Lee Eon picks his first post-Coffee Prince project
by javabeans
Actor Lee Eon, fresh from his role as dumb but lovable Min Yub in Coffee Prince (like I really need to identify him on this site, huh?), will be appearing in his first leading role ever, in an upcoming episode of Drama City. Because the long-running KBS2 show is an anthology series, each episode is a stand-alone story, so you don’t have to be a follower to understand the storyline of the episodes.
Lee Eon plays a guy who used to dominate local games of jokgu, or Korean kickball, but who’s now just a has-been who teaches soccer at a small sports center. (Jokgu, as far as I can tell, is a rather hardcore way of crossing the mechanics of soccer with the rules of volleyball. Yeah, I don’t get how it works either but it looks both fun and painful.) He happens to meet a little kid Jinwoo at a nursery school, and resolves to win a jokgu competition to save the school with the prize money.
The Drama City episode airs on October 13.

Just want to point out a correction: Drama City airs on KBS. You might be thinking of Best Theatre, which airs on MBC (but of course MBC has stopped airing Best Theatre).

Sorry, you're right it's KBS. It says so clearly in the article too; I was definitely thinking Best Theater instead and it slipped right by me. Fixed!
