I love Shiny Boy! It’s so upbeat and perfect for Joy. That doesn’t mean that i don’t like the other one but i don’t understand why they keep calling it “not good enough”
Umm, i feel like its definitely catchy but at the same time i find it grating. I love the song Gyulie composed for Yoona tho, and I cant wait to hear the final version of Waiting for You. I have a feeling it will be brilliant!
I know! I’m desperately waiting for that song. I know it will come eventually 🙂 We just gotta wait for it.
Personally, Shiny Boy does happen to be my least favorite on the ost so far because it’s just not as much my style. But I still think it’s a cute song.
I haven’t watched ep2 of PD101S2 but can’t help wondering what would they name the final 11? Can’t be I.O.I…2? coz duh that’s gonna suck. LOL. (im thinking too far ahead, LOL) #randomlybored
When I first heard that the pronunciation for the girls was i o i, I didn’t think it was unfortunate like someone else had said (I think on dramabeans) because I had thought they would call themselves L o L.
I can’t sleep / study. Hence, I shall flood this little tiny corner I’ve got here. Lemme start with some K-(English?)-hiphop. I just love the lyrics here.
Not drama, more of Kpop. I just watched ep1 of Produce 101S2 and …O.M.G.
TOO MANY OPPAS. (Im actually an ahjumma already but Reply1988 did say as long as they’re handsome, they’re Oppas) #thesekids
Most of the guys look the same to me lol. They’re cute lil boys, but that’s about it, don’t think that many of them are actually adults yet. Well, except for the Rain-dance guy 😛 That shirt-thing made me cringe so bad though!
What do you think about the quality of the trainees? I could certainly see why so many were given low grades, but I’m thinking TLAHL might be right about it all being fixed lol, cause some of it didn’t make much sense 😛 And I felt so bad for NU’EST even if they weren’t great and even though I don’t follow them. It must be so humiliating for them.
Some stood out to me, like Justin & Samuel (who are BABIES), but Ong Seung Woo (?) from Fantagio is definitely talented. And another vocal from Starship I think? Forgot his name.
I do think some of it is fixed. But talent is definitely there. Too early to say about quality of the batch though… will see in a few more eps. Ahaha. #judgy
I didnt know about NU’EST, but I can definitely see that their experience crushed them. The performance wasnt horrific… but it was depressing! I hope even if they don’t make it to the top11, they’ll still end their run with renewed love of their music/dance.
Samuel and Ong Seung Woo/won? are among the only ones I remember. Oh and some of the kids from the group that volunteered to go first. They seemed like an actual group with a cute-concept and a few of them showed a lot of personality. Don’t remember how good they were lol, but the concept thing really works apparently.
NU’EST weren’t horrific no, but it was bad enough to make me want to look away. I think some of it was due to the fact that they have more at stake, so more nerves. Just them having survived for FIVE years means something about their talent, so many groups debuting all the time, so most never make it that far. But the fact that they’re experienced may actually turn out to be a disadvantage to them, as they’ll have bad habits that can be hard to fix + expectations are higher. I hope they renew their drive and joy too and hopefully have at least one guy make it to the end. Otherwise it’ll definitely be career-kill I think…
If you check out the uncut version of Nu’est’s performance, you’ll see it actually wasn’t bad. It’s mainly the editing that made it seem horrific. https://youtu.be/oFNCRm6yYoI
I actually haven’t checked out season 1, but from most of the comments, the girls were (probably edited to be) less friendly with each other, and this season is a lot more relaxed.
As for Nu’est, and some of the other trainees that have debuted before, I think that they’re not on the same level as other non-debuted trainees. Non-debuted trainees tend to have the rookie-mindset. I’m not saying that Nu’est and the other boys aren’t hardworking, or aren’t as desperate, but the fact that they’re already debuted means they’ve been out of the trainee mindset/routine (which you mentioned in your comment below regarding Nu’est). It’s like when someone takes time off from studying and they find it difficult to get back in the groove of things. Most of the independent trainees were a lot better than those with companies, but they didn’t rank high in the voting or the grading.
And, yes, there is definitely some fixing involved. Many who were quite stable or could be heard over the backtrack were given low grades, while some who couldn’t really be heard were given higher ranks. There were a few performances were the focus was definitely on one or two trainees from the company and the others were there just to help them out (IT ent. company’s trainees really stood out in that sense. The pink haired guy was the main focus showing off his dancing and singing skills while the other trainee barely got lines and had very little to do in terms of dance.)
I don’t think it’s career suicide for Nu’est, but if all of them get into the final lineup, it’ll be okay. However if only one or two end up in the final lineup, it’ll be difficult to see Nu’est continuing on, which makes me really sad.
I totally get that going-back-to-the-groove difficulty. Like how Im taking it really easy right now and not accepting too much clinic work. (Because of my exam) Because I know once I start ALL the clinics/hospitals, I wont be able to open my basic books anymore. It’s truly different world when you’re a “student” vs when you’re out into the bad, bad world.
I didnt watch S1 even after discovering IOI, but I marathoned the whole thing after watching episode1 of S2. Im not sure about being “less friendly” though. The girls seemed okay to me. I think I read somewhere in soompi comments on how this season had more behind the scene scandals (contestants dropping out) & there was even one (I forgot if it was a comment or part of the article?) on how there was “discrimination” / bullying among the boys before the Pick Me broadcast, which is why the people in the comments section said they felt uncomfortable watching it.
I watched the full performance of Nu’est and omg wow, you’re right!…The editing made it look so sad. Tsktsk. 🙁
