBS then I believe calls you back to inform you whether your ticket booking has been successful and then proceeds to send you the tickets to your mailing address. I never got as far as that as my friend’s friend has yet to inform me whether her booking was successful.
Good luck!

You actually have to write a mini story why you deserve those tickets. That was four years ago so I'm not sure if it's still like that today.
I actually got the tickets back then. They send you a postcard and you have to get there early! It's pretty much a first come first serve basis. I came 10 minutes before the time that was written on my postcard and I had to stand up throughout the whole show. BUT BUT, it was an awesome experience. :]
Good luck with the tickets!

wow...seriously makes you work for those tickets eh?
but what if you don't speak korean? how are you supposed to communicate? do staffs that call know how to speak english? i doubt it...although it would be great if they did. i would love to go to his show when i'm there.
