Looking for recommendations!

Not really a fan of sageuks but lately I feel like I want to watch one. So far, I’ve only seen Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Arang and the Magistrate, Gu Family Book, The Princess’ Man, Jang Ok Jung, The Moon That Embraces The Sun, Mirror of the Witch, Hwarang, Love in the Moonlight, My Sassy Girl.

Any recommendations what sageuk to watch next, my dear Beanies? The lesser the drama, the better? 😊

Have you seen Queen Inhyun’s Man? It’s part saeguk.

Yah that one I’ve seen already. I didn’t really consider it sageuk because Kim Bong Doo spent most of the drama in the present timeline 😂

What do you mean ‘lesser the drama’? Because that will impact what recommendations I give lol XD

If you’re looking for a small amount of episodes, then I recommend “Seven Day Queen” =) It has a moderate amount of episodes, 20, but the story is jam-packed, it never feels like it is lagging, it will keep you at the edge of your seat, and you will definitely feel for the characters =)

👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 It’s a rare sageuk where even all the political scenes had meaning and actually contributed to the plot of the drama 😊

By lesser drama I mean lesser drama. 😂😂😂 Like not that much melodrama 😂 I have this connotation that sageuks are usually overly melodramatic 😂

I recommend Rebel Thief Who Stole The People, if you are yet to try it. The only sageuk that I loved and finished this year..The light and heavy moments are well-balanced. I also love that the romance is not the only relationship focused in this drama.

Queen Inhyun’s Man or Rooftop Prince. Both are fusion sageuks involving time travel romance. Rooftop Prince does have more comedy while Queen has more super cute moments. Both are actually pretty good, light sageuks and you will probably like them if you aren’t too into repetitive political mechanisms.

Thanks for this 😊 I’ve actually seen both already. Did not really consider both dramas as sageuk because most of the drama was set in present times 😊😊😊

If you don’t like drama, I would definitely not recommend Hwarang. It was a painful 20 hours that did not deliver the bromance and the cute that it promised 🙁

The Moon that Embraces the Sun is pretty dramatic too, and the story wears kind of thin. But it’s a drama that has some really unforgettable scenes for me, so I don’t regret watching it.
