I finished Gaksital’s finale 30 minutes ago and until now I still cannot grasp / put into words everything it made me feel. Ep1-finale. ++ I was bawling for like 20mins after credits. IT. WAS. SUPERB.
What an amazing ride it was, watching this drama. The intensity in every episode. Like, I knew KT is the lead, but I always fear for his life (and every one else’s). And Shunji, ohmygosh, Shunji. This drama definitely deserves a standing ovation!
I didn’t breath for the first 8 episodes because it was so intense. Not being sure that the lead will make it to the end was good and at the same time frightening.
Shunji.. arrgh my heart broke for the first time watching a Kdrama. It made me crave for more dramas set in this area.
I feel like in every episode, there’s a moment where I forget to breathe! Shunji’s character is so tragic. Mygoodness. And his last moment with KT. 💔 Have you watched other dramas with the similar setting?
Their broken friendship hurt too much.
With similar setting there are Basketball, Inspiring Generation, Chicago Typewriter and that’s it I think. Basketball was mess so I dropped. IG had a good beginning but went nowhere at time passed. CT is the best story wise but only a part of the drama takes place during Japanese Occupation.

I never imagined their friendship to turn out the way it did in the beginning of the drama. Now I get why you said “brace yourself.”
Oh yes! The only one I watched with the similar setting was CT and I loved it! 😊

Truly one of dramaland’s (and Joo Won’s) best. This drama will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️
