I finished I Remember You. That ending. I don’t know what to think. Throughout the drama, it was weird seeing murderers and the family members of the victims just chilling together ._.
There were so many awkward teas/dinners in that show. I loved how everything would look so normal on the surface but there was this unspoken tension just underneath.
I recommend going to ep 16 recap… you will find quite a lot food for thought there! Great review and then interesting discussions in the comments thread..
I Remember You was a good drama with a cast who did a great job. That ambiguous feeling elicited by the ending is most likely by design. The drama offered points to discuss throughout, while the viewer is watching. The ending is such so that the discussion can continue well after it’s over. At least that’s the impression I got.
I loved this drama! Honestly those dinner scenes were to die for (hur)! So much subtext, so much underlying threat and hostility. But above it all, a meeting of minds. Granted some creepy ass minds those were. But a genuine meeting of minds between 3 people who are not quite so different, and yet the little differences they do have are what separates from from another. Man from monster. It makes for some riveting conversations. And man, that stellar acting from all sides but specially from Park Bo Gum, Won‑Young Choi the creepy ajusshi, and D.O/ Do Kyung-Soo.
