Ha Ji-won in “My Love By My Side”

Time for Kwon Sang-woo to share a bit of the spotlight: He’s been cast alongside Ha Ji-won in the new movie My Love By My Side [내 사랑 내 곁에], to be directed by Park Jin-pyo (You’re My Sunshine, Voice of a Murder).
The film is described as a melodramatic romance centering around a man who suffers from Lou Gehrig’s disease and the self-sacrificing woman who loves him. Kwon’s character suffers from the incurable illness as his body gradually becomes more and more paralyzed, but maintains his sense of humor and his dignity.
Ha Ji-won plays a cheerful and upbeat funeral director, and because of the frequency with which she encounters death, she doesn’t think of disease as the grave and dire thing that people typically see it as being.
The movie will be released sometime next year, and on the downside, I’m a bit sick of Kwon Sang-woo too, and terminal-illness melodramas are never my bag. On the upside, it’s always great to see Ha Ji-won in action.

Wasn't 6 Feet Under just great, South Korea? ;) :D
Park Jin-pyo's work can be uhhhh rough going emotionally (stay away from anything titled "Sunshine" if you're going through depression mm kay? ;) ), but he likes edgy , somewhat philosophical perspectives in his movies.
This could be a sex comedy for all we know.

Ha Ji Won's schedule is jammed packed. Doesn't she already have like two other movies? I'm not complaining though. THe more Ha Ji Won, the better. I love KSW and HJW in Love, so Divine so it'll be a joy watching them together again. Lets hope this is a cute romantic comedy and not some sex comedy or melodrama.

i love her too! :) this sounds like an interesting storyline but i'd love to see her in another cute romantic comedy. regarding KSW...i thought i was the only one sick of this dude!

FWIW, Park Jin-pyo is another level of director, though. The movie should be more substantial than the blurb says. Possibly award level stuff and maybe the best role of Ha Ji Won's career.
But, yeah, here's hoping for a sex horror comedy melodrama!!! PJP is capable of doing all those in one movie! ;) :D

Lol, now THAT I want to see. ;) Though I'd much prefer a Ha Ji Won-Kang Dong Won reunion than a HJW-KSW redux. Love So Divine was insipid.

The only way to win Ha Ji Won's heart is to swallow your own hand while having an emotional breakdown. Yup, ain't nuthin more romantic than *rrrrrraagrrgggghh!!!!* Works for me!

I look forward to watching this movie of Ha Ji & Kwon Sang as I both love them in Love so Divine -- they had a great chemistry in that movie! She's gorgeous & a good actress -- I'm glad they're teaming up again!
