A frank, stylish rom-com about friendship, love, sex, and dating that manages to be fun but not frivolous.

Fun, but didn’t manage to capture the magic of the first, both in the friendship department and in the romance department.

Sexy, feel-good romantic comedy with another relatable contemporary heroine, as the franchise promises. Not many noona romances are sizzling, but this one lights some sparks.

Intriguing mix of mystery and dark humor, with refreshing characters connected by an intricate web of relationships. Sadly underrated.

A fascinating take on serial killers, and what makes a monster. Slickly executed and well acted, though it left me wanting more development for all the characters.

This mini-drama packs a lot of emotion and growth into two short episodes. The characters are riddled with flaws and full of sharp edges, but rather than being unlikable I found them eminently relatable. The show's tone has an appealing grittiness and realistic touch.

It feels like the director showed up prepared to turn this into another sparkling and heartfelt rom-com a la Oh Hae-young Again, but the writer forgot to come up with a sensical story. The heroine was so startlingly off-putting that it almost overrode my love of Yeon Woo-jin’s nuanced and emotional performance, which would have been a shame to have missed. Too bad it was wasted on a subpar drama with convoluted revenge schemes and emotionally illogical characters.

    - javabeans

Yeon Woo-jin is great as the shy, overthinking boss, but almost everything else about this drama falls flat, including the heroine, the romance, and the story.

Some smoldering performances decorate this explosion-packed action series but the writing gets spotty. More style than substance, a fun ride with eye candy.

Been there, done that. But it’s definitely slick and fun, if you don’t care about gaping plot holes.

This may either be really your type of drama, or really not. Genuinely quirky sense of humor with absurdist comic-book sensibility. Was a laugh-out-loud winner for me; might be a total pass for others.

Okay, this show isn’t good. It’s got the potential to be, but is marred by poor acting and weird pacing—it’s like a highlight reel of a longer family drama. Yet, oddly, it draws you in with its good-naturedness and warmth.

Unexpectedly hilarious and touching. Playful, witty dialogue, easygoing chemistry, and a whimsical directorial touch take this a notch above standard rom-coms. Jo Jung-seok positively sparkles in this.

A solid B-list drama. Strengths are its light comedy and the hero’s cute backup team. The villains and romance are its weaknesses.

Good for the laughs, not so much for the effects. Cha Tae-hyun is winning as always.

Gorgeously shot, well-acted, engaging use of history—just a bit less exciting than I’d wished for. Consistently solid storytelling, but I would’ve taken lower lows to get higher highs.

Ridiculous characters, beat-you-over-the-head simplistic with its outrageous conflicts. This is makjang in the most dumbed-down way, but there’s a silly entertainment factor that kicks in once you stop caring or taking anyone seriously.

The Joseon storyline gives the drama its emotion and heart, while the modern-day scenes give us comedy and romantic cuteness. Didn’t grip my attention the way I really wanted it to, but Lee Min-ho surprised me with his unexpected dorky-comedic turn, which alone made this worth the watch.

Has all the right ingredients but lacks that extra magical sparkle that made You From Another Star so special, and the comparison is hard to shake.

Still got the endearingly glib Yoon Doo-joon and reels and reels of glorious food porn, but new cast populates this food-as-bonding drama. Low on conflict but lots of heart; new heroine Seo Hyun-jin is adorable and affecting and runs away with the show.

    - javabeans

At first I hated the idea of a sequel undoing the development in the first season, but Seo Hyun-jin is so lovable in this, and the friends-to-lovers romance totally got me. Now I like the second season more than the first. Who knew!

I’d said that the funny, flirty spy-romance movie should be made into a drama. I take it back. Silly in the extreme, with no sense to speak of. How are these people functional adults, much less secret agents?

I wished for a more sophisticated execution, a little more cleverness in the plots and underground vigilante missions—the show felt a little rough around the edges. But the episodes moved fast, the missions delivered satisfying payoffs, and there was crackling conflict-slash-bonding between the team members; Kim Young-kwang's character in particular was an intriguing almost anti-hero.

Brisk start descends into weepy melodrama with birth secrets, family strife, and a Love That Cannot Be that’s more like a Love That Should Not Be. By the end I couldn’t stand it. Oh! The! Tragedy!
