your description of Rooftop Prince were my true feelings watching it too, it's one of those shows that just grabs you the moment you start watching it, it truly made me a Park Yoochun fan, that I started searching about all his past series. Although I attempted to watch Sungkunwyan Scandal, but it didn't grab me that much. his chemistry was much more amazing in Rooftop Prince. And omggggg the ost..wow I listen to it everyday especially the one by Ali (HURT) wow so much emotion was poured into that song and that show. Listening to it always reminds me of The ending of ep.17 when she saved him...omggg I loved that show. And like you it makes my heart beat just thinking about it...

I couldn't stand her sister either it was too much evil seriously. But I did notice that in alot of Korean dramas, all the evil characters are simply forgiven because they believe that deep down it was the environment and society that made them that way.

Have you watched ((I Miss You)) for him? I might watch it after ((Bride of the century)).

0

Turkish Rose,

I did watch I Miss You for Chunnie. Not the same warm fuzzies. Not that his acting was bad. I think the whole r*pe thing just made that show too dark for my tastes.

Happy Together - Drama "Secret Love" Special w/ J…: http://youtu.be/NutetWeeaP0

<Rooftop Prince wow simply wow. just finished this drama, and I must say it was so simply beautiful and made it to my top favorite Korean dramas. I've been avoiding this drama like the plague, because of the posters for it. but when I finally got over it, it's simply a must watch series. so heart warming and beautiful.

<Bride of the Century just started watching it after all your raves on it on the last open thread. and Omg It is soooo amazing and its such an addicting show. so nice, loved it so much but I don't know why I love her chemistry so much with Jang iy Hyun (who plays the brother) omg that guy reminds of Hyun Bin does any body else see the resemblance? but I just love this series so far, incredible and can't wait for it to be recapped.

0

Nahla JW - No. Italian American. :-)

0

I love Rooftop Prince. If I had to do it over again, I would tone down the evil step sister plot, hated her so much, because there was the funny and then this over the top makjang melo with the evil step sister plot.

Mickey Yoochun crying ... devastates me. The rooftop kiss ... one of my favorites. I was at the library when I watched , and at one point I simply had tears flowing down my face and the librarian brought me over a box of tissues, and the library was closing and I sat on the sidewalk getting to use their wifi so I could see the end.

Rooftop Prince owned me when it was airing. It taught me about RAW episodes. I still have my heart beat fast thinking about that drama.

0

Julia -

I still hated the ending of RTP, even though that kiss was epic. After all, he ends up lonely and beer-less, and she ends up with a doppelganger that shares no memories but a smack in head with a apple. So there was no true happiness for our canon couple.

Better than Gu Family Book, but still a WTH ending.

I am! I love the story so far.

I love how Doo-rim got under Kang-ju's skin from second one. And how fast he is falling for her. I was terribly disappointed in his lack of suspicion when the girls switched back - mild confusion doesn't cut it buddy.
That Kan-ju knows about the ghost and seems to have a friendship with her was a bit of a wtf moment for me. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

I'll admit I wasn't quite sold on Lee Hong-ki as a leading man at first and had fears of being icked out once the romance started (I still have Jeremy firmly in my mind a boy-child, not a Man). My fears were unfounded. He's doing a great job and when he turns on the charm he simply oozes sex appeal.

0

Required fields are marked *

I am, I am! It's not objectively the greatest drama ever, but it is SUPER entertaining. A crack drama for sure.

I was really surprised that Kang-ju found out about the curse this soon. I was expecting that plotline to come into play towards the end of the drama. I think that's part of what makes this drama so great--the plot is really well paced. We don't really have time to get annoyed with the evil characters, because everything is moving forward quickly & evenly. I'm loving the leading lady, too. She's got great natural charisma and manages to differentiate her two characters without exaggerating the dopiness of Doo-rim or the sharpness of Yi-kyung.

I'm quite bothered by Kang-ju's repeated disregard for Doo-rim's personal boundaries, but apparently not enough to stop watching. I'm so sick of Kdramaland trying to pretend like forcing oneself on a girl is sexy. IT'S NOT SEXY. CONSENT IS SEXY. I'd be pleased if that trope were done away with forever. That's the most problematic element of this drama by far, for me.

Oh, and can we talk for a moment about how creepy Yi-hyun is? He seemed to be attracted to Doo-rim from the start based only on the fact that she looks like his sister. And he's always lurking around her with this really intense gaze. I just can't get over the squick factor of being attracted to someone who looks EXACTLY like your half-sister. If they were not blood relatives, I understand it even though it'd still seem pretty incestuous. But this is just gross.

Required fields are marked *

Wow, you wrote my thoughts word by word! haha!!
I started watching because of Hongki (I was sooo happy to have him again in a drama *-*), and now I'm hooked :D
The story is a bit too fantasy but the writers manage it well. The only think I don't understand is Yi-hyun feeling attracted by someone that looks exactly the same as his sister (too impossible for my poor brain to assimilate).
And for me it was not that bad that he was not able to recognize the girl exchange so quickly. I mean...I would probably think of 1000 explanations before suspecting that someone looking exactly like my boyfriend has replaced him.
I even like the ghost! So far so good!! :D

Any followers of Lady Ki around, by the way?? I would like to fangirl a bit about ep.37 and how awesome she was while taking down Tanashiri!! *-*

Happy weekend beanies!! <3

I don't mind that he Kang-ju doesn't automatically suspect the Yi-kyung/Doo-rim exchange, either. It would have been very unrealistic to have him suspect it, IMO. He definitely knows there's something off, which is enough for me. I mean, who in their right mind would see their arranged-marriage-fiance acting weirdly one day and automatically assume "YOU MUST BE A DOPPELGANGER!"? Nobody. That's just not how people work. Actually, I love that he can tell that something's off. I also find it interesting that he oozes chemistry with Doo-rim, but is cold as ice with Yi-kyung.

Required fields are marked *

Yeah! They are doing really well, the feeling given by the two couples is totally different.
And yeah! the chemistry is amazing between Kang Ju and Doo Rim :D , which I think is responsible for most of this drama's appealing....Hong Ki has grown into a sexy man, haha!!

0

I've read so many comments on so many sites about how creepy people find Yi-Hyun's attraction to Doo-Rim.

One comment I read on a different website hit the nail on the head. Yi-Kyung and Doo Rim have entirely different personalities. So, to Yi-Hyun they don't appear to have much resemblance (though physically alike) when their personalities are poles apart.

Yang Jin Sung did such an amazing job portraying and inhabiting both characters that in the first episode I actually couldn't believe they were being acted by the same person. Their styles, looks and expressions were so dissimilar! It's only after Doo Rim dressed up as Yi-Kyung that their physical similarities struck me, but I still see them as two different people.

Now, if Yi-Hyun isn't biologically related to Yi-Kyung (some translations say they are not, some say they are), then's there's nothing to prevent him from falling in love with her doppelganger. He did try to make sure that Yi Kyung and Doo Rim were not related in any way.

Doo-Rim is warm with him (she cooks for him, takes care of him when he was injured and drunk) and is more affectionate and demonstrative with him than she is with Kang-Joo (who she's falling in love with) so although she sees him as an "Oppa" in a family sense, his feelings for her run deeper, probably because he's never had that kind of love and care from someone since his mother died. Although, you can see very clearly that his relationship with Yi-Kyung is very brotherly and affectionate, it is still clouded by the very frost that characterizes all of Yi-Kyung's interactions with people.

0

Required fields are marked *

At first I thought that "half brother" was a mistranslation and Yi-hyun was really YK's step-sibling. I'd be fine with that, but multiple translations say the same thing: half brother. I'd love for a native Korean speaker to weigh in on that.

The main creepiness factor for me is that he seemed very much to fall for Doo-rim from the first episode. The show didn't do a good job of portraying his attraction as a slow build based on Doo-rim's personality, if that's what it's going for. I got the impression that he harbored secret feelings for YK and that he was finally able to express the forbidden feelings for Doo-rim, who wasn't off limits because she's not related.

0
2
reply

Required fields are marked *

If that were the case, then that would be really gross. But I took special care in ep. 5 to see how he interacted with Yi Kyung, what I could see between them was regular sibling affection. I did think it odd though, how he knew all her favorite foods, likes, dislikes and most of her friends, but I put it down to their being really close siblings and Yi Kyung being the only one who he cared for and who cared for him when his mother died, before Doo Rim came along. So in retrospect, it really isn't so odd after all. When you have fewer people to love, I guess you tend to focus more on them, than if your circle of love was wider. And looking back to Yi Hyun's first encounter with Doo Rim, there was certainly astonishment and surprise. With a hint of attraction? I'm not so sure.

0

But by episode 5, he'd already developed deeper feelings for Doo-rim. That could change the way he interacts with his sister, whether or not he has deeper feelings for her.

Anyway, this is all really subjective. I rewatched parts of episode 2, and I stand by my hypothesis that Yi-hyun liked (or likes) Yi-kyung as more than a sister. I'm guessing that there's a birth secret in there somewhere, and that Yi-hyun and Yi-kyung aren't really related. The show is peppered with quite a few nuggets that lead me to believe this, and I do think that they are intentional:

-his intense reaction to Doo-rim going into his sister's room (he was fiercely protective of the room in a way that seemed to come from a deeply emotional place)

-his behavior at the breakfast table, knowing SO much about Yi-kyung's habits to the point that Doo-rim implies that his knowledge extends beyond a brother/sister relationship, and more importantly, his reaction to her implication. He doesn't explain it away or respond, instead, he looks away enigmatically. His silence said a lot to me. I feel like a normal brotherly reaction to that would be "gross!" or at least "we're bffs, weirdo" or something.

-lack of any acknowledgment of weirdness of being attracted to Doo-rim on his part. This may just be poor writing, but we never see him grapple with confusion over his attraction to Doo-rim.

Those are just a few examples, only from episode 2, but I feel like there are little hints all over the place. And beyond any questions of incest, I find this show's treatment of him as the second lead creepier than most in general, with the camera showing intimate scenes between Doo-rim & Kang-ju, and then panning out to show Yi-hyun lurking in the shadows watching them jealously. It's unfortunate, because I actually started out really liking him & shipping him and DR. I find him super hot & think he really does have great chemistry with the lead. But that was before all the lurky-ness & before I realized that he was a bio-sibling to Yi-kyung. I'm curious to see where they go with his character.

0

Its sick and i feel like gagging imagining that with my own brother...but somehow it works between the Yi Hyun and Doo Rim i don't know why (but still oppa has no chance at all, KJ FTW).

Required fields are marked *

Yes, I think that a lot of the "ick" factor was dispelled, for me at least, when I saw the way Yi-Hyun reacted to Yi-Kyung after she came back.

There was a scene where she notices his new necktie and asks him who gave it to him, and whether he's seeing anyone. Yi-Hyun just smiles and tells her straight out that she doesn't have to worry, he's got someone to hang out with now, etc.

I took it to mean that he's not feeling any sense of guilt or discomfort in saying this to Yi Kyung, and more importantly, that he's clear about who he loves - Doo Rim.

He's gonna have to take Doo Rim or Yi Kyung's side once the conspiracy is out - I'm trusting he'll choose Doo Rim.

Looking forward to the tussle between the two boys over Doo Rim!

I watched the first 6 episodes of BOTC in almost one sitting. The first episode didn't pull me in, but continued watching for Hong Ki, and got hooked!

Despite all the cliche, I think that it's the blending of supernatural elements that makes this melo refreshing and fun.

I remember seeing Yang Jin Sung in City Hunter and Secret - I thought she was lovely in her supporting roles, and was wondering when she'd get to shine in a main role. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's a melo, considering I've only ever seen in her in tough roles as police force.

I think she is doing pretty good here so far. It wouldn't be easy acting two seperate personalities.

I'm happy to see Hong Ki outside of his comfort zone. It's almost as if he grew up, you know? He is a man now!
It's not the Hong Ki I'm used to watching, that's for sure. But I can still catch glimpses of his familiar cute charm, which is comforting, along with the revelation of a new side; sex appeal.

I have no idea where the story is taking us, but I'm certain it will be a fun ride. The second lead Doo-rim is annoying as hell, though.

Definitely the only K-drama I'm watching with anticipation right now. It's so cracktastically fantastic! And the female lead is doing a great job of juggling two very different roles; it's like watching two different actresses.

And Jeremy! (Sorry, will always be Jeremy to me) He's now grown into his own man.

Excited to see where this will take us, especially with the strong female leads. I especially love the ghost, who seems to hold the key to everything on this series.

Please do not fail us down the road, BOTC, fighting!

I am watching this show mostly on http://www.drama.net. Love the fewer commercials. Dramafever sometimes gives me a fever with all the commercials and recommercials.

Good Morning Beanies!

I’m coming down from a drama-watching binge as several have finished up and I’m taking my time picking new ones. Loved YFTS, really enjoying TWWMTT, and currently like Emergency Couple and Bride of the Century while just waiting for the end of Give Love Away.

Also, because I’m certain Dramabeans readers are the most knowledgeable Kdrama fans in the world, I’m inviting you to participate in a contest called Name the Kiss. I’m currently working (OK, playing) under 3 names, Korazy Lady, KLnoona and Lafer, which alludes to the schizo nature of my drama loving self, so some you may have seen it already on Twitter.

Happy Friday everyone!

The winter blahs continue. We are having warm days followed by sleet. Whoever kidnapped Spring, I'm gonna kick your you-know-what! :-)

JoAnne and I complete 5 SqueeCap posts:

- I'm all caught up with SqueeCapping Full House Thai. Only two episodes left - anyone think he's going to a monastery like Rain did? I want to see him in the clothing. I do not want to see him shaved, because I love the helmet hair. I will say he's a idiot for not once ever telling Om-Am he loved her, or even that he missed her. Bad mammoth!!
- BOTC Episode 3 SqueeCap should post this weekend. I don't think we will be completely caught up this week, but I'm trying my hardest, because it's so much more fun to speculate on the next episode! Of course, by next week, they'll be two more episodes. And I can't believe we are already half-way through! The characters are ridiculous and cute though, so I'm really enjoying it, even as those recaps loom before me!
-----
CWL is over. The ending wasn't a spectacular extravaganza, but the writer did a decent job tying up most of the plot lines, even if some of them were as satisfying as "the little boy fell out of the bed and woke up". Plus, poor Ah Boy. His was the biggest dangling thread, and they devoted too much time to Ji-hyun and her abusive spouse than on him. Oh well, I'm still fairly content.
------
Gosh, this is prolly the least number of shows I'm watching in a looong time. The next new show I'm looking forward to, is CSW's cop show in April. Since LSG will be in it too, I bet the precinct with have the biggest and best refrigerator on the market!. LOL

This Week's Off Topics: Korean Men, Kisses, White Day, Twitter, calls to Korea, ^^ and :-*

Realized this week that while I've seen a lot of KDrama, I know nothing about REAL Korean men. Culture shocked, not prepared, oh my!

So many kisses. Have you see the 21 KDrama kisses on Problematic of the Unproblematic? A certain Korean asked me what kind of kisses I liked. Umm ... all of them, of course! haha

There is this whole world out there connected to Korean drama that I have been unaware of. How did I go 2 years of drama watching and have no clue about it?

This week, I joined the twitter universe. @jrbeanie17. I vaguely knew JoAnne and other Beanies tweeted. What I hadn't thought about was that I could follow my favorite KDrama stars or get mini Korean lessons. I can't wait to watch a drama while reading Beanies tweet about it.

I feel like I have jumped into a tub full of Korean.

For the rest of the story, see the Open Thread page at jreidy17.

It is a slippery slope down the kdrama slide once you get into tweeting and blogging. And recapping takes it to a whole new level! It is unbelievably time consuming, which is why I don't contribute many blog posts any more. And you are right, those ideas and thoughts just keep swirling around in your head! Good luck with your blog!

I thought I had already slipped as far as I could go in KDrama addiction. Who knew there was more?

I apologize to any who followed my blog and then got inundated with posts. I'm sure soon reality will set in, I will need to resume my regularly scheduled life, and I will stop writing so much. LOL

Quality not quantity, Julia. (shakes a finger at herself!)

I've been looking into learning Korean, but it seems like a significant commitment since most of it is vocabulary memorization after you learn how to construct sentences and conjugate and add particles.

Oh, and pronunciation, lol. I'm pretty sure my tongue locks up when I try to pronounce a word that is more than 2 syllables.

I was wondering what your progress is--that is, when did you start, what methods do you use, how much time do you spend on your self-study weekly, what level do you feel you are at etc.

I am probably the worst example of a language learner you can find. I have done everything in my power to not study ... to only do things that were fun, not learning. Click on the category "not learning" on my. blog to see a list. haha

Yet, I am interested. So here is what I did
1. I started just listening to Korean by watching KDramas.
A KDrama every day.
2. My brain kept trying to match the subtitles to the sound and being confused while I was watching KDramas. I knew the word order and the use of titles instead of names long before I studied it in a book.
3. I bought one book. It had lots of games in it. I ignored everything that was too hard.
4. I bought a set of 60 kids flash cards. Put then in the bathroom.
5. I read a few books about Korea, tried to figure out the cultural stuff, continued watching lots of dramas.
6. I bought first 10 lessons of Pimsleur Korean audio.

This all took me about a year, in my spare time, when I was in the mood. About 10 minutes a day.

7. I learned Hangul. Stopped relying on romanization. Wished I had started with this first.
8. I practiced reading and sounding out Hangul by reading a page a day of "A Rat's Tale" a book of funny slang.
9. I also read an essay a day of NTC's book on Business and cultural words of Korea.
10. I went to Koreatown, NYC for the Dramabeans meet up. I ate Korea food for the first time. I had an orgasm when I discovered a Korean bookstore. Bought lots of books.

Another year passes by and I manage to make my way thru another Korean text book in self study, another 60 children's flash cards, and surf the web in curiosity, listening to pod casts, playing games, learning a few helpful phrases. I hate Pimsleur audio practice, so it is collecting dust.

As yet I have barely written a single thing down. I am stuck because I hadn't figured out how to type Hangul on my computer. It didn't seem necessary when all I thought I was doing this for was to be a little less reliant on subtitles.

I hadn't committed to actually studying the Korean language. I was still hoping drama watching would have the words seep in magically. I had no plan. I didn't set aside specific study time. Yet every single day, for going on 2 years now, I had found at least 10 minutes to indulge my curiosity by reading something in Korean.

Then 3 weeks ago, someone here on the OT recommended the Loving Korean post about learning Korean.

Explosions went off in my life. I learned
- how to type with a virtual Korean keyboard.
- how to find Korean pen pals at Interpals
- in the process of installing software to communicate with pen pals
- admitted I actually wanted to study Korean
- started a blog to document the process, the good, the bad, and the ugly

There are much better ways to learn the language. Talk To Me In Korean and Korean Classroom 101 are probably two of them.

I just wanted to tell you my windy way of warming up to Korean...

Julia -

Wow, I admire your tenacity. This coming from someone who intends to study Korean and Hangul. And has not acted on the intention.

From watching Kdramas, though, I have learned many honorifics, some food names, how to say "Aigoo" and "Aisshh" and "Hwaiting!" And to count hana, dul set!

Hi Julia, I noticed some time back that you were learning Korean. Me too! However, I have gone down a different route to you. I answered an advert offering Korean lessons from someone studying at a local university. Unfortunately, she returned to Korea after a year, but I then found another private tutor who lives here (the UK). I have been studying now for 2 years 4 months. If I say so myself, I am doing pretty good, as I have reached the early stages now of making complex sentences. I have no problem reading, I am fairly decent at translating and creating sentences to make myself understood. The hardest part for me, however, is understanding spoken speech. If it is said slowly, I do ok. But at normal speech speeds, it is difficult to grasp. My tutor has told me that I am early Intermediate level now. It is a tough language though, the sheer volume of different verb endings seem interminable. But I am determined to continue until fluency. I have the bug.

Anyway, as a side note, 2 weeks from today I am off to Korea again!! 6 days in Seoul, 4 in Sokcho, 3 in Danyang, 2 in Cheongju (to visit my tutor from my first year's studying) and then finally 3 more in Seoul. Lots of opportunity to practise!!!

Anna, I am SO jealous. Have a great trip. Tell me all about it when you get back.

Are you going with a tour group, or bravely managing on your own?

Learning with a tutor seems like such a better plan than my way. I so need someone to drill me on pronunciation. I keep picturing that scene from Rooftop Prince with the Joseon era power rangers being drilled on ga, na, da .... etc.

0

No, I am not doing a tour group, I am travelling alone. I did the same last year, but I saw my friend in Cheongju for 2 days, and she arranged for one of her friends to look after me in Busan. I have to admit that I found it very daunting last year, but I am feeling more confident this time around. Not only are my language skills a year further down the line, but I have been to Seoul before and know what to expect, for example on the subway system. I will be totally on my own in Sokcho and Danyang, though, so that is a little bit scary as they are both very rural and I've never been to those places, but I'm still going to do it anyway!!

Bride of the Century (*knock on wood* + any other superstition and bleesings that can be given) is so far good. So I'd say its worth looking up when you have the time. It does nothing really new, but still keeps you guessing as to what will happen. And it does seem like its fully aware of all the cliches and overused plotlines it has and just goes with it like a trooper.

A couple of weeks ago, the same thing happened to me also and I was freaking out. ....... I changed my e-mail address and problem solved. ...... I then gave it a couple of days and I was able to go back to my original e-mail without any problems.

javabeans and girlfriday were kind enough to mention in one of their posts that some of us most likely got caught in their spam filter for some unknown reason. ..... Perhaps this happened to you too.

From what I can see on my computer, this particular issues seems to have been solved. ...... Thanks DB!!

I hope you don't encounter this issue again.

Actually you probably WERE posting - but the posts were taking several seconds to several minutes to show up. Even now I have to refresh the page several times to get new posts to show up, no matter what browser I use.

Yeah sometimes my comments doesn't show up at once, especially at the mobile version. However they are there if you refresh the page.

Manin -

It's not just you, this has been happening to me since February 11th.

I do recall mentioning it in a previous OT a couple of weeks ago and someone did reply that it was happening to them also. ..... However, I don't know if it is happening to everyone, if it's my particular computer, or if it's a site/system thing.

I'm assuming it's simply a new thing that's happening as a result of some of the site changes/expansion.

But yes, with every single comment post, I'm filling everything out over and over.

hi jokers.
drama-distractions to forget all the worries and troubles in Ukraine and elsewhere...
Bride of the Century: very endearing. Not that thrilling, could have more ghosts.
the kidnapping kind of similar to Masters´ Sun.
Lee Hongki trying too hard to be a cold person. it is cute but who are you fooling? he seems like a warm Jeremy-type through and through.
we should think he is a jerk but I still want to hang out, eat ice cream and play with puppies.

watching Can you teach me english? little bizarre...kind of like kdrama crossed with jdorama. this is some new trend I think.
and No breathing, The Thieves... still in the middle of it. not enough time.

I had a weird dream where Jeon Ji Hyun was wearing Godzilla costume.
I think Thieves and F&L in LV got mixed. that was before I saw the recap of Running Man in kangaroo suits.

do you think season 2 of My Love From Another Star would be a good idea or not? is the question today. and what could happen there? same characters or
different ones, with cameos from JJH and KSH.

I think NO on the YFAS season 2. The biggest part in my opinion was the chemistry between the leads and JJH's perfect rendition of CSY, and that cannot be reproduced.

Something similar? Maybe, but it won't have the same magic.

I agree. I don't think they'd get JJH back so easily, and I was more in love with her than I was with him! It would not be the same without her.

Required fields are marked *

YFAS season 2 is a no for me as well. As much as I love this drama, still in love with it, and still missing it, it wouldn't be the same without the two leads. Their chemistry is what makes this drama so successful.

When I read that the Director was putting it out there that there are many Do Min Joo possibilities, that Cheon Song Yi was not his first love, I thought he might have hit his head and suffered amnesia. There was one particular scene where DMJ told Lawyer Jang he's never been in love before. Personally, I love the idea that DMJ and CSY are each other's first love. It adds a certain pureness to their relationship, which to me makes them even more unforgettable.

It sounded like the Director wanted to do a series much like the Americans sci-fi ones, like Journey for instance. Perhaps, a spin-off but definitely not a sequel without these two leads!

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

YFAS season 2 will most likely not happen. He was probably just saying that as a tease, perhaps joking around. Easier to be said than done.
He'd then have to cast different actors (because i doubt KSH and JJH would retread the same characters) AND he'd have to explain away how cheon song-yi is not do min joon's first love.
If this PD wants to do another YFAS-related show, then he would have to think of a completely different story, characters, and time period. I don't know, can we have a half-alien/half-human baby from do min joon and cheon song-yi from the future? Or do min joon's parents from the past?
Whatever the case, IF the writer agrees to it, if the producer agrees to it, then incorporating do min joon and cheon song yi as leads will be highly unlikely. They will get alot of backlash for that. Kim Soo Hyun + Jeon Ji Hyun made that show. Take them away, and you will lose 75% of what made that show good.

Regarding a season 2 of YFAS, I'm going to vote "no" on this.

I'm still watching it and I still have 5 episodes to go, but from what I've watched so far I have to say that this is one of those times where everything (story, actors, pacing, etc) is working like a finely tuned machine that, once stopped, you're uncertain if it'll work the same way again if you start it again.

It's like the stars in the sky aligned and we were able to see something shining onscreen. (No pun intended. Heh.) ..... It just doesn't happen frequently.

Is it okay to come to OT just to say hi? I've been missing my homies (you guys) for weeks, but I didn't have anything to say except, 'hi, I miss you'. So since it's been over a month, I am giving myself permission!

So...that's all. I don't really have anything else to say.

Oh wait, I do.

- In Sly and Single Again: does Seung-hyun (So Kang-joon) remind anyone else of Lee Jong-suk? It's his expressions, and that wide smile, and also a little similarity in the face. He's adorable, either way, haha!

- I think the new recappers are really, really good - even though a lot of them are first-timers, it doesn't show at all: they sound experienced, their voice really fits in, and they're just doing such a great job. Also a non-token mancapper (purplecow)! I know I'm not the only one curious about a 'male perspective', or if there is such a thing, and I remember samsooki's recaps of My Name is Kim Sam-soon were made extra interesting because of the different perspective (also he was a great 'capper) and I know a lot of us miss him. So anyway: waxing enthusiastic about the new writers.

- I spent last weekend on trying all the new dramas and God's Gift - 14 Days. Oh man. This feels like crack: it's intense, complicated, clever and it hurts (but the worst is over right? It canNOT get worse XD) but it's so good. I'm not caught up on this week's eps yet...I almost feel like I don't want to watch it, because once I'm done, they're finished.
- The new Veronica Mars movie is nearly out! So excited. Any other VM fans?

- How do you introduce kdrama to non-kdrama folks? I tend to start with, 'well, you know BBC period dramas? They're like that, but not period, and not BBC,' which to me, sums it up, but I wonder if you guys had different strategies?

- What was the last show you loved, and why? Not limited to kdrama. I'm looking for something new to watch (I'm saving the laaaaast episode of Sherlock, which I finally started watching 5 years late)(I love it so much) so I'm curious!

Also addicted to God's Gift...soo good.

I'm finally getting around to watching Queen In-Hyun's Man and am loving it!

I've been watching some Korean movies too, the last being The Thieves (great!), Daisy (okay), and Man From Nowhere (disturbing but good and with Won Bin no less ^^)

Enjoy!
