It's valid for 1 month after you activate it. But the code has an expiration date. So you need to activate it before May 15.

I got the code, thanks, but after looking through the site, and the FAQ, it seems that I can only activate it if I cancel my current membership, which is the legacy $3.99/month rate.

To the DB team, I've registered with Dramabeans and am still waiting for my VikiPass code to activate my free month VikiPass at Viki. Is there a problem at the moment with this which is why there is a delay. Been waiting for a few days now...
