      Personally I am not a fan of saeguks because the culture and laws in goryeo era are ununderstandable for me. I missed seeing JCW on my screen and zi found this treasure of a drama

      This is like trick question because I loved all the characters, the protagonists, antagonists, comedians, plot changers and all the adjectives I can find for the entire cast. Most memorable ones are nyang, tal tal, tanashiri and el temur too!!

          I believe this is one of those selected few dramas that explains why the characters do what they do and what has molded them in such manner. And may be its my first time but I find all the characters grey… which is the way i like it… they are not completely black or white

            Yes. Characters with no define good or bad traits are more interesting and memorable than just “good heroes” and “evil guys”. I actually liked the female characters the most 🙂

      I only saw him in My Secret Hotel and a family drama after Empress KI (I think) and his other roles can’t top Tal Tal. That man belongs to sageuks.

        He belongs more to heavy type drama. I wish he will get casted in thriller drama for his next project, maybe as a psycho killer 😬 He is too good to be wasted tbh.

        And yes this man belongs to sageuks. He did Conspiracy in the Court which was his debut drama if I’m not mistaken before Empress Ki and he was great.

        It’s my favorite Kdrama and it made me love historical dramas AND long dramas. (Gu Family Book and The Moon That Embraces The Sun didn’t impress me)

    It hasn’t been a year since I get sucked into dramaland, so I only ever watch the currently airing, and yeah I get confused too when other beanies mention shows in short terms.

      Me too… beanies use short forms for dramas and I am left wondering. 😕Also it does not help when the same drama is called by different names say: suspicious partner/partner in trouble.

      But nonetheless I finally get the correct full fprm after hours of brainstorming sessions…😄😄

I know Tanashiri was evil in the show but Baek Jin hee looks gorgeous here!! 🙂

    I loved Tanashiri and became a fan of Baek Jin Hee. I felt bad for her and the show became less enjoyable without her.

        BJH made her so endearing adding more to the great character’s writing. I didn’t like some things happening after death because I wanted to spend more time on Nyang as Empress Ki. I won’t tell more but I felt the hole she left.
