Yesterday was my younger sister birthday, the funny story behind her birth is that my mom wanted my sis to arrive a week later on 9th September, so that both my sis and I will share the same birthday, but I guess my sister has always been an impatience kind of person since born. She gets mad because every year she has to celebrate her birthday a week later on my birthday (to save money my parents said), she said she wanted her own cake with her name only (really egoistic kid), but this year she is thrilled since I’m 523km away from her so she could have her own cake. Since I couldn’t have the cake, I decide to buy it myself. Happy birthday to the one who introduce me to korean cultures!
I sent the picture above to my sis to let her know that I’m celebrating her birthday, it ended with her teasing me for being too cheesy😑 on behalf of my sis thank you🙏
My daughter and niece are only two days apart, so many birthdays the whole family ends up at grandma’s house to celebrate both birthdays. But my mom always insists on buying two small cakes. However, when they were little they did have separate parties, and when my daughter turned 15 instead of a quinceañera party she opted for dinner at a Japanese restaurant with her friends. I do feel sorry for people that are born on Christmas though, because their day never seems to stand out from the holiday celebrations.
I guess the positive thing that comes out of it is that we have a lot of people to celebrate, people we dont see on daily basis gather on your birthday is somewhat moving. I do feel sorry too for people that are born on a big holiday, I once celebrate my birthday on Eid Fitr day, not a single person congratulates me that day:(

That’s so sad. At least the holiday does not have a fixed date, so you don’t have to suffer year after year.
