I loved Moonbok’s shoutout to Hyunwoo. I was proud of Lai Guanlin too. Of course Jonghyun and Taemin were great as well. Their performance was the better rap performance on today’s episode. Dance was the Shape of You performance and vocals was Seongri’s, and although I really liked the arrangement of Playing With Fire, the guitar bit was a bit unnecessary, especially because he played a few bars, then didn’t play for the rest of the song.
IKR! I thought I was going to cry too when I saw Hyunwoo in the audience. I liked Playing with Fire more, but only because of Baekho. LOL. (I didnt really think much of him before, but Sangnamja was just too sexy to ignore. *bad noona, bad*) I also wished Sewoon either didn’t play the guitar or played it the whole time but I guess they had some choreo so that would be hard.
I’m actually Dongho and Jonghyun biased (in Nu’est), but I didn’t let my bias stop me from acknowledging that the other vocal team, overall, had better vocals than the Playing with Fire team.
Lee Daehwi, and Minki were not as vocally great as Sewon and Dongho, and I felt at times, Sewon and Dongho went a little nasal. In the other team, Yongguk’s tone fit the song choice perfectly, and Seongri was the best in my opinion – he was quite stable and did well as the main vocal. Yehyeon did a good job with arrangement. Jinwoo, I feel, is more suited to RnB than ballad.
Noh Taehyun did a great job with the choreo. It was a great power performance. I don’t know how you felt, but for me, other than Taehyun, the other team members didn’t get a chance to show too much of their dance skills individually.
In that sense, I think Eunki did a great job as a leader of the other team and gave each of the members their own time to shine.
I agree w u on that part it was powerful but it was also seemed like: noh taehyun & “the others”
I skipped a lot of practice parts since i couldnt understand unsubbed & went straight to performance so i didnt get to review who d members were, so i only knew a few. Hahaha. Will have more time to rewatch later.
I don’t have time to watch it subbed and raw, and I’m too impatient not to watch the raw. Thank goodness I have a basic enough grasp on Korean to understand what they’re saying somewhat.
It’s okay to skip the practice bits, because many times, the producers are just trying to create drama where there isn’t.
Im curious about the rankings that’s floating around the net. Is that for the live performance only? or like real time with the online? So JR is #1? DAEBAK.
Sad about the talented ones dropping rank though. 🙁 🙁 🙁 #heartbreak
He’s 1 in realtime with the votes. There are a few talented ones that have dropped, but there are also many talented ones that have gone up the ranks (and thankfully a few not-as-talented ones have fallen down as well).
kpopinfo114 is my best resource for idol profiles. They’re great at linking previous groups members might’ve been from and they only use reliable sources.
The wikipedia page for Broduce 101 is great because you can sort trainees according the different columns.
Yup! Blind as a bat, they say. Not proud of it, but w/o my glasses, I can’t see anything. I’m too scared (and too broke, lol) to try contacts, but I’m definitely interested in getting lasik surgery done in the future. We’ll see. Literally. Haha.
I’m not really sure how her contact popped out like that though, I’ve never had something like that happen? Her finger must have been ON her eye to have the contact be “wiped” out when she wiped the tear from her eye lol.
Seriously. There have been moments when I have been forced to pry the contact out of my eye. I have basically given up on contacts anyways. Glasses are so much easier!!
Lol all this is so me 😛 I even made a post on my fan wall a little while back about how I had to chop an onion to moist my eyes enough for them to pop out kkkk.
I loathe wearing glasses, but dry eyes means I easily get eye-infections and so I don’t get to wear my contacts a whole lot *sigh*
Oh the woes of the less-sighted are many 😛
HAHA. Luckily, I’m not quite as blind (pretty close though lol), but I think anyone who has contacts understands the struggles of this character already, hehehe.
An incoming first year evaluated our conference as AVERAGE (in everything! Venue, Food, Lectures, EVERYTHING!) when everyone else, senior attendings too, gave us a “good & excellent”. Uh, excuse me?
She even rated a lecturer as “Needs Improvement”. Liek, were you even listening? Her topics were fresh and she shared information from the international convention they attended.
I kind of get it. The first two vocal parts were really shaky with pitch problems, one of the rappers was rather weak and the overall performance was rather forgettable to me. They need to either wow with skills or with stage presence and they didn’t really do much of either in my opinion.
I think they wowed enough with skills & stage presence. Even the vocal coach thought their vocals were great & DongSu wasn’t even a rapper but he did well. But there was no gimmick, no abs, no winking, no acrobatics, not enough drama.

The vocal trainers aren’t perfect and it’s a show – sometimes they’ve honestly said some really weird stuff, like most panels/judges in music shows. Sometimes there’s some “magic” editing going on or they’re trying to cater to a certain plan. At one point one of the vocal trainers even said about one of the boys that “he couldn’t sing at all”, which was odd to me, because he honestly wasn’t that bad. Then later in the ep the trainer was shocked to find out that the kid actually did well in the performance video. So… The trainers aren’t always right. The fact that they praised their vocals does not mean that the guys didn’t go off pitch at times.
And the whole winking etc, is a really big part of kpop. I can’t think of a single group who doesn’t do some things like that, no matter how talented. It’s just how the industry works *shrugs*

Whether you feel a performer’s stage presence or not can be really subjective, I think, I just didn’t feel it 🙂 If that guy’s not a rapper, then that’s obviously a different case, he did well for a non-rapper.
The vocal trainers aren’t perfect and it’s a show – sometimes they’ve honestly said some really weird stuff, like most panels/judges in music shows. Sometimes there’s some “magic” editing going on or they’re trying to cater to a certain plan.
