Regarding reproductive freedom, I have no interest in being a brood mare at the behest of celibate old geezers -- or anyone else. It's none of their darn business. And it's none of my business how other folks run their lives.

While I know that religion is not a bugbear for you, you might know someone who would find the following useful.

Many years ago I happened across a terrific book with the provocative title Eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven: Women, Sexuality and the Catholic Church by German woman theologian Uta Ranke-Heineman. A very scholarly work that documented institutionalized misogyny in the Church... and its social and historical impact. Very enlightening. And it was comforting to see in black and white that some of my inklings were indeed correct. It was published in 1991.

Sorry to be out of touch for a spell. OH HAE YOUNG AGAIN -- and sleep deprivation -- caught up with me. OHYA turned into a real potboiler this week, and commenting on the recap threads has been enthusiastic and extensive. Oh, and fun.

Still haven't gotten to watch the director's cut of SUNNY for which you so kindly sent the link... but hope to get to it later today (5/27) or Sat. Haven't gotten back to SPLENDID POLITICS yet, either.
