There is the term "Waschbrettbauch" in german. You could translate it with "washboard stomach" and it describes a pretty flat and muscular stomach.

I was just thinking how weird it is that he calls himself Magic Feet, his clash w/ Colbert... and now chocolate abs? Um... it's getting weirder and weirder, but I guess we can all appreciate his hardwork into his body though!... -_-.

But on the other hand, I'd prefer a man who is highly talented in his profession (i.e., KANG JI HWAN!!!!!) than just a good-looking face/bod.

PS. On a random side note to JavaBeans and to whomever is interested in Hong Gil Dong... I was reading your "reflection" on Hong Gil Dong's last episode, and I agree with you. There is simply no other way I could have imagined the series ending, because it would have been too cliched or sappy. So though it was bittersweet and sad, it was an excellent and ingenious ending to a pretty good sageuk series.

But about the connection of the first episode to the entire series - I don't think it was necessarily Eun Hye's story that was portrayed b/c if you think about the portrayal of Yi Nok, she was so polished and "cool", when really, Eun Hye knows the clumsy reality of Yi Nok.

So I think it was just a kudos to the idea of the LEGEND of Hong Gil Dong being created, rather than a specific reference. As well, HGD has always been known to be more like that clip from the first episode; a well-polished, revolutionary fighter and it's very creative how the writers and director used that traditional stereotype as the 'jumping off point' for the off-beat version of HGD they use in the series.

Okay. Back to Rain though! Haha.

i agree, rain is getting wierder and wierder O_O. I remember once upon a time when I regarded him as a normal, respected celebrity... but now, I don't know, now I see him as just a dude struggling to make it in hollywood, whose sense of style is deteriorating really fast. Maybe there's something about him that screams "desperate" thats very unbecoming of him. Everybody's talking about how many advances he's making in hollywood, but honestly, these advances look kind of superficial and not very promising to me. In fact, while people are saying he's at the top of his game, to me it seems the exact opposite. Ever since he left jyp, his fiasco of a world tour, and his stint at hollywood, he seems to be on a rapid decline, actually. But anyhows, he actually looks good in that picture, and its been a long while since I've been able to say that! Even though, yeah, his muscles are a little bit TOO much.

i think Rain's image is also sadly affected by how certain people choose to report him. you can only make up a certain amount of crap before people start believing it. sad, but true.

I started watching Capital Scandal, but decided to pursue Dal Jas Spring instead - I've heard so many good things about Capital Scandal, but I think after Hong Gil Dong, my emotions need a break from such intensity! :) Dal Jas seems to be a cute, light hearted comedy...
