Taiwan readies for the Coffee Prince craze
by javabeans
Check out that new hair! I admit I’m partial to the longer, Han Gyul-ian look on Gong Yoo (like this, for instance), but the new look’s kinda sharp and spiffy.
Anyway, Gong Yoo recently gave an interview (on the 27th) to eight major Taiwanese media outlets regarding the series Coffee Prince. Although the series hasn’t aired in Taiwan yet (it will begin its run on the Video Land channel on January 3 next year), Gong Yoo’s already won lots of fans over with his image as a “romantic prince.”
(I just wanted an excuse to post the pics. You don’t mind, do you? 🙂 )
SONG OF THE DAY
Maybee – “Shalala shong” (No, it’s not “song.” The sound, spelled 숑, is just one of those onomatopoeia things.) [ zShare download ]

I have a question, are taiwanese dramas even watched in Korea, because when I was reading stuff in wikipedia they were talking about how Koreans rave over Taiwanese dramas. No offense, but I find their dramas really shallow. I watched one of their dramas (That was most recommended) and found the acting to be....ick.
Anyways (that was off topic!)
Coffee Prince is really gaining alot of publicity from all over the world (T___T, okay, ASIA)

Hahaha and yesss another post regarding Coffee Prince! *woot* haha I've noticed I've been commenting a lot about this drama..and still loving it! Anyway, yea actually Gong Yoo's new hairstyle is quite fresh and smart...a different look to the one in Coffee Prince, but still charming X)...I'm sure Taiwan's going to be loving this drama...I wonder if it'll receive the same attention as the oh-so-popular Goong. Thanks for posting again! Much appreciated =)

wow...all hail...
everytime there's a news about Gong Yoo...you're really making my day...
he still looks cute...that's a given....hehe..
but I agree with you Javabeans...I also prefer his hair in CP...
good for Taiwan, they'll be experiencing CP's earthshaking success...
I hope it will be shown in our country,too...the Philippines...
I've been telling my friends to wait for it...for sure they'll go crazy for it too...
just like what happened to me here in CA...
BTW, any news regarding Yoon Eun Hye and the other princes...
I saw in youtube the birthday celebration of Eun Hye and they mentioned
that Gong Yoo was there...
Do you have any article about it...

I prefer his old hair cut now he looks boybandish. EEK. Also Most taiwanese dramas are silly but I've found a few, like Mars was intense as long as you suspend your disbelief and it started with kiss was cute.

Does anyone know if the series will be dubbed?
(I do prefer the real voices, but I have a lot of friends that don't like reading the subtitles...)

Can't say I'm loving his new cut. It makes him look like he's trying too hard. He doesn't need to look so hip and young since he's already proven himself as a cool leading man. I'd Love to give him a big smackeroo on those yummy lips though.

:( his new hair is not exactly my cup of tea. it's like...ruining my image of him. I don't know...his Coffee Prince hair was so freakin sexy! why would he get rid of it?! AGHHHHHHHHH haha I'll be ok...no, not really. by the way, anyone know when he'll be heading to Taiwan or has he already gone?
taiwanese dramas aren't the best shows to watch. my mom doesn't even like watching them and it's like, in her language. it's the guys voices that totally kill it. they'll be looking hot and then once they open their mouths, it's like OMGOSH! why do you sound like a girl!!! hehehe

GY looks younger with the new haido.
Why isn't YEH promoting the series?
I heard the Taiwanese Media have been trying desperately to get a few words out of her as she is the main star of the series.
Can't wait to see CP on TV :)
