Laundry service eh? You old! Lol. Jk, jk. Whenever, Wherever was my introduction to her. I has her music in loop back in the day. Her older stuff is pretty cool.
I actually have some of Julieta Venegas’ songs in my playlist 🙂 I think Shakira’s most popular songs are the ones that are more upbeat and pop. But she has so many more that are just mellow like this. Those are my favorites.
I do know Juanes! 😀 I had ‘Para tu Amor’ on a loop for weeks the first time I heard it. I also like Jessy y Joy, Kany Garcia, Dani Martin, Mana. I’ve been told my taste is somewhat dated, especially with Mana. Do you know them?
Mariposa traicionera, Labios Compartidos, Vivir sin aire, Amor Clandestino, Bendita Tu Luz, Eres mi religión, Clavado en un bar, Rayando el sol, and Oye mi amor…so yup, I know them 😉. I’ve heard of Jessy y Joy, but I don’t know the other two.
Since you like older music, what about Enanitos Verdes and their rendition of Tu Carcel? There’s also Bacilos and their songs Caraluna and Mi Primer Millon. I absolutely love Andrés Calamaro and his song Flaca. Do you know Reik? Pandora introduced me to all the songs many many years ago.
Also, talking about Shakira, I was reminded of Selena–ever watched the movie?
:O Tu Carcel and Caraluna are literally the only songs I have from these artists. I discovered them on Pandora as well and never explored the artists other music, I just really liked those songs. Reik’s Inolvidable was the first Spanish song I learned from start to finish when I was learning the langauge 😀
I don’t know Andres Calamaro, but I will check him out. Selena was really sad, I cried at the end of the movie. I love her music too. It’s a pity she died so young and in such a way.
I love Dido, was just listening to her yesterday. Her first two albums were in constant rotation when they came out while I was in high school and uni. I still pull them out when I’m feeling nostalgic.
Also, if you haven’t heard it, the song “Paris” is so beautiful and haunting (it was the B-side on the “White Flag” single).
Thanks for the recommendation! I just listened to it. I like the haunting quality in a lot of her songs, like “Don’t Leave Home” and “Life for Rent.” I knew a couple of her popular songs before, but I never really explored her as an artist until recently.
She’s talking primarily about Chinese dramas here, but like she says, this includes Korean dramas too. I must say the love triangle/square etc. trope gets tired when it’s in practically EVERY drama.

This is what I imagine Won to be saying to both San and Rin, but especially Rin. Title: The One with the Bad Luck

Any Spanish speakers/Shakira fans? This song is dedicated to Rin and Won and their epic, tumultuous love 🙂 😉 😀

Hehehe. This song is pretty good though. Very mellow, very different to what I know her music to be. Have you ever heard of Julieta Venegas btw?

@natana: She’s been in the business a long time with a pretty extensive discography, so I would doubt it.
That’s awesome you know Julieta Venegas. I love her music. Limón y Sal and Sí are two of my favourite albums.
Last one, do you know/like Juanes?

yass spanish speaker and Shakira’s “La Tortura” gives me life lol…”no pido que todos los viernes sean de fiesta…”
Que pases buen viernes!
I haven’t watched The King Loves but am looking forward to reading reviews once it’s over as to whether or not to add it to my list!

😀 The sass in La Tortura is what gets me, like “no solo de pan vive el hombre, y no de excusas vivo yo…” La Loba is is another one I really like.
You should definitely wait until The King in Love is over. Right now I’m just sticking to recaps.

A character can be in love (obsessively even) and still be capable of thinking of other things…Like power, and ruling a kingdom.

Tell me about it! I am allergic to it, especially when it’s the only plot device in a drama.
