News bites: December 6
by javabeans
Hm, nothing really catches my eye too much today. Here are just a few items in the news:
- Samsoon actress Jung Ryeo Won (above) has cut her hair and grown an unexpected 2.5 centimeters (at age 26!) from the height she’d always believed herself to be, 166cm. Some people have all the luck.
- Goong and Jumong actress Song Ji Hyo thinks model-actor-costar Joo Ji Hoon is better for dating, but Song Il Kook is better for marrying.
- Pop singer and highly criticized plastic-surgery patient Han Aeri “regrets her plastic surgery!” Except for the pages and pages of press it got her, I’m sure.
- Meanwhile, mediocre drama actress Kim Gyuri also undergoes scrutiny for (alleged) plastic surgery: “Is it surgery, or has she just lost weight?” (Yeah, right.)
- Gyopo actress Han Ye Seul (right) admits on Yashim Manman that she hasn’t dated since her acting debut.
- And singer (and sometimes actress) Lee Soo Young jokingly wonders if her song titles are the reason why she’s single. What, you mean with songs like “I Don’t Understand Men”?

rocketfuel, that's a good one...You'll be like Chan Chul Soo. Hehe. Wonder where's the nearest place to buy ja jang myun besides Korea.

I'm waiting for the subs to check it out but I haven't been convinced by the preview and synopsis...

Gyopo is a Korean term for Koreans who have lived most of their life outside of Korea.

that's quite a random post of yours beans...
but thanx for sharing all the same ^^
To yeli,
About Bad Love..I'm not as good an analyst as Beans, but all I can say is that it's better for you to not have high expectations for the drama. First 2 eps IMO, was alright only, if not a little to the disappointing side for me [altho I'm an avid Sang Woo fan]. Story progressed a lil way too fast [for some of us in the thread]..but again, some ppl said they liked the pace of it..was not draggy AT ALL. BUT again, it's up to what you're looking for in a drama I think. And for me, it was just not right...

Bad Love has strange elements that are hard to believe and/or digest even for a KDrama - but INSOON has turned into a sweet, sweet love story... IMO only.

Love the news tidbits! Thanks javabeans. Re Bad Love, pretty people, big time melodrama, and I enjoyed ep 1. Re Insoon, I've watched thru ep 6 and love this show. I agree with you #10.

lene, YEH is in one of Javabean's banners. She's with the 3 other Coffee Prince' main leads. She also has a solo. Actually, Javabeans posted something about her banners just a couple of months ago. She listed the names of korean actors/actress that's on her banners. I just can't remember the name of that post. But I think it's still there. Hope this helps =)

Anon, refer to comments 4 and 5.
I tried continuing Insoon... but I found it really boring :( Seems like others are enjoying it though...
rocketfuel & Candy, 1 word: Chacharoni.
Yep, I do have Yoon Eun Hye in a couple headers. You can always check out the current bunch on my header page here (under the ABOUT page).

I'm sorry Javabeans but I must ask, What is Chacharoni? I'm guessing it's some type of food like ja jang myun or better. Sorry, I'm not korean and have never tasted ja jang myun. I'm just curious because in most k-dramas that I've watched there's ja jang myun. I know this is not related to your post so you don't have to answer.

Candy, Chacharoni is the instant (ramen) version of jajangmyun. (Check it out here.) Of course it doesn't taste exactly like jajangmyun but it's not a bad substitute when you're craving it. Only note that if you make it, DO NOT follow the instructions that say to leave the water in when mixing the sauce paste -- drain all the water first, THEN mix the paste in with the noodles. (Keep a few spoonfuls of water in, but no more.)
