I thought the trailer looked boring, so I wasn’t keen even though there was so much buzz. I started and wasn’t blown away immediately. It was around episode 3 where the drama got my attention and from there, no looking back. It’s rewarding, so give it time.
Hey, mango! “Nirvana in Fire” is pretty good! The scenery is gorgeous too! I speak Chinese, so that helped me a lot, but even for non-Chinese speakers, I’d recommend that you stick with it. Maybe this character profile post will help you remember people? http://jolecole.blogspot.com/2015/02/nirvana-in-fire-character-profile.html
If I didn’t remember wrongly, they had a textbox with the character’s name in it whenever he/she came onscreen for the first time in the episode and this was done in every episode. Maybe these weren’t translated.
I’m currently rewatching BOF and I still have no idea what the other 2 members of F4s names are. When I want to talk about them I call them F3 and F4. Or I look their names up online.
I’m in season 4 of the US show Empire and I still don’t know everyone’s name in that show. But….I have a crap memory. So that’s part of it.
I didn’t remember F3 and F4 names in the Japanese adaptation LOL
I’m bad with real people names too but quite confident with characters. It’s weird I know.
As long as you recognize the actors/actresses that’s good 🙂
Oh, I’m also bad with real people’s names–adults especially. I used to do children’s services and kids introduce themselves to you 50,000 times. Id be in programs and its all, “YAY KAITLYN’S HERE! And….her…grownup…Hi grownup?”

I’ve watched the first 15 minutes of Nirvana in Fire and can’t remember characters names. Is it normal ?

It’s not normal. Normal is when you finished the first and second episode and still can’t remember the names.

I guess I should watch the two episodes then 🙂

I’ve read that it takes time to get into it. It’s just that following the characters is hard when you don’t know their names.

You’ll get a hang of it somehow!

I’ve once watched 3/4 of a drama, and I still could not remember any of the characters name (except for the pet)
so trust me, this is nothing.

HAHA The pet must have been the most important role.
I’m glad it won’t stop my drama watching.

HAHA That’s why I don’t want to do something where I have to learn a lot of people names.
