My first post, should be about the “first k-drama in my life which:”
– is my 1st drama ever : Autumn Fairy Tale
– changed my fan girl life : Queen Seon Deok
– introduced me to DB : Six Flying Dragons
Greetings! Let’s see my…
1st drama-Boys over flowers (yes, I did watch and I am rewatching right now)
Changed my fangirl life-mmm…probably My name is Kim Sam Soon and You from another star- I became a serious kdrama fan after watching those two dramas back to back.
Introduced me to dramabeans-hard to say, I cannot remember but I know I watched My name is Kim Sam Soon because of this site.
Hello @kabsy nice to know more about you 🙂 BOF seems like the 1st k-drama for most international fangirl. Many of my friends in high school back then started to watch k-drama after BOF aired in our country, and I was so happy to gain more friends and swooning with them (and most of them were fangirling over Kim Bum rather than LMH). I did really enjoy it too, but I’m not sure if I’d have the strength to re-watch it like you do 🙂
I worked out most beanies here started watching between 2009-2011, the second wave of kdramas with Boys over flowers, Secret Garden, You’re beautiful. Of course many started with earlier dramas like you with the first wave, Winter Sonata, Autumn Fairytale and a bit later, Coffee Prince. I started in about 2012 and definitely preferred Kim Bum over LMH and still do. What are your top ten favourites and your favourite genres??
1. Autumn Fairy Tale
2. Jewel in the Palace
3. Goong/Full House
4. Queen Seon Deok
5. Master’s Sun/Kill Me Heal Me
6. Pinocchio
7. Six Flying Dragons
8. Two Weeks/Signal
9. Oh Hae Young/Age of Youth/Reply Series/Scarlet Heart
10. Rebel
My top ten fav listed from older dramas to my most recent. Some dramas in one number mean I can’t pick only one (or I’m just greedy like that.. hehe..), and I will provide some more rooms for newer dramas (Live Up to Your Name is one of the candidate to be my fav)
What’s yours, @kabsy ? What are your preferences in choosing your top favorites? I chose them because they gave me a deep impression and so much feelings that will still last for a long time after they were gone..
I’m fine with most genres, as long as they can keep my interest to continue watching them until the very end, but if I have to choose one then I’ll go with rom-com 🙂 how about you?
For me it is about shows that have touched my heart and that I found heartwarming, healing, life affirming and just a joy to watch really. And that I want to go back to again and again and remind me why I watch dramas. There are some shows I do love but just would not put on the list like Jealousy Incarnate but here is the list..
1. Weightlifting fairy
2. Flowers for my life
3. My name is Kim Sam Soon
4. You from another star
5. Answer me 1997/Answer me 1988
6. Queen InHyun’s man/7 day queen
7. Healer/Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim
8. Splash Splash Love/ love in the moonlight
9. I hear your voice
10. Indivualist Ms Ji Young
I tend to favour slice of life, romcoms, romantic dramas, fantasy fusion..many of your dramas are on my watchlist, Another Oh Hae Young, Rebel, Queen Seon Deok…
