Hahahah. Ok, didn’t care too much about it then. But now that you’ve mentioned it, it’s quite funny.

Am I the ONLY person who didn’t hate Fashion King?

Umm how to put it…? To me it was so bad, it was good. Like about halfway through I stopped caring about how stupid everyone was and laughed at the ridiculous outfits, makjang tropes and insanity of it all. I even laughed at the wtf ending. Some people seem to think the ending is what makes it bad, but I thought the ending fit pretty well with the show as a whole (I still think it meant to imply that both Shin Se Kyung and Lee Je-hoon’s characters were in on the murder of Yoo Ah-in’s character, which is interesting to say the least). It was sort of like Dr. Jin I guess where if you stopped taking it seriously it was oddly enjoyable. It was definitely a memorable drama that I won’t ever forget. I don’t think I’d watch it again though because I think it’d be hard for me to find it as funny the second time.

“… Shin Se Kyung and Lee Je-hoon’s characters were in on the murder of Yoo Ah-in’s character”

WHAT?! WHAT?! I’ll have to watch part of that last episode again to see if I get that vibe.
I watched Ep1 years ago and dropped it but recently watched the entire series. Mainly cause I watch anything fashion-themed and Yoo Ah In. I think I was able to enjoy it cause 1) Yoo Ah In and 2) everyone said it was SOOOO BAD that I was prepared to hate it but just wanted to see more Yoo Ah In as he’s become one of my biases since I’d dropped it. So knowing it’s horrible going in made it not so bad. I just chalked it up to being a story about losers and a rare unhappy ending for Kdramas.

I’m going to check out your theory although I thought the female lead didn’t have enough backbone to kill Yoo Ah In. Then again, the very fact that she went wherever she was slightly tugged means she could have participated.

It could just be Shin Se Kyung’s bad acting, but the main reason I thought that was because she seems to react ever so slightly to hearing the gunshot over the phone (meaning she did hear it and it’s not some weird kdrama physics making it impossible to hear), but it seems like she expected it since she doesn’t freak out like most people would after hearing a gunshot then silence over the phone. Instead she just says she misses him which to me was her accepting his death and saying goodbye. I think Lee Je-hoon’s character’s father is the main person behind his death obviously, but I think the female lead and Lee Je-hoon knew about it and didn’t do anything to stop it. Like you said she doesn’t have enough backbone to kill him, but she also doesn’t have enough to stop him from being killed.

I didn’t hate it, I actually really enjoyed it up until the leads got together. Then I stopped watching because I already heard how it ended and I was already getting my heart broken by Six Flying Dragons. I’m still hoping that third time’s a charm for Shin Se-kyung and Yoo Ah-in to have a happily ever after.

I want to see them in a rom-com! Where they finally end up together and HAPPY! I did love SFD’s ending though. Bittersweet, just how I like it. 🙂

NO, I actually loved it. Maybe that’s because I knew the ending and actually cheered for Jae-Hyuk.
Even Ga-Young didn’t irritate me, after some point it looked like she liked Jae-Hyuk, but couldn’t give up on Young Gal.
In the end, she was the talented one, it is a pity that Young Gal preferred more shiny and confident girls.
Oh and I HATED young-Gal, this guy was all 50 shades of awful and it is coming from me, the person who likes underdogs and ambitious people.
Shin See Kyung explained that in the end Ga-Young didn’t hear the shooting so I thought Young-Gal committed suicide. I didn’t really felt any pity for him, he really got himself in troubles, used the girl he was supposed to love to steal money, left her in debts, was ashamed going with her on public, he wasn’t even that good of a designer or a loyal friend.

Sorry for my long answer, I watched this drama few months ago and REALLY wanted to share my thoughts…

No, I wanted to hear what others ‘ think of it and the length of your answer was just right!

Although, he couldn’t have committed suicide because we saw how he was killed. Unless you mean he paid the assassins himself? But then he must’ve forgotten or set it up in a drugged-out haze because he was telling SSK’s character that he was coming home to S.K.

Is it because I watched with Russian subs? I rewatched this scene and he asked Ga Young if she wanted to come to him (In New York), in the end she didn’t agree but admitted missing him (like there was still a part of her which loved him but she wouldn’t act on it?)
I think, I understood it as a suicide because Young-Gal with champagne and in drunken state, wearing some fur got in a pretty pool. Shiny death with a glass of alcohol for bravery and last call to the person you were most important to. It also felt weird that assassin had zero problem getting in such a rich house. I know fashion King wasn’t always logical but wasn’t there any security? Plus, Young-Gal admitted that he was happy for Ga-Young’s happiness, even if he asked her if she missed him it still felt like he simply wanted to hear that answer and knew that whatever he says wouldn’t change anything. It was already the end for him

Thanks, nerdy. I’d forgotten that he wanted her to come to him, not the other way around. I am going to rewatch that last episode to see if I get the same feel from it that you described.

I absolutely loved Five Kids, although I was actually the main couple who sold it to me. I think Yeon-tae and Sang-min’s marriage was pushed too quickly.
