FNC’s new band debuted ! The song is good for spring and I say this when there’s no spring where I live XD It’s cute and fresh. I need to listen to more of them before giving a clear opinion.

Cute. FNC do bands the best when it comes to the Kpop scene. I think when they get some experience and maybe a chance to be whatever they feel like is them (if that ever happens), they could do really well. The problem with kpop bands is that bands are more dependent on the group actually liking the songs they play. Right now their instruments aren’t really creating a very choherent whole which is also something I noticed with Day6, but it’s not too bad and will hopefully change as they get more comfortable.

It’s interesting how it’s not really a band-sound for most of the song. But that’s the same with N.Flying from what I’ve heard.

And they’ve definitely got a different vibe from the other FNC bands, I think, so that’s good.

Sorry, that was rambling lol 😛

About the band-sound if I didn’t know they were a real band I would think it was just a traditional kpop group. It’s good that they are different from other FNC’s bands I just hope they will find their sound unless they want to stick with a cute/fresh sound.

Yeah, same. It’s a shame, but kind of makes sense. Except for CNBlue and FTI in the beginning of their career, real band sound doesn’t usually do too well. Except Busker Busker, did they have bandsound? Haven’t listened to them much.

FNC tends to be good at giving their groups direction and a sound. Whether or not that’s the sound they want lol. But I hope too, that if this is not the kind of music they like (and tbh grown men wanting to be cutesy would be surprising to me lol), they’ll get a chance to figure out their own sound in maybe a couple of years when they know what they want.

I don’t listen to Busker Busker much but their indie sound fits Korean taste like 10cm.

I doubt they want to keep this cute sound too but for now they can go with it to gain fans. They were in survival program I think so I might listen to their performances to hear what they can offer. The thing with FNC is that if a groups gains attention from the public with their original sound, they will let them go on like with CN Blue. Whereas in FT Island case, they had to match the Korean audience taste for years and had to go in Japan to explore their real sound. I hope HONEYST will soon find their song AND that it will be popular enough to keep it.

I tried watching d.o.b, but v-live isn’t a great place to air such long eps, because you have to be certain that you can watch it one go, otherwise you’re screwed lol. So I quit. But the ones I did see were fun when their sunbaes were a part of it.
They did fine on the show, but really… they had that issue of not sounding like a cohesive whole and the singing was somewhat weak.

Yeah, exactly. I’m so happy FTI finally got to go with their own sound all the way, just like CNB, but it’s a real shame that Koreans seem to have such similar taste in music that they can’t seem to get popular again. But at least they’re really popular in Japan, so that’s always something..
Ah yes, that would be ideal!

But I also just hope FNC will learn to handle all their groups well at the same time and not just focus on Honeyst and then move on to whatever new group comes next etc. I think that also plays a big part in why a lot of their groups do well in the beginning and then kind of fade out. Even CNB doesn’t seem to be all that hot these days.

FNC’s management… I don’t know if I should cry or be angry. They debuted their first dance boy group recently (they won the survival right ?) and Nflying have made no comeback since their debut. CN Blue have more individual activities and are more popular like that now. FTI have their 10th anniversary album and AOA might comeback after ChoA’s recovery. That’s a lot going on for the compagny and imo it was not the best time to debut them. Let’s see what will happen to them.
