I miss Shin-hyuk's beard. Siwon looks all model-smooth and his hair even looks shaved down (maybe for military service upcoming). For me, Siwon is pretty much squarely in the "uncanny valley" most of the time. So good looking in a stereotypical model way it's off-putting. As scruffy Shin-hyuk, I found him much more attractive and really fun.

Actually there was quite a bit I enjoyed, like her reverting back to the curly-haired, freckled hye jin of the past (or pre-Most,rather). Although I'm not a fan of the year long split, I quite liked the fact that she realized ( and vocalized! Hallelujah!) her wish to stay behind and follow her dreams ! And that proposal ! Their proposals! <3

@Tej I am with you on all the things you mentioned. But they were the only nice things in an otherwise boring episode. They sadly were not enough for me to ignore the overall filler vibes that this episode gave. And I always hate that year long separation trope in kdramas.

I have to make brutal confession for myself :
As much as my heart goes to PSJ and HJE, I STOP watching She was Pretty since the day Hye Jin picks up the phone in her new makeover look. Seriously. Damn it. I don't even have the 'eagerness' to click the new eps link to watch. Lazy.
And I don't plan to do so.
The rest eps looses its charms, and in the 1st place I never mind having makeover. Why? I confused myself as well. It's like Yong Pal all over again, after save Young Ae at ep.6, everything crumbles apart.
These 2 dramas is like Titanic. Is one thing, but the boat cracked into 2parts, right in the middle of runs. One still floating which 1-6/8-ish eps, and the rest-end already sinked in the water, and about times to pull down the best part of the boat drowning. Ruins the firstly good eps.
Is this new 'recipe' trend in late 2015?
Why show why? You should be good, why?
Oh and did I mention 'how' bland Goo Jun Hee's character aftermath? She should be one most interesting second lead female's charc ever written by!

Thats exactly my case. I stopped at that episode. The entire show seemed pointless when she got a makeover. I mean she could get it when she was about to meet SJ after years for the first time. And then why even make a show over it?

Yup, don't feel like clicking the latest 2 episodes. Don't like noble idiocracies and downplaying of 2nd leads.
But because of this, I bumped into 5 to 9, a J-drama. It's so much fun, hilarious with a good story line and of course with some absurdities (which Jdrama doesn't have that) but not overdone. Imagine a monk who found his life-time partner! Nice!

I actually don't mind the slow pace. Maybe it's just me, but I don't mind a slower drama full of more cute things LOL. We all know this is a light rom com not some epic thriller where I need more plot points and stuff. And although they took the year apart (Which I usually hate), i liked how the show handled it. They talked about and were realistic because if Hye Jin went with him or if he didn't go, that makes their character devlopment go backwards.

Currently Watching:
Sassy Go Go- The latest episode was the best one till now. Everyone deserves forgiveness. Even Soo Ah. And the team-ance wa oh so cute.
She Was Pretty- It was such a hilarious show. What happened to it? Did the writers really think saving Most would be more interesting after the central love conflict was resolved? I didn't laugh even once in the episode. And I am starting to get irritated of Hye Jin's silly smiles. It seems that's all she does and it seems fake now. I also miss the funny Shin Hyuk.
Because it's the first time- A really pretty and nice show. I love every moment when I watch it but I don't miss it later. Weird.
Recently finished:
Thank You- Amazing show but the last 3 episodes were draggy.
I Need Romance- Oh i loved the wo-mance:) and the Hyung from Heirs.
I Need Romance 2012- Not as good as the first but quite good in itself.
I want to watch What's Up because so many people recommended it but I dunno where to watch it.

Well, since we're going down that road again, it would be nice this time if people would actually pay attention to the meat of the narrative over the framing device, which we all accept as a trollish storytelling gimmick. While AM 1994 was very flawed, fandom ultimately ruined it for themselves.

Rules of Dating - Daring, thought-provoking and refreshing. I was thinking I'd get a rom-com but, well, I didn't. In fact, the romance is quite disturbing and well, unromantic. But it managed to take my heart despite my quibbles about it. Its characters were unlikeable yet complex and its message, heartfelt. The leads, Park Hae-il and Kang Hye-jung were undoubtedly great and I personally liked the visuals and the shaky hand-held. All in all, it was good but the ending? Let's just say it's not for everyone... And Kang Hye Jung, wow, i think she ages backwards. She looked so different then though I think it's the weight gain and hairstyle change.
I Am Sorry, I Love You - I don't know what to say. Latest ep was trying to be dramatic and all. But it didn't pull my heartstrings, in fact, none of the eps has done so. The hospital scene with Mother Ling was so ridiculous(ly funny). Shu Hai's teleportation and the shield thing made for some wtf-lols(I'm sorry, drama. I love you harhar). Fortunately, Si Yi finally slapped the jerk which, for me, was the best thing about this ep. And I'm pretty much convinced that Jasper and Bryant are the real OTP lol.
What's Up- Thanks, show, for filling the black hole in my heart and then leaving, thus making it bigger. Make up to me(us) with a Season 2!
Padam Padam- There no sound to my heartbeats because you broke it, show. Still, thanks for the happy ending. You're a miracle.
Healer - I don't know why the heck I put it on hold(twice!). The first time I watched, it was exam week. The second time, well, I don't know. I don't remember but it must have been because I didn't want it to end(was on ep 16). I guess, third time's the charm?
Misaeng - Rewatching it right now which marks a first. No matter how much I loved the show the first time, I haven't ever rewatched(I tried to rewatch Queen In hyun's Man but the editing, especially the split screens, which I loved the first time became distracting).
And Na PD should cast Song Joong Ki, Jo In Sung, Im Joo Hwan and Lee Kwang Soo for his next show. Then he should call it the Frozen Flower Boys(plus Kwangsoo) lol.

If you like makjang, try Glamorous Temptation.
I think is one best makjang out there (based on aired eps), the story quiet fresh, still have childhood love story (but is diff), the cast is quiet amazing even I have slightly worries about Choi Kang Hee , but it's delicious and one reward, heroine is not candy girl, no noble idiocy here.

You can go to one of the pages (let's say page 5 of the thread). Then edit the URL by replacing the page number (within the URL) by another page number (let's say replace 5 by 12). Then press ENTER to load the page. You may have to try a few times to find the right page. Also I don't remember if we need to put a zero, you may have to try it out (for ex, perhaps it should be 012 in the URL rather than 12).

Happy Friday!
Drama-wise:
Six Flying Dragons:
Awesome acting all around. Feel like watching 2 shows - Typical Sageuk and Fusion Sageuk. Some speaks in Sageuk tone, others speak in casual way. Also where is the king?- This is might be the only Sageuk show I have not seen the king in the royal court(so far).
I love Bang-ji(Byun Yo-han!). So I had to look up Tree with deep roots.
Lee Bang-ji: No 1 swordsman and only person defeated Mu-hyul. In ep 10, He was revealed as Jung Do-jeon's bodyguard. In ep 17, Mu-hyul mentioned Lee Bang-ji loved Jung Do-jeon's woman(Yeon-hee). During the first prince war(war amongst Lee Sung-gye's sons), Jung Do-jeon's woman became a hostage, LBJ went to save her, leaving JDJ. But she asked him to save Jung Do-jeon, and killed herself. However when LBJ returned, things were pretty much done (Jung Do-jeon was finished). Lee Bang-ji felt guilty (not saving his master or his love). Later, Jung Gi-jun (accused LBG as betrayer) brought Gapyi to murder Lee Bang-ji. They fought fiercely and LBG fell from the cliff. At the end of ep 19, He hid in Jo Mal-seang's room and even though JMS tried to save him, LBG eventually died in ep 20, saying he lived good warrior life. -I love SFD is making connections to TWDR.
Sassy go go:
Such delightful drama. I am glad it is making big waves overseas(especially in China). Lee Won-geun/Kim Yeol said he would choose love over friendship if he is real KY.
Dazzling temptation:
Makjang but interesting with mysteries. Love Joo Sang-wook who can be both funny and serious. Did you see his face when he went on the turtle ship ride in the amusement park? -adorkable.
Bubble gum:
Better than The time we... Looking at Jung Ryo-won here make me think that Ha Ji-woon was miscasted in that show.
She was pretty:
Glad it is finishing up soon because I am losing interest. The biggest shining star is Choi Si-won/Sin-hyuk who is now said to be the first Korean who has 5M followers to his twitter- @siwon407 (Congrats on Super Junior 10 year anniversary!)
They say three idols shinning the most currently-
Choi Si-won (SWP- they said he got his role tailored for him in SWP),
Yook Sung-jae (Village- Moon Geun-young complemented him he would be successful if he was an actor),
Jung Eun-ji (SGG- They say she was never a newbie acting-wise from the get go).
Other-
I love the variety shows where Actors/actresses act/talk cool or silly in their real life. For example, Lee Sang-woo (All about mom) is so quiet but talks forever if he is drunk, they say, Sim Hyung-tak(Let's eat) says the best thing being independent is that he can watch porn without care, Top(of Big Bang) has never worn short sleeves, never shower with other members out of shyness etc.
Then again, I assume entertainers can use these shows to manipulate their images (like they showed in Producer). In Mask singer, awesome singer Gyu-Hyun of Su Ju said because their group appear in many variety shows, people...

I reallyyy love Six Flying Dragons, and I start watching Empress Ki to feed my waiting.
Dazzling Temptation : Agree, I do think one of new creative makjang I've watched, but why Choi Kang Hee's acting makes me sick? sorry I love her, but I felt weird with her here, when she cried/sad or agitate, she looks horrible and her acting seems so 'acting' not natural, and so makjang-ness.
Can you recommend good variety shows nowadays?

Other people may be able to recommend good ones.
I do not watch many because I just can't seem to find time (drama takes up most of my free time). If I watch, I enjoy music shows (hidden singer, mask singer, Immortal songs) and Happy together (because it is mostly talking). I also used to watch 1N2D, Daddy where are we going etc.
And of course, the no.1 variety show for over 10 years in Korea is Infinity Challenge.
btw I agree. I like Choi Kang Hee, but she does bad in DT I think. Feel like she is not into her role.

I learned the general Choi Young is the most honest human being when I was in grade school (well beside general Yi Soon-shin). Village: Secret of Achiara - Watching this in bits and pieces only. ....... Nothing is particularly standing out for me, but that may just be me not watching it continuously enough to get into it. I dunno.
She Was Pretty - I'm still in the beginning episodes of this and so far I'm really, really enjoying this. ....... Loving Choi Siwon and his goofiness.

Waiting to see how SWP & SGG ends next week! I'm betting on one more angst for SWP before a HEA ending. While for SGG, 12 episodes really aint enough! Sigh. Me want more cheerleading! And more cuteness. And Yeol. :-P

Definitely awaiting Imaginary Cat.
As for Remember, given that it has 3 of the 5 main actors of WDBS, a JCW cameo, like mini reunions of WDBS and Healer, might tip the scale for me.

More importantly, the cat is voiced by an actress. Orange tabbies without any white patches are overwhelmingly male. A big female orange tabby is rare. I'm interested in this cat's issues and manifestation of such issues.

The ones I've seen are moderate sized orange tabbies. They were often female. However, I do note that in my region, animals are just smaller all round.
I remember being in the US and in Australia and seeing cats the size of our dogs (medium big), dogs the size of sheep (unsheared) and pigeons the size of hens. My travelling companions and I were rather amused, after we got over the surprise.

A neutered male cat often grows bigger, as long as food is a concern. It's part hormones and part of the cat becoming less active. Same effect has been noticed in some castrated men for centuries.
Many people in the U.S. like larger dogs.
As for urban pigeons, or referred by some as flying rats. I rescued a couple and both were tame. They are pretty much descendants of domesticated pigeons. Domestic pigeons most likely were bred to be large and strong on purpose. There are wild mourning doves in my neighborhood. They are kind of shaped like a pigeon but smaller.

Hello beanies!
Started Giant ( I know I am late, but better late than never), already watched 13 episodes. It really hooked me up. I am too tired now, otherwise i might be staying up just to watch this .Still a long journey, anyway. So far so good! How KCIA interrogated the suspect was so.. scary :( But all characters performed very well.. It really deserved as a high rated drama. regret that at the time when this drama was aired, im not that addicted to kdrama yet..
Still waiting for subs for Love Me If You Dare. I swear I really fell in love with Wallace Huo! My first time watching C-drama after really a long time. Lee Dong Wook will remain as my first love, maybe Wallace Huo will be my eternal love? lol. But im eyeing some others as my love interest as well. i must be greedy, right?
Anyway, I love this drama, mainly because it is about crime investigation, which is really my thing. But the relationship between the leads is cute and there were times made me giggling :D
As usual, weekend is coming over, I Have A Lover will be back! Anyone watching this too? Will Choi Jin Eon finally found out his wife is actually not dead? I doubt he will know very soon that the current Yonggo Dong Ki is the real Hae Kang. The possibility for Kang Seol Ri to start become really crazy is near. Excited to watch this week's episode. I just hope we do not need to wait for a long time until Hae Kang and YKDG know about each other's existence.
I know the possibility for Ji Jin Hee or Kim Hyun Joo to win Daesang Prize at SBS Award this year is lesser, because this drama is not doing so good in rating, but they already won for me. Their acting is superb, and they emote very very well. If there is a chance, they should open class and teach the young actors especially on how to emote. :)

@sera OMO OMOOOOO -- Yes and yeeees with "I Have A Lover" in my mind I was like "ARE THEY FREAKING STILL ACTING?!! REALLY?!!
The emotion in Ji Jin-hee's eyes is so raw. I can see passion. Beneath that passion lies a thousand layers of more emotion. It is unreal. I have been following Ji Jin-hee in ALL HIS DRAMAS [eg. Dae Jang Geum, Captain, Dong Yi, Spotlight, Warm Word except Blood I guess] but this drama challenged me to see him in a different ACTING light, TO BE HONEST.
I'm forever a lover of Kim Myung-min, but how could the ACTUAL Ji Jin-hee have such eyes full of emotion? Daaaaaang! [To that extent, yes, but KMM is my #1]

November 6, 2015 at 11:43 AM
Ji JinHee on his role: "Choi Jin-un is an attractive character an actor might able to meet once in an acting lifetime." He said he is so happy receiving huge love from viewers by meeting such an attractive character.
For the reason why people are crazy about CJU, he says the way he falls in love with his wife is shown as innocent and sincere, and the message anyone can fall into a trap of having affair, but perpetual love is their spouse - wife or husband seems to appeal to viewers.
He said in the beginning he earned so much hate by his wrong choices, but his regrets about his behavior, his efforts to win his wife regardless of others' accusations to right the wrong he committed worked in the positive way. "During this progress, viewers' attitude changed from accusation to sympathy, and they cheer me on. I feel like this drama is alive. and this is real melo drama where Jin-un loves his wife, only one woman dearly."
About the popularity of the show, JJH said "Love between Jin-un and Hae-gang is not something of youth doing. They have a child and so their love is deeper and darker in color. So it has more reality."

@fan, TQ for this.
“Love between Jin-un and Hae-gang is not something of youth doing. They have a child and so their love is deeper and darker in color. So it has more reality.”
Agreed with this. What made this drama is more worthy to watch is their acting, they never fail to express their emotions. I am just glad, CJE and DHK character fall into the hand of right actor and actress.

I Have A Lover you say? Now we're talkin --
@sera -- I have never been happier that Ji Jin-hee turned down Assembly (2nd lead) to be the PERFECT Choi Jin-eon ever. Anyone besides Ji Jin-hee is miscast for Choi Jin-eon. You are right. Nobody else can take Do Hae-kang, but Kim Hyun-joo.
Choi Jin-eon is Ji Jin-hee's most sophisticated role. I feel like it is the absolute role he mostly immersed himself too. Choi Jin-eon is his ultimate role. Though Min Jung-ho is hard to beat in my heart of hearts.
@fan Yes, yes, yes! I want him to rot in hell. The fire should boil him and consume him totally. But when I see him being much begging for a second chance, I quite do not remember any of his past stupidity. So much desperation there, maaaaan. From accusation to sympathy. Definitely.
There was a time that Ji Jin-hee felt confused of his role. He does not know which is which. Not because he does not understand his character, but Choi Jin-eon really does not understand himself. Dang, Ji Jin-hee and Choi Jin-eon becoming ONE.

GIANT --
Did you absolutely just say Giant? My gosh, I am so excited for you. You definitely need that rest, mifriend. While marathoning Giant, be sure to rest while it is still the earlier episodes. When I was marathoning it, I slept while I could. Coz reviews online say it would absorb me that I cannot escape it. And then it happened, while I was in Episodes 18 onwards. I had to pump myself up with coffee and more caffeine. Giant addiction is real. It is pure magic, I do not know how it is even possible. How could a freaking biopic about Construction companies and corrupt police look so... magical?
And freaking Jo Pil-yeon is DESPICABLE. Best villain ever. Jo Pil-yeon. That stupid clever name. Yes, over Madam Choi, over Kang Do-young, over Lee Myung-hwan, over Joker. Jo Pil-yeon is the villain of all villains. I hate him -- but actor Jung Bo-seok is soooooo hot and soooooo talented. He is soooooo SEXY; his villain-licious role made him even hotter.

Whether it is good or not, u decide after watching. I can highly recommending it, since I love it. The plot is balanced, not moving too fast since it is 50 episodes. What won me over is the leads' acting.
Just a warning ahead, that first 10 episodes was quite painful, to watch. Anyway this is melodrama, and it totally plays with your emotion very well.

I wouldn't call it makjang but a well-done melo (so far at least).
I was drawn to it firstly due to Kim Hyun Joo whose acting in this drama is no joke practically playing three - yes, THREE - different roles each with distinct personalities and traits. Her portrayal of pre-HK is actually most impressive to me because I can't recall any similar female lead in other dramas. A highly successful and sophisctated career woman with hidden wounds that eventually crumbled down, but without losing any of her dignity. The scene she placed her thumb on that document is hauntingly heartbreaking whilst maintaining her self-pride - it blows me away!
However, Ji Jin Hee is a revelation in I Have A Lover. He has always been a bit bland to me but here he pulls out a very layered performance as commemted in the 13.1.1 thread above.
The writer is doing a very good job so far with tight pace and not totally predictable plot twists that keeps audience on the edge wondering what next.
But the first 9 episodes are emotionally hard to watch. I started from Ep 10 and upward, then backtracked the earlier episodes.
Watching this drama has a sense of going back to the original root of KDrama after the so many new genres we witnessed in the last few years.

Exactly. I started 11 onwards. Then backtracked. That is what I suggest to others too.
If you watch "I Have A Lover" start with Episode 11 upwards. ;-)
Truly, IHAL has the ROOT CORE FEELING of kdramas [the vibe, the classic feel, the angst]
I keep talking about Ji Jin-hee because he has shocked me with this role. In EPYC's words -- he is a REVELATION here. He has always looked like a normal leading man. But he pulls this off with all colors. If I might say, he deserves a Daesang here. [Well, Kim Hyun-joo is his only tough competitor]
Though I feel someone from Six Flying Dragons will get it.

Exactly guys! This drama doesn't play with many plots, but it plays with emotions, which I don't think everyone can handle it..
Daesang prize always goes to most popular drama right? Unless it is a miracle, JJH and KHJ may not listed. But I have no complaint,6FD also a great drama so far, based on reviews. Yet to start, but downloading each epi so far.will start when there is a right time☺ l will be grateful enough if they win best actor and actress.

No worries. There's no Han Hyo-joo here. But I assure you she is paired with Ji Jin-hee in Dong Yi. :-)
I don't know if you would call it makjang. But the only makjang-ish element here is [SPOILER] a husband who cheated seeking for a second chance.
Idk, but I do not get the makjang feels here. Hard to believe, but the vibe I feel here is what I feel with 16-episode dramas.

Hi all!
Sassy Go Go – (spoilers) I had tears streaming down my cheeks - I wasn’t really crying crying – it was more like an involuntary response to Soo Ah’s apologies and “final” day and how the students decided to come through for her in her hour of need. I was thinking how unrealistic it was even for a kdrama, but then I thought maybe the resilience and ability to turn to someone who is hurting so terribly because you’ve been there can look like what some of the kids did for Soo Ah. She was so happy to be forgiven – it was a good direction and something different in a kdrama. Anyway, I liked what happened to my own surprise, because she was finally stopped in a way I hadn’t anticipated. I don’t think I can bear to watch that mother anymore, however, and will ff her off the screen. The bromance - it’s killer. (*pop!*) back to kdramaland: my girlfriend’s mother is seriously dating my father.
Bubblegum – I had a hard time with that kiss.
SWP – I had a great time with that kiss.
Happy Together – they sure are working hard around that probably very expensive conveyer belt concept. I don’t get it. But, at least there was some cohesiveness this week with the cast from All About My Mom (Eugene and Lee Sang Woo and like 8 other people running around). I miss the sauna!!
6FD - fighting!
First snow of the year here, it dropped from 70s to freezing. Have a great weekend!

I love how the drama has callbacks to its previous episodes, and this was a good one.

about the thing with Soo Ah:
we have a very famous childrens´ movie Nukitsamees, where the main point, the main song and the message is "Head lapsed kasvavad vitsata, arm aitab enam kui hirm" (good kids grow without whip, love is a better teacher than fear). I quoted a verse from a song by Olav Ehala, just in case of copyright matters
I can´t find the song online though, it is called Vitsalaul (song of a whip)
and there is this little troll and two kids who represent two different approaches (also, the troll kids mom is an actual witch, just like Soo Ah´s)

Hey, beanies! It's been a while since I was so happy that it's finally Friday! A long and tiring week.
I've been feeling a bit down, the weather is terrible & gloomy, the book I was reading (a biography of Francoise Sagan) was getting depressing, Reply 1994 that I've been watching had me crying every episode... I was desperately in need of some fluff.. So I started browsing Viki... Oh, what's that? A new Taiwanese drama? Yes, please, I need some cheesiness. So I ended up breezing through the first 3 eps of Bromance and boy is it gloriously cheesy, riddled with cliches... and (un)surprisingly addictive. I laugh at myself for watching and liking it, but at least Megan Lai is convincing at playing a man.

Hello Beanies!!
Currently watching
Sassy Go Go - Our main OTP is just pure love! Their smile and basically their relationship as friends and as a couple is something that I truly admire! Kudos to the writer, please don't ruin the last two episodes!
She Was Pretty - I dont know why, but I dropped it somewhere episode 9. Something just didn't click anymore.
Bubblegum - I love Lee Dong Wook! I know he can sometimes be overacting and overbearing but the character kinda grows in you. Looking forward to this series with a little bit of caution. Loved the A Gentleman's Dignity interaction between the characters haha that was quite funny considering how opposite their roles were. HAHA
Still debating whether to watch Six Flying Dragons. First, I haven't watched a sageuk that long or basically any drama that long. I've skipped some episodes of All About my Mom because that weekend drama can do without some episodes, I think. But I want to see BYH act after Misaeng. or should I watch the Ex girlfriend with Song Ji Hyo to get my fix?

Byun Yo Han is different every time. If you want to watch a light funny drama, then Ex-Girlfriend Club would be nice. He's lead character there so more airtime. In Six Flying Dragons, he shares the airtime between the other 5 dragons so you won't see him as much but what little he has, he makes the best out of. Every scene with Byun Yo Han in SFD gave me the feels, whether it's awe for his badass fight scenes (I heard he doesn't use a double!) or his heart-wrenching pass me the Kleenex scenes.

Suda Masaki is a talent to watch out for. I had a hunch from The Light Shines Only There (where he plays a supporting role that could easily be dismissed, but if you pay attention he really elevates it to something else). He was a riot (superb!) in Princess Jellyfish, and Tamiou fully showcases his acting talent. I've put the drama on hold for the moment for lack of subs – it deserves to be watched properly (not one episode one week, another three weeks later).
I believe he's as good as some of the best of his contemporaries – Sometani Shota, Kanata Hongo and Kamiki Ryunosuke.

As others have said, he's only recently been getting lead roles – although you'll find lots of stuff where he has small supporting roles.
Princess Jellyfish (film), The Light Only Shines There (film) and Tamiou (drama) are the ones I would start with. Mondai no Aru Restaurant is a good drama, but it's an ensemble and it's really the female cast that shines there.

he didn't have lead role before Tamiou in Drama but he has lots in 2016 in movies, but you can try
Drama-supporting role
Kageri Yuku Natsu
Shinigami Kun
Mondai no Aru Restaurant
Movies
Akegarasu
Chokorietta
Kuragehime
He is a rising star with 6+ movies in 2016, but he is not all in 1st male lead, kinda like 2nd male lead

Yeah, it's just there's been a lot of gaps for the subs... I'm pretty sure the drama has finished airing by now but it might take another month (or two?) until we get the rest of the subs.

I also watch Kuragehime/princess jellyfish, both anime and live action and I really like him too, one of the best live action in my opinion, he is so beautiful and slender there.
I still can't believe that Kanata Hongo is older than them and shota just 23 y/old with their talent,
I have this little hope that in 2016 Masaki Suda and Masaki Okada will get more popular, Those two Masaki is really good,
I still waiting for the last sub of Tamiou too

I like both Masaki's, but in terms of acting skills Suda Masaki is far, far better.
Okada Masaki's talent, as I realised with Fuben na Benriya and now Okitegami Kyouko, lies in comedy (incl. physical comedy) – but when it comes to serious roles, he has never quite managed to convince me in scenes that are meant to show profound emotion.
Suda Masaki, meanwhile, is a chameleon. Put him in anything, he can pull it off.

I think it's the time for Okada since he doesn't play dark character much, I just hope he gets the chance since he always the bright happy smiley guy, who knew if he can be good
Suda is just really good imo,

I think Okada Masaki has been around for nearly a decade (2007), and has had lead roles since 2009 (Otomen – drama; Halfway – film). He keeps getting them too. I think the quality of the work he's done is fairly varied, there's quite a bit of lightweight stuff but also some projects which I'd take more seriously (mostly because of who he starred opposite to).
He's got a pretty steady career (at least one drama and one or two films each year) and is reasonably well known, but I guess he isn't top of the tops – which, to be honest, I think is because although he's a quite good actor, he isn't brilliant. He's just very very beautiful, which I'm sure helps. He does wonderfully in (physical) comedy, he can be hilarious, in other stuff I've found him serviceable.
Okada Suda has been in the business almost as long (2009), but his project choices are much more varied, off-beat and I don't think there was name-recognition with him until 2013 – Tomogui (which I haven't seen) I think is what catapulted him to wider recognition. I think his first lead role was The Boy Inside (2012, film) and now Tamiou (2015, for dramas). But he's had many small, supporting roles most of which still manage to give us a glimpse of the acting brilliance he possesses.

I liked that guy in Princess Jellyfish! He was good, the movie could have been better but I liked the way he fully committed to that crazy character and managed to be sensitive without being feminine while in full drag. :)

To be honest, for a live-action adaptation of a manga I thought it was actually surprisingly good, given that these are usually low-budget productions aimed at fangirls (i.e. not films that are meant to have a long shelf life but forgotten within a year or two).
He was magnificent in drag.

Bubblegum!!!
I've just finished 4 episodes in one go!
Never really paid attention to Lee Dong Wook or Jung Ryeo Won's dramas, but oh my...much heartache, much tears, much giggles. Gahhh, that ending!
Also, I've stopped watching She Was Pretty some time ago. It was cute, funny (Choi Siwon FTW!) endearing at some parts, but for some reason, lost interest after ep11.
Luckily Bubblegum is here :) Can't wait for more!

Good morning, Beanies. It's full on winter here now, lots of snow. The ski area even opened yesterday. We are still able to hike, but it's cold, so must wear cross country ski clothing. After four years of no winter, it actually feels great.
Watching:
Sassy Go Go--That "goodbye" date made me so sad. I know it's just dramaland, but I wish in real life that depressed people gave that clear of a signal when they were planning to end their lives. I guess K-TV is trying to educate viewers about how to recognize the symptoms...but what gets me is it always seems to be the PARENTS that put the pressure on the kids. From what I have seen in real life, the parents of depressed kids usually are the most supportive people in their lives--getting them to their dr appts, making sure meds are consistently taken, working with the schools, encouraging activities, shelling out a lot of money--at least the parents I have known. But I know the US is different in that respect.
Anyway, I still love the drama and it's serious nature. So glad it isn't about cheerleading.
She Was Pretty--Is it over yet? What can possibly happen next week that would have any dramatic pull whatsoever? Also that "sexy" kiss. Why so rough? It seemed out of character. I hate that.
All About My Mom--Lawyer son is going to be in trouble now. Trying to protect a stalked person is really, really scary. How will he use his connections to bring this creepy dr-man down? And the youngest couple--running away? Really? The story is so Romeo and Juliet. I hope it doesn't include the death part. They are too cute for that. Oh, how I hate episodes 25-35 in a 50 episode drama. Always soooooo much Angst.
We Got Married--Canceled this past week (again), but Yewon has updated her IG a lot. She is opening her own studio/gallery. So proud of her. I am glad to have been able to "meet" her through WGM, because she is such an interesting woman.
Does anyone else follow people on Instagram? I think I follow about six, but the selfies and head shots get really boring. And the dog photos. I have started following some of the people they are following--people who post artsy shots. I like that because we all need more art in our lives. The EARTH without ART is just EH.

it always seems to be the PARENTS that put the pressure on the kids.
I can testify to the accuracy of this, though. Not every country is as forward-thinking as the US about mental illness, both socially and institutionally - and Asian parents (not just Korean ones, but ones from all over the continent) can put their children through hell when they're overly focused on achievement, while at the same time expecting them to brush all the subsequent problems (depression being the obvious one) under the carpet because admitting you have a problem and need psychiatric help, is shameful.

I'm not saying that it isn't considered shameful in the US (it is), it's just that the parents I know tended to back off on the pressure and find something that worked for the child.
There does seem to be a lot of emphasis on the Ivy Leagues, ignoring that there are many fine smaller or less competitive schools in the US (if the kid wants to study in the US) that would be more appropriate for foreign students. IMO. And the schools would probably give the students a lot of money to be able to attend. Maybe those US colleges should do more outreach in the Korean Drama business.

yeah, see that's the difference - parents who actually put their child first. I've seen way too many cases where parents behave like their children 'owe' it to them or to the family to go into certain colleges or careers, as if putting their own happiness first is selfish or something.

I wasn't planning to but I ended up watching the whole series of Good Times. I think it was very attractive because the tone of the show was very low-key - a lot of it was just people chatting a lot. Yue Hao chatting with his friends, his friends chatting, Yue Hao chatting with his dad, his dad chatting with Doctor Mao etc. It was all very low key, ordinary every day life. Then it got a bit annoying with weird manipulative girlfriend and Auntie Pang, but for some reason, it was addictive by then.
I liked Hu Ge's performance in it. I was watching it alongside Nirvana in Fire, and he's very different and it was fun to see him play something more contemporary, more casual. I like the actor who plays his father in Good Times.

Sassy Go Go - I ugly cried throughout every scene involving Soo-ah in episode 10. The amount of pain the poor girl was in, her desperation and remorse on finally realising the extent of what she'd done to the others, and that quiet, almost peaceful despair in her final letter to Yeon-doo.....I'm pretty much cried out for the week. That scene with her in her mother's office, struggling to explain to her mother all the awful things she'd done, only to have her mother not get it AT ALL....that was devastating.
I know a lot of people argue that she doesn't deserve forgiveness and the suicide attempt was an 'easy way out' to redeem her, but this has been building from very early on in the drama - and I doubt any of those people have ever had a friend commit suicide. It's the worst, not only because of the amount of pain someone has to be in to think of ending their lives, but the guilt felt by the ones left behind - a guilt that doesn't follow logic about whether anyone could actually have prevented it or whether they really did provide the final impetus to that person's decision.
I continue to love everything else about the drama, including the presence of a newly-minted teenage couple (Crinkles and Sunshine ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) and their poor puppy friend. I love that Sassy Go Go has hammered home the importance of friendship at every single step - in its bromance, in its romance (ESPECIALLY in its romance - that's how it even started in the first place!), in the bonds between the two clubs, and even to the teachers. It's ultimately not a drama about cheerleading or underdogs at all - it's just about two different groups of people who learn that they're better off for having each other in their lives. And that is a beautiful message.

I started watching bubblegum solely because graphics of the title song was so fun and smart..also has got a positive vibe. But story wise,I don't know how it got so much attention.I dint think it has got any story going on.They are pretty much people living their life that's it.Eating, having drinks, going to party, the girl having radio show..etc.And the guy is so much interested in the friend's life seemed almost bothersome to me.Why did he had to go to the extent of breaking the fire alarm and barge into that room ..Yeah I get that he promised to the girl's father but he seems to be overdoing it.It's like the writer is trying to make the drama quirky..the female lead is supposed to be this woman child..which she fails to be.It's like they're dancing and the dance is supposed to be mad.I'm sure the story would run it's course once they start having relationship..Underdeveloped plot much..
I thought the dentist was much interesting than the female lead. They try to show that the story is about an ordinary woman but always take a much less ordinary rather pretty people as 'the one' lol.
Err..sorry for the rant.

Hi, Deb. I will be honest with you -- I still haven't watched Episodes 1 until 10. I am currently backtracking while waiting. Here's my friendly suggestion:
Start with Episode 11.
Know that the premise is a husband who just cheated [because of sore loneliness that his child died] his wife for a younger woman. The younger woman relentlessly pursues him.
If you're done, you may backtrack, like I am doing. You won't regret it. :-D

Hi Everyone and Happy Weekend and to all who celebrate Diwali... wishing you a wonderful Festival of Lights (4 or 5 days? in advance)
Just a bit of follow-up news... in last week's OT, I offered to start a Google Group for Beanies,... and yes, it's up and running. :) It's a possible alternative in addition to OT to talk about shows we love and at last check we are now talking about Awl, On the Wings of Love, Sassy GG, Bubblegum and other topics.
If you missed the post on joining this group, please refer to OT #419, Comment 31 and 31.4.
On to what I'm watching... I've happily cut back out of necessity and because really I should spend time on things other than shows LOL!
It's the First Time - I'm not seriously watching every episode or every moment of the ones I do watch, but I was pleasantly delighted by Episode 5. It's the light and fluffy, undemanding and possibly feel good show that I thought Sassy Go Go would be (but isn't, because it's so much better) and am happy with it's cuteness. In fact that is the main word to describe everything about it... cute actors and actresses, cute, simple setup, cute interactions, cute couples. Great when I feel like watching in total brain relaxed state. :)
Possible *** SPOILERS ***
Sassy Go Go - My favourite show of now. So much heart and warmth that my toes get tingly. Now it's on to hope and redemption, the winning of the regionals (they must win, they must!) and the circumventing of the parental trap...purely a plot twist to give us something to chew on for the last 2 episodes... as if just watching Yeol and Yeon Doo interact was not enough to satisfy.... well maybe not, but still, lots of Yeol and Yeon Doo together, please!!!
*** SPOILERS ***
She Was Pretty - Episode 15 has it all wrapped up practically so we are left wondering what's up for Episode 16....especially since the last scene of a happy curly haired Hye Jin cycling did not make sense... I guess it was sort of a preview which was totally not a cliff-hanger?
Anyway we find that although Most reached it's high spot... the team has hit an all time low. Leaving was the repeated thing with even Hye Jin leaving Ha Ri and Sung Joon leaving Korea. So what do you say we have the various team members back again in some way or form to end us on a high note? :)
On the whole, SWP as a pleasant enough watch, but somehow not as compelling as expected. Still I look forward to the final episode for a good and satisfying wrap up.
Glamorous Temptation - Again not seriously watching but catching the odd episode or part thereof. As melos go, this one is not half bad. No endless tears although there is a lot of angst and injustice against the most innocent of characters. With 40 more episodes to go, there's plenty of time for people to break up and make up and for a couple of mysteries to be revealed.

AWL: Gave up after watching 2 eps. I thought it will be as good as Misaeng but I was disappointed. The characters are not that interesting and the pace was really slow.
D-day: Gave up too. I really like the genre but i think J dorama are better at tackling this genre.
She was Pretty: I like the first few eps. Was fun initially. But nowadays i had a hard time finishing this drama. However since the show will end next week i think i will still watch it. Just not excited. Despite liking the two leads and they are good actors but i don't think the two leads have chemistry.

I dropped AWL and D-Day, too, min. It used to be nearly impossible for me to drop a kdrama, but I've learned to guard my time and fill it with stuff I really want to watch. SWP is a keeper for me and Bubblegum is good, I like the acting. Also, Six Flying Dragons, even though I'm usually not into the "bad old days" kdramas, it's a good story with lots of, well, very cool flying dragons :) And Yoo Ah In.
Because It's the Fist Time is oday cute, it's what I expected.

Hello, I am a little late
I was at a training and then archives and then St. Martins´ Day fair for 2 hours and then tried to get tickets (or win tickets) to Ewert and The Two Dragons concert, but was again late. Now I am just eating cheese. Deep.
Todays´ questions: we´ve had a very peculiar year for dramas. Many people had a very long draught and then there were some dramas that were really good, but didnt do well in ratings. Soon Dramabeans will post the years´ end poll again. What do you think should definitely be categories this year?
And which characters should definitely be nominated for Best Character?
I have been watching only bits and pieces, cause I am doing research in the library and in archives, about estonian refugees´ journey across the sea and their reception in refugee camps in the 1940ies. for one, refugees are a hot subject, two, we have refugee boats at the museum, and three, young people know very little about it and there have only been 2 exhibitions on that subject.
She Was Pretty I basically didnt watch. Only Shin Hyuk part in second to last episode. But they are just killing time now. Still, I am in advance grateful to Siwon, for leaving me with another character I can rewatch and chuckle by myself when I am feeling a little meh and low. surprisingly, it was not a mere comic relief character, but had an underlining layer of loneliness and isolation. I am glad Siwon is one guy who goes all out, is not afraid to look ridiculous or borderline crazy and is actually funny in comic scenes. most people would have just embarrassed themselves in such a role.
Sassy Go Go - too much romantic feelings creeping in, but on the other hand, when they are playing teenage boys... what else do they even think about? Never saw a teenager who prefers comradeship to love with girls. The girls are such strong actors here it feels like the boys are just there for the pretty... khmm. Ok, maybe not only for the pretty.
I am out of cheese...

Nice Male Lead should totally be the subject of a Thing vs Thing post.
Mainly because my top candidate, Misaeng's Jang Geu-rae, would be ineligible for this year's dramabeans awards /pout.
But in 2015 alone, we had Kill Me Heal Me, Heard It Through the Grapevine, Sassy Go Go, Let's Eat 2, Girl Who Sees Smells and Producer having non-asshole male leads. (ok, KMHM had a bad-boy alter ego but our hero himself was sweet and decent and not a classic asshole chaebol)

School 2015 has two nicest male lead ever.

@Chanelboy - School 2015 male leads, nice?! Maybe if you leave out the bits where they basically treated Eun-bi like a prize to be fought over/got jealous and violent. Tae-kwang was the lesser offender, but it was only a question of degrees.
Choi Young-do was the second lead of Heirs so he doesn't quite qualify, but Kim Tan is a textbook example of a total asshole lead.

For sheer humour's sake, I also want to include the oddly apropos slogan tshirts and sweatshirts from Sassy Go Go - I mean, 'SUAVE', anyone? And, rather sadly, 'FIND ME' on Soo-ah in ep 8.
Best Villain/Anti-heroine should totally be a category too. Plenty of good candidates this year - from Heard It Through the Grapevine's Yoo Ho-jung and Lee Joon-sang, to (of course!) School 2015's Kang So-young and Sassy's Kwon Soo-ah, and the not-so-kindly neighbourhood officer in Oh My Ghostess. I Remember You probably has a couple of characters who need including too.

I must be the only one who was dissapointed with episode 10 of SASSY GO GO. the show dragged alot with numerous unnecessary flashbacks and long speeches for example the canteen scene confronting the gossip trio.i understand you want to defend soo ah but.... I asked myself are they in a play, it felt so rehearsed and any time they would break out into song
?'stand by me'
Don't get me wrong, i dont hate that they defended her although i don't like the way they quickly changed their tune but it was over the top.
Aside from that i liked our otp and hope to get more of their cute moments.
Finally finished HIGH SOCIETY and i didnt hate it as much as i did when i was waiting for episodes, it was actually good and i guess some shows should be marathoned instead of waiting.

Oh,i forgot about SASSY GO GO aren't they planning to adress Ha joons issues with his dad, he's basically not getting a happy ending on any front.if he's not getting the girl,he should atleast get something.
Reading over my first comment it sounds like i hate Sassy Go Go, i don't, i love it, ibe watched each episode 4 times with the exception of episode 10

So I just watched an old jdrama called pride and I absolutely loved it. It's definitely on my favourite drama lists. The drama has its flaws and isn't perfect but the main lead is awesome. Also love the ice hockey team anyways I definitely would recommend this drama.
Just upto date with the village - normally I figure out difficult mysteries very fast but I can't seem to figure this one out. Its keeping me on my toes bur problem with this drama is I'm not invested in to the characters so not rooting for them just curious to know what is happening.
Unfortunately due to time never got a chance to watch few episode of sassy go but should catch up on that one.

+1, @ Mev!
I had never ever heard of KimuTaku before Pride. I've fallen for this drama right away and it's on my Top-5 list of doramas ever since. I was super bored at the time but, somehow, Pride, the OTP and that amazing OST rocked my world. I want to thank the person who mentioned this little gem on an older post somewhere (unfortunately, I can't even remember who he/she was)...Anyway, domo arrigato whoever it was!

I don't really watch jdramas because I've watched a few but they seemed rather forgettable (maybe I chose wrong dramas to watch). Also they isn't a dramabeans which could recommend dramas for lol.
But I think pride has definitely changed that for me. I was a bit disappointed with aki in the last few episodes and still not happy about her. But during that process I love how they ended up showing halu trying hard to achieve his dream.
Halu is definitely a different character which could have been typical or annoying but Kimutaku has portrayed him so well that even when he is wrong u don't mind.
Anyways could you possibly give me recommendations on Kimutaku's other dramas which are worth watching?

I didn't mind the more grown-up approach to their love story and its future (I found the ex-fiancé story to be by far more childish than their own relationship); while they were having a fling with each other they found something more meaningful to look forward, something that seemed realistic and plausible because they were both adults.
Αpart from the jdoramas @fan suggests -how can we watch the evil KimuTaku in Million Stars without a major heartbreak, no matter how good he was in that one??- I could also include Long Vacation (a fantastic first episode, a whole short film on its own), CHANGE, his newest drama I'm Home and, of course, his films.

Thank you so much for the recommendations I'll definitely give them a try.
I have to agree on the ex-boyfriend part I actually got really annoyed with aki and wasn't really certain whether she even liked halu. But if you see the big picture it was kind off a way to get halu more invested in his dreams. I also loves how he didn't make her wait that was just on her.

Kimutaku dramas are all safe bets to watch. Long Vacation was my first jdrama in 1996 and all his dramas have since been good to watch in between kdrama downtime. Although still not a great actor after 20 years or so but he's consistently the ratings king and still considered eye candy to watch at his age now.
Only drama to avoid is Tsuki no Kobito aka Moon Lovers, which I tried hard to like because Shinohara Ryoko is my fav j-actress, but unfortunately the crew decided to capitalize on more screen time for taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi Ling who's acting is as bad as scratching nails on a blackboard.

So am I the only one that doesn't like Sassy Go Go? I find the plot way too polarizing (it goes from one extreme to the next) and the characters way too predictable. The pretty and OTP are addictive though. I find I just fast forward to the cute whenever I watch it.
Obsessed with Bubblegum. Their bickering and chemistry just clicks for me. Both are so flawed as characters too. Plus the cinematography is spot on. If you've just been reading the recaps I highly recommend watching it for the clever directing and editing. Love.
I feel like Because It's the First Time is super underrated. I've been loving it so far. The acting well surpassed my expectations. Minho has stepped up his acting game. It is kind of what I hoped Sassy Go Go would feel like. Cute yet angsty but toned down. With a down to earth friendship feel.
She was Pretty has totally lost me. They get the top spot and that's it? Sungjoon goes back to America. If they didn't get first the same thing would have happened with a bit more brooding right? I'm totally confused with this show. Plus they set up Sungjoon to be this totally misunderstood character (that totally deserved hating) to just brush it under the rug because it might interrupt the 3 (longgg) episodes of cute at the end. "He got bullied in America" doesn't justify his jerk of epic proportions at the start or his assumed-but-never-addressed eating disorder. Sorry writers.

SWP: so disappointing, not bad but just - like the writers forgot that we'd still like a story all the way to the end. So many dropped threads that they could have followed. So much business-related nonsense. What a mush-mosh mess. It could have been so good.
On the other hand, Park Seo Joon for 16 episodes, even written badly, is a good thing in my book.

I don't like it much either, I'm in it for the nice OTP and the bromance but the story itself feels silly and almost all the plot driving scenes are unrealistic but a lot of people love the show completely so good for them. :)

Beanies!
Le Weekend is here ^^ ~
I'm currently watching :
Sassy Go Go
Eps 6. THIS! This is what a school drama should be about! There's so much goodness, heart-warming part, heart-tugging, ripped out tears, sunny-shine smile, strawberry sweetness and sourness with your high school's love, the cuteness overload here & there, and all the tie-knotted relationship weather loose or tight, with all the school-mate, parents, teacher-student, and even student-and their dreams and their deal outs. What a wonderful drama here.
This one drama is really worth so much to 'justify' all bad dramas in 2015, they can take all credits they want. Especially Eun Ji, who is the heartbeat of this all. :*
Glamorous Temptaion
Iil Joo is a smart, complicated in the same time frustrated me the most, but she mets her own deal with the crazy bat-shit husband who's ready to kill her if she doesn't give him the love/obsession.
Running Man
Love last eps of 100 vs 100 Race! I'm hoping more fresh faces, okay I want Song Joon Ki to come, can????
Just Put it On
The new variety shows in kbs, still in pilot trial eps. I do hope so much kbs really pick this shows, chaeball. I love fashion and seeing k-celebs's own closets is just like dream comes true for me.
Helps my work, helps my eyes, helps my hobby.
I can do my work and hobby at the same time. (Or it just excuse for me to bailed from work? lol)
That's all. Thank you for wonderful drama this week dramaland ^^

Village - I like mysteries, so far it's getting weirder and weirder with the town's characters. Such a wonderful cast and I like Yook Sung Jae.
She Was Pretty - She Was Interesting, but the last two episodes seemed lacking something new in plot. They written out Choi Si Won who was the most funny and zany character and it seemed wrong that he left her. Why do I feel that Hye Jin chose the wrong man?
Six Flying Dragons - Like the cast, but this sageuk is boring and dragging along. Losing interest. Yikes! It's suppose to be 50 episodes... Not a fan of Shin Se Kyung, so don't think I can stand her acting that long.
D- Day - seems like it's going on forever with the hospital director always trying to close the hospital and kick out patients even in a disaster. Other then I like the CG effects, the plot is losing my interest.
Waiting for Imaginary Cat, Oh My Venus, and Cheese in the Trap to be release soon. I like Yoo Seung Ho, So Ji Sub, and Park Hae Jin!

I am the kind of person who won't watch shows while it airs so my currently-watching dramas are always few weeks late. Anyway,
Yong Pal - I like it! Currently on epi 10 (it got a bit draggy) but I can't wait for YJ to start her revenge on epi 11. I never watched Joo Won before and he's as talented (and lovable) as everyone gushed about. I know people did not like Tomorrow Cantabile that much but I am def trying it after this ends (it has a bonus in the form of Park Bo Gum, who can resist).
Twenty Again - So overrated - pretty much makjang story line and character wrapped up in rom-com. Story too dragged on, misunderstandings are too long, and characters are too typical for me to root for. Sorry Mr dimple, I wished I can like you but not this time.
@chanelboy
Running Man - this is the first time I cannot wait for next week's episode! I did secretly wish Kwang Soo would call Jong Ki too, I meant he called In Sung, Ki Bang, and Lim Joo Hwan already! But maybe he's still filming that drama with Song Hye Kyo overseas (sobs in corner)

Hi all,
thanks for the replies regarding halloween and spirits day in the last thread and Anna for sharing her traditions in the thread also.
We only had one visitor come to the door, a bunch of kids who practically fell into the hallway. I gave them the candy and one of them said "I remember you from last year" - [the time I said we have no sweets] sounded quite sinister if I'm honest...
Anyway:
She was Pretty - where can I get that fountain pen. And the swish camera Ten was using. Nice to see the hair is back, seems like everything is falling into the usual k-drama pattern. Hoping the finale will be good.
Bubblegum - wasn't going to watch this after ep 1, but dong-wook how can I resist.. I want to know what is up between the friend at the radio station and the doctor.
All about my Mom - Why do I love this show so much! Highlight of my week, poor San. What on earth did that guy do to them? Eugene please, let 2016 bring a role that is dynamic, no monster mother in laws , wasn't a hundred year inheritance punishment enough?
Behind on Bromance/Kiss Me Thai - will watch next week.
Finished watching the beauty inside - someone mentioned it felt like a commercial last OT, it really did. A beautiful advert maybe for anti aging cream - be comfortable in the skin you are in. But plus point of yi-soo, if she forgets her clothes or needs some shoes - Woo-jin has it covered.

Hi saki!
I'm back to report on the state of juvenile humor in the American midwest, based on the jokes we heard from our Halloween trick or treaters. Here's the cream of the crop (remember, they're kids LOL):
- why did the Cyclops give up teaching school?
---because he only had one pupil.
- why is the river so rich?
--- because it has two banks.
- why couldn't Beethoven find his teacher?
--- because he was Haydn! (groooan)
Gotta love that last one.

Moo Hyul is getting more adorkable as days pass. I've been a slave to the Six Dragons for a while now. ㅠㅠ
How's She Was Pretty doing? I stopped watching a while back and just can't make myself pick it up again. I read one recap but didn't want to do it anymore. I don't know how this happened considering how much I love it in the beginning.
I've seen Awl up to Episode 3 (I begged myself not to continue on to Episode 4 and just sleep) and it's great so far! Ji Hyun Woo's character is really interesting and you just unknowingly root for him. HAHAHA.
I think I'm going to try watching 88 (I dismissed it after they casted Hyeri) because there's no dramas to watch. I hope her acting would change my mind and let me watch the drama in its entirety.
Latest episode of ICSYV2 made me cry so hard. In Soon I is the guest and oh gosh, I cried even after her first word of A Goose's Dream.

I was having a K-drama slump (dropped She Was Pretty after episode 10 -- blehhh) and have been catching up on Chinese and Taiwanese dramas.
Then I saw Bubblegum but dismissed the show because of its title. Then again, I still have love for LDW (could not tolerate his last two or three projects but love him in that variety show Roommates) to give it a try. I love the chemistry he has with with Jung Ryeo Won. They make the story believable and their feelings really come out through the acting. I am loving the show and loving LDW again; I forgave him for doing not-watchable projects in the past.
He looks so sharp and handsome, too!
Anyway, perhaps I am getting older now, I have become selective on picking what dramas to watch. I cannot sit through kiddy shows anymore.

Is no one watching The Merchant? Enjoying it, but waiting for subtitling of Ep. 12. Ditto The Village. Always wanting more of Six Flying Dragons, which I was going to drop as seemed so brutal initially. Bubblegum ep. 3, YUCK! Ri-Hwan's behavior comes off as creepy and incestuous. I don't even like the OTP together. Awl is quite good, but haven't been able to stream for tv, just watching on dramafire. She Was Pretty, not that bad but Hwang Jung-Eum's loud voice and ridiculous laugh grates on my nerves. But I enjoy her and Min Ha Ri's relationship. Choi Si-Won is wonderful and I'm enjoying the supporting cast.

Unfortunately I haven't found more recent kdramas that catch my eye so I haven't kept up with them. I've mostly been looking at older titles to watch at this point.
Meanwhile, I've been really enjoying Joseon Gunman. It's especially fun to watch it with my mom who likes to make comments. She currently thinks Yu Oh-seong is very attractive and Yoon Kang is a jerk for being rude to Soo In in earlier episodes (I tried to explain why, but she still calls him some colorful words at times).
On another note, is anyone here excited for Neighborhood's Hero? I'm primarily watching it because the plot interests me and because of my loyalty to LSH. The newest Resident Evil movie is a similar case, although I don't think LJK is going to have anything particularly meaty to work with in that film. Most likely he's going to die and I'm going to be mad.

Probably, your mum will soon get very tired of seeing Yu Oh-seong's grudgingly vengeful facial expression as the drama gets draggy and dreary towards the middle. The seemingly endless seesawing to-and-fro fight between Park Yoon-Kang and Choi Won-Shin can be quite tedious to watch. Probably it's just me that feel that way as I don't usually like sageuks, but again, LJK's acting saved the day! :)

Me too! No interest in any of the ongoing shows so went to the archives. Just watched 9 End 2 Outs after reading positive comments on it. And I loved loved the show!! The chemistry between the leads was off the roof and the "I love you but I can't have you" tension between them was so well played out that it pulled at my heartstrings. So good!
I realized that I do not need complicated plots for my dramas, just a good dose of chemistry and romance to make me happy. Hence I loved shows like Twenty Again and 9 End 2 Outs. Any others to recommend?
