Keeping his skills — and knives — honed
by javabeans
The cast of SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Gourmet chose Gangwon-do’s Vivaldi Park for their press conference on May 29, which included a display of some knife skills and cooking talents of two of the series’ leads, Kim Rae Won and Kwon Oh Joong.
In the drama, Nam Sang Mi plays a foodie columnist who becomes Kim Rae Won’s love interest, a role that was reportedly dangerous to her figure, given the many eating scenes filmed late at night. On top of that, Kim Rae Won’s reputed cooking skills weren’t exaggerated (“His food was delicious,” Nam Sang Mi says) and she ate more than usual.
The 24-episode drama also stars Kim So Yeon and Won Ki Joon and starts on June 16, after the short drama Tokyo Shower.

i think I'm going to have to pass on this drama. I've seen far too many bad cooking dramas that it's left a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm not exactly fond of Kim Rae Won either.

I have no idea what Gourmet's plot is, but just hearing that Kim Rae Won's food tastes good makes me sort of excited. I wonder if Dennis Oh actually cooked his own food in Witch Yoo Hee?

24 episodes? Why so long? I'm usually bored half way. I hope it doesn't drag.

Anything Kim Rae Won, I'm excited about. He is for me the best actor S. Korea produced. His acting is pure magic. I'm so looking forward to Gourmet (hopefully a kind soul would sub each episode asap as they are shown).

Le Grande Chef was a lot of fun, and it had very stylish porn showing off classic and nouveau Korean creations. Hopefully Gourmet will do the same. Besides I need a recipe for bimbap made with truffles and Kobe beef tartare . . .
