Secret Forest, Shi Mok, you ruthless bastard, the girl could’ve died and Eun Soo, you’re smart but totally crazy, only one normal is Yeo Jin who is by Shi Mok thankfully
Glad that you’re mentionning FOS. I just finished watching the episode and I want to talk about it so badly. LOL
In fact, I particulary want to talk about Eun Soo. I get the impression that because people like YJ more, she is getting some hate for ridiculous reasons. Peole find her creepy, horrible, stupid (I was actually shocked because I thought it was clear that she was smart) and so one. And honestly I was more impressed by her dertermination than anything else in this episode. So I was wondering if I was biased or something like that because I can’t really understand them.
I am really loving all the characters here, even the bad ones because they are all doing a good job at their own way.
No, I really wouldn’t say that she is stupid, just reckless. That people think she is creepy I can understand a bit….at least she is really suspicious. It’s difficult to tell how deep she is involved in this. Her frantic reactions at times kind of worry me cause they show that she has something to hide and I don’t know what. For that reason I can’t really say that I appreciate her advances towards Shi Mok. He is “emotionless” and all but I’m still worried that she could cloud his judgement of her and then turn out to be actually a co-conspirator or something. He is suspicious of her now but I could see her maybe swaying him enough in a crucial moment and then betraying him. Or she could be actually just sweet and maybe have something to hide but is not be directly involved in any of this and is truly loyal to him. Difficult to tell.
I don’t find her creepy but it’s true, the way she handled SDJ would shock more than one. For now, even if she is really suspicious, I don’t think yet that she has something to hide but that she desperately want to get her revenge. It seems like, she is not interested by justice, she only want the chief prosecutor and his father in law to take the fall for the murders in order to avenge her dad and it’s kind of disturbing sometimes because she appears too self centered. Shi Mok said it himself, if she is willing to put her own life on the line for this case that means she could easily sacrifice other persons.
I don’t think so as far as Shi Mok is concerned, he is really in control of his emotions and he doesn’t trust her one tiny bit so I can’t imagine Eun Soo swaying him. But like you said, difficult to tell. I can’t help but doubt my theories and make new ones all the time. LOL
I know its hard to root for her given she is reckless but calling her stupid is stretching it too far. She almost always knows Shi Mok and his his intentions behind his actions. I am loving her dark, shady and slightly manipulative character. How many women character in dramaland actually have layers and are driven by their own agenda in stead of one sided love, think about it, close to zero. I am rooting for her to not be a villain but I am enjoying her trajectory. And I do believe the shipping war is ridiculous. Yeo Jin is a compelling character that has all the winning characteristics of an ideal protagonist. It helps that Bae Doona is also excellent. Its easy to like her and admire her. In terms of complexity, Eun Soo is richer…no offense to anybody. Also people tend to overlook the flaws of male protagonist in most cases. Shi Mok does questionable things as well that are down right scary. So the slightly gender biased harshness that I’ve seen online is off putting. But I take it with a grain of salt. The show is pre-produced, thankfully.
“I know its hard to root for her given she is reckless but calling her stupid is stretching it too far.” I couldn’t say it better. Almost agree about everything you said. Just that I would love to see her be the mastermind behind all of this but I doubt so.
Talking about Shi Mok’s actions, I think I caught sight of a smirk when Eun Soo was leaving his apartment on episode 8 and it left me perplexed ’cause I don’t know what to make of this but nobody is talking about it so I am thinking that maybe I am over-analyzing things.
By the way, does the show being pre-produced mean they can’t change anything? Not even replace some scenes?
