Giveaway hootenanny: CDs and OSTs!
by javabeans
It’s a giveaway! It’s a hootenanny! It’s a giveaway hootenanny!
Here’s the shortened version of how this giveaway came to be: gummimochi says, “Hey, I have this CD I want to give away to fans to celebrate my anniversary with Dramabeans,” and we says, “That’s a great idea, let’s steal it and give away LOTS of stuff, because as we know, more is always better!”
So we’re giving away OSTs, one from each of us, just to say thanks for being you, and for sharing our neverending love of all things kdrama.
Rules:
Leave a comment here (with your real email address!), explaining why you’d like to win the CD of your choice. Maybe this was your favorite drama EVAR, or maybe you really want that disc to use for dart practice. Whatever floats your boat. You may enter for any or all of the CDs (separate comment per entry, please), but be sure to specify which particular one you are addressing.
Note that winners will NOT be picked in a random selection; each of us will choose one winner, to be announced next week. Meet back here on Sunday, August 12, for results!
gummimochi:
This time one year ago, I could never have imagined that I would be able to share my everlasting love for variety, drama, and pop music to a beautiful you. Putting all those together, I’ve chosen SHINee’s new mini-album, “Sherlock.”
Min-ho will be headlining the upcoming drama, To the Beautiful You, where he needs to be clued in that a he might be a she. Not like it takes Sherlock Holmes-esque detective skills to figure that out though, but hey – this is kdrama-land.
kaedejun:
Time flies when you’re having fun! It feels like yesterday when I wrote my first recap, and I can still remember that experience. 12 recaps and 2 years later, I’m still living through that experience – which I’ll never forget – thanks to Dramabeans, where discussion, fan-girling (or fan-guying), and sharing flow through like streams of consciousness during the lazy days of summer. Speaking of summer – this is why I’ve chosen the You’ve Fallen For Me OST. Its OST makes me think of sunshine, happiness, sunflowers, and daisies. Really. And it features CN Blue’s Jung Yong-hwa and Kang Min-hyuk, which is one of my few favorite bands (second to the almighty Big Bang). So I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and live this summer out as carefree and happily as the students of You’ve Fallen For Me. I’ll see you at the beach!
HeadsNo2:
This is a soundtrack near and dear to my heart, not only because Chuno will always remain one of my all time favorite dramas, but because it also represents one of my favorite aspects of dramas and Dramabeans – the ability to bring people together. By melding history with modern sensibilities, it’s a drama that broke ground and appealed to a mass audience, whether they were seasoned sageuk lovers or complete newbies to the genre. No matter what our favorite genre is, we all look for stories with the ability to move us, to transport us to another world, to be thought-provoking, to give us a reason to want to gather and share our thoughts, our experiences, and our love of community. One hundred posts later, I’ve definitely come to treasure the discussion that happens here and all the wonderful insights I’ve learned from our time together, and hope you can enjoy a soundtrack that moved and inspired me as much as I did, if not more. Oh, and ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥.
javabeans:
There are a lot of reasons for me to single out Shut Up: Flower Boy Band, like the fact that it remains, more than halfway through 2012, the drama that touched my heart the most this year. Other dramas had the big twists, the high drama, the epic conflicts, and the quirky high concepts—but Shut Up, despite its small world and small stories, had for me the sincerest connection with emotion and angst. The people felt real and the drama was fueled by that pounding, aching, fluttering and sometimes raging heart that drove its characters.
But you know what? All that aside, Shut Up: Flower Boy Band had awesome music. It had the deftest way of working its music into the plot, effectively making its soundtrack a running storyline like it was a character of its own. So there.
girlfriday:
An epic drama that managed to steal my heart in an epic way. The King 2 Hearts swept me up in its tense action, side-splitting comedy and sweet romance at every turn, and the score played a big part in keeping me enraptured in that world. It’s also a drama that reminded me of the fervor of fandom — you guys made the crazy train fun (also crazy), and I was happy to come along for the ride. This OST probably marks those few months in time — the OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT crack addiction — as much as the drama itself. Here’s to love in the DMZ, and sharing good dramas with friends from around the globe. Cheers.

Shut up flower boy band OST
Why well because it was a drama that exceeded my expectations.
I really liked it because it really represents how me and my friends are. After i started watching it i got one of my friends to watch it and she couldn't agree more that all the characters were just like our friends (minus the fact that none of us are dead XD ). Its also a drama who's ending i actually liked/watched because I've watched almost every k-drama out there but i never watch the ends ill watch till the 2nd last ep and just read the review f the end never actually watch it because i never seemed to like them cause who know when a drama will end like bad guy -___- cooughworstendevercough
Also on the other hand the OST has really been amazing since i love when i hear k-rock :D

King 2 Hearts OST
I thought I was a fangirl before, but I was sorely mistaken. It wasn't until K2H came along that I knew what true fangirling meant (or noona-girling, lol). Lee Seung-Gi? *swoon* And to have his voice singing to me on repeat? *double swoon* There's also fanning in general at the show, especially with a kickass heroine!
Not to mention that I enjoyed the soundtrack while watching K2H (I've already watched it 3 times). I literally started jumping around the room when Taeyeon performed "Missing You Like Crazy" on Music Core!
The soundtrack was perfectly played to every moment of the drama, and to have a little piece of K2H would be amazing.

Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST!!
Shut Up flower boy band is my favorite drama of all times. It had everything i loved packed together adorably in a drama: bromance, adorable couples, and most importantly a lesson learned at the end.
Though this drama wasn't a hit in korea, it will always stay in my heart as the best drama of all times! No matter how many times i rewatch it i will never get sick of it! Haha, i've actually convinced most of my friends to also try it ^^
I would be in heaven if i happened to get the OST! adkfjlskdj their vocals adf;slkdjsl so lovely! My favorite song from the OST is Jaywalking. I love the casual feel of the song and how it connects with the main couple (lol rooftop couple my ultimate otp!)
And thank you all for being so kind and starting this giveaway =D

You've Fallen For Me
OMG!!! Can't believe this and hope I win this. The OST for this drama was what made me tune in every week aside from the fact that Jung Yong Hwa starred in this drama but all the songs that they played while this drama aired was just so fitting and beautiful. LOVE BECAUSE I MISS YOU the most. I still get teary eyed every time I listen to this song and it would be awesome to own a copy of this OST so I hope and pray that I will get picked to win this cd. PLEASE!!!! I AM BEGGING YOU!!!! LET ME WIN DRAMA GODS...... TT__TT

Shut Up! Flower Boy Band OST please! :)
There's a lot of things I can say why I chose this one, but the number one reason is that the drama led me to love Sung Joon. Sure, he was in "Lie to Me" and was great in there, too, but I didn't like that drama (I didn't even try watching it). He also got loads more of appeal and charisma in "Shut Up!"
Besides that big reason, I can't tell how much I love Lee Min Ki's "Not in Love" (sounds ironic when I think about it). I've listened to it thousands of times and still do. He just sounds so cool in that song (as if he's not cool enough by himself), and there's a part of me that kind of relates to the song. So, yeah, can't help love, love, loving the song.

As a recent graduate from Film School, my Korean Drama addiction is one that I can sometimes find hard to admit to. The acting is almost always over dramatic compared to that of Americans and the stories are always very out there.
South Koreans have something going for them in their television. They are definitely on the right track. They've got story and camera work down. The problem people normally fault them for is acting.
However, Shut Up Flower Boy Band is one of the first Korean Dramas that I could show to my fellow film students. It had everything: great acting, great camera work, great writing, and SUCH a wonderful soundtrack.
Shut Up Flower Boy band has certainly surpassed Coffee Prince as my go to drama to get other people addicted like I am.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST
This soundtrack was so great. The songs always go into my head. Sung Joon's amazing voice.. I think that I didn't really like this type of rockish music until I watched this drama. Oh and Lee Min Ki's appearance in the drama was so unforgettable. The concert in the beginning left me still squirming and squealing with feelings of just wanting to be there. God, I just can't express how much I loved this drama.

King 2 Hearts OST You know your addicted to Korean Drama (or should I say this particular one) if your watching said program in the wee hours of the morning, in a hotel room before you present your paper at a grad. conference in a couple of hours. But it was it worth because that just how I much I loved watching this show... :D

I went to watch Shut Up Flower Boy Band for L and came out 16 episodes later fully engrossed with each and every episode. SUFBB is actually the second K-drama that I've ever finished (Full House was my first one 5 years ago; I've never finished Big, BOF, 49 Days, You're Beautiful and the other slew of dramas). SUFBB was very refreshing and what I really enjoyed about this dramas was the development of the characters and relationships [I'm currently having the same positive feelings towards Reply 1997 as well]. I also loved the soundtrack. My favourite song was Lee Min Ki's rendition of 'Not In Love' and 'Love U Like U' by L and Ye Rim. Definitely 2 beautiful songs that I always go back to and listen to pretty much every other day. It would definitely be a great honour to win this OST~! Thank you~

Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST
This is the drama that made me serious about learning Korean. Why? Because I had to sing the awesome lyrics. I looooooooooooove every. single. song. in this OST. And I can belt it out in misprounced, off-key Korean to prove it. (Well, except for "Not in Love" which is in English, but I can still sing it off-key for you if you'd like =P)
Help me with my attempted bilingual-ness! Raising the Korean literacy/speaking rate one OST at a time.

Hi!! I'm katasu1996!!!
The CD I'm requesting for is the King 2 Hearts OST. The reason is because there are very few dramas that have made me cry or feel as emotional as I did as when I watched this one. There are only three other dramas that have made me feel the way I felt about King 2 Hearts and cry as I did for it. They are: Boys Over Flowers (This was my first drama, and it's what made me fall in love with korean dramas in the first place. Although I've watched it many times since that time, and I now see all the flaws it has, BOF holds a place dear to my heart since it was my first drama.), Playful Kiss (I am a pure sucker for the two main leads), and IRIS (When Kim Seon Hwa confessed and was rejected by Byung Hee, my heart broke for her. I cried hard for that girl. Throughout the series, she was my favorite character, and still is one of my favorite characters throughout all the ones I've seen played in dramas. That drama made me love the actress Kim So Yeon. I love Kim Tae Hee too, but I still feel slightly bitter when I see her. I loved and love character Seon Hwa too much.) However, King 2 Hearts really broke my heart. When Jae Shin received the video message from Eun Shi Kyung, I really broke down. I loved and shipped that couple more than any of my friends watching it did, and after that episode, I spent part my day speaking to my friend about it. I think that one of the things King 2 Hearts did for me was that it made me feel like I was watching something real. The conflicts were so heart-wrenching, and every week I awaited the next episode with anticipation. In all, that drama is like BOF to me: I will watch it again and again throughout the years and I'll recognize flaws I missed while I was glorifying it the first time around. However, it will always have a special place in my heart. It will always have 60% ratings to me.
Thanks for reading my request letter!!! I hope I win!!!

Chuno Ost!!! This was, hands down, the most epic ost to accompany the most action-packed story ever. This drama was my first taste of sageuk, and I have been hooked ever since. I loved the characters, loved the plot, and loved the action. A badass Jang Hyuk riding off into the sunset searching for his long lost love? Yup. The music is what made this drama truly a favorite though. Just like the drama, it was epic & emotional, and made me really feel for each character:)

Hi! Houa, here!
Just the mere sight of the picture got the song "Jaywalking" playing in my head. Flower Boy Band was really a tough one to beat and get over for me, I'm a sucker for the coming of age genre and catchy music... best friends together through thick and thin.
I'm having a hard time getting over all the heart, the youthful-ism, the bittersweetness, and.... Byung Hee-ah!!!! Gosh!!! I can't get over his death!!!
So, I would like the Flower Boy Band OST so I can party along and relive every moment without having to sit by my laptop for hours and hours. And maybe cry a couple times. Lol.

I would love to win the Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST.
I got hooked to this drama on the first ep, and loved it. I adore their close friendship, it was definitely one of the factors that made me like this drama so much. Many kdramas don't pay attention to friendship as much as they do for romance, and although this drama involved a few love lines, friendship was the key. I love all the boys. Byunghee the daredevil, Ji Hyuk the leader, Hyun Soo the cold guy, Do Il the charismatic drummer, Kyung Jong the cute Busan boy , and Ha Jin the casanova.

i'd really like the you've fallen for me ost because although this drama was not the best of its kind (which is cool since i still absolutely LOVEDD it!!), music was a very important factor for this drama and music is literally my life. i play the violin just like every korean in my city and i've learned although it's a traditional instrument, you can still rock out on it. plus i can relate when park shinhye's character's grandfather disproved of her playing with a band. i can relate because my parents don't believe in my musical dreams and seeing PSH's character's grandpa get used to the idea gives me hope. :)

Firstly, Id like to thank all of you for your amazing recaps<3 They are just as enjoyable as watching the drama itself. Sometimes it just makes it easier to get through it... Anyway, I'd really like to own the OST for You've Fallen For Me because I love Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong-Hwa from You're Beautiful. It could be because I just love the way the actors click, but I just thought they were amazing in the drama. Who could hate Yonghwa? I'm also a huge fan of CN BLUE, so personally I want anything with their name on it. Haha thats all, thanks for giving us the opportunity to win such cool CD and keep up the good work!~

OMG, The King 2 Hearts OST, please, Girlfriday!
I am not Korean, but this drama was such a revelation for me because it made me care about the whole NK/SK issue and made me take a closer look at many aspects of Korean politics and society. Love in the DMZ, yo! I honestly did not care about the subtexts in dramas before (except perhaps when it's a sageuk because the very setting demands it) but it was such an important element in K2H despite the semi-fictional set-up of the modern monarchy that learning more about the political and societal issues made watching the show a better experience. And that means I now take a closer look at these aspects for all the new dramas I watch.
In addition, the music used in this drama is so evocative that just listening to one of the instrumental tracks or one of the songs takes me back to my favorite scenes. I don't think I can ever listen to "Missing You Like Crazy" without getting mental images of falling cherry blossoms and Jae-ha asking Hang-ah to be his Queen. Or just plain remembering all the fun and crazy fan squeeing and sobbing and screaming we Hearties all did while we were watching and discussing the drama. I would love to experience those feelings all over again even if the drama is over (and to go back to a time when Lee Seung-gi was actively on TV, because I miss him!), so I hope to win! :)
Thanks for hosting this giveaway! :)

I'd love to own a copy of the OST to Shut Up: Flower Boy Band. Even though it ended months ago, I still get the warm fuzzies when I think about, and I think my heart is still a little bruised from the epic bromance(s).
This is one show that is all about heart: the characters and emotions got me in the gut every time, and I will love it forever. And so much of that is because of the pitch-perfect music. I loved the characters and directing more than I can say, but the best soundtracks are the ones that add to everything a drama already has and bring it all together seamlessly.
There are few dramas that I come away from still humming the tunes months later, and Shut Up is one of those. Whether it was a quiet scene with one or all of the boys or a loud rock concert, the music in Shut Up was always appropriate, always a cut or five above, and always noteworthy without distracting me from the drama itself.
Now every time I listen to a track from the OST, I'm flooded with memories of the characters and my favorite moments. The songs have a way of taking me back to the feelings that Shut Up stirred in me, as well as connecting with me on a personal level at this time in my life. And that is the mark of great soundtrack and a great drama.
Sorry for going on and on, and thank you, javabeans!

I would love to have the King 2 Hearts' OST CD. I'm a big fan of Lee Seung-gi and his acting in the King is such a big improvement from his previous roles; it made me love the drama even more. Though admittedly, the drama has flaws, it's still my favorite of the year.
I've dying to get my hands on the OST since the drama ended. I absolutely love (and I can't emphasize this enough) the instrumental tracks. They are gorgeous! Gosh, uhm...that's pretty much the reason why I would love to have this CD. xD

You've fallen for me OST
First things first. Thank you so so so much for the opportunity. You guys are wingless angels fallen from the sky--which made me fallen for you! ...or was that too much and I crept you out..
Despite myself being a long time fan of CNBlue, sadly I don't own any of their CDs. I know. Bad me.. I want to use this opportunity to own the first CD of theirs! It's not a lie to say I watched the drama for the songs since the storyline was never tangible from beginning to the end. And please duly note the fact that romance and I are like water and oil and yet I managed to sit through this lovey dovey drama for its beautiful soundtrack.
I'm a piano player, so my plan is to do a cover on one of the songs and upload on youtube. If that ever happens, my raised glass will be for you! Thanks once again!

I would like 'You've fallen for me' OST.
I hated this drama but loved all the songs specially the one mixed with traditional music (I don't know if it's in the Ost though *fingers crossed*). I listened to 2 of the songs non stop for days... and nights until my neighbor yelled at me one night at 3 in the morning saying that it was enough. I still listened to them for days but with headphones...
Also I would like 'Shut up flowers boys band' OST because I want to have it.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST please.
I think the OST is just about perfect and sung by the actors themselves how crazy beautiful is that. I have a very funny story to tell, at the height of my addiction I always play Wake Up at full volume every freakin morning. I should have been more considerate of my neigbours but I was living in oblivious heaven imagining Sung Joon singing to me. Going home one day I heard someone calling me, Ate! (equivalent of Unni in our language). She asked if I was the one playing that song every morning, nowhere to hide I confessed to my crime. Turns out she liked the song and wanted a copy so being the considerate person that I am I took her home and introduced her to SUFBB. She never looked back and has since became my spazzing mate on all things K related.

SHINee's Sherlock!! I've LOVED the boys since Day 1 of their debut and now I'm psyched that Minho is acting as the male lead to the Korean version of Hana Kimi! Now I don't know if he can act or not, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he gives off the most incredible manly serious stares (perfect for Sano haha). He's not called flaming charisma for nothing!

*Shut Up: Flower Boy Band
I just discovered this show recently (the cheesy title kept me away from it for a good five months) and I fell in LOVE. The characters are so human and seem so real; the writer did an excellent job keeping the story moving with plot points that never felt cheap or contrived. Through each of the drama's sixteen episodes, it held my heart on a string and each little tug would make me cry for the band's heartbreak, smile for their success, or squee over the epic bromance.
The music is one of the (many) things this show did right. The tracks that Eye Candy composed are catchy, raw, and sincere. It really was believable that they were an up-and-coming band of humble origins. The rest of the OST did a great job of setting the tone and establishing the intimate world of SU:FFB. I would really enjoy having the OST; I would listen to it over and over, share it with my (not-yet-converted-to-k-dramas-friends), and let the music transport me once again into its world with the characters that I love so much.
Thanks to each of the generous dramabeans writers for putting this contest on! I really appreciate all the work y'all put into this site.

The Shut Up Flower Boy Band OST for me please!!!
To date, that's the drama I've been most crazy about this year. I would refresh your page every 5 mins just to read the recaps for the drama and even watched the drama raw (something i never did before with other dramas) and... the craziest thing i ever did because of the drama was to actually google and find out how you get to rent an oktapbang in Korea. -hides in shame-
but HEY... if i got a freaking cute neighbour like Ji-Hyuk cos of the oktapbang, why not?
When i told my fiance about it, he certified me as offically K-drama insane. =P
Btw, my nick really is Yeesh... it's a shortform for my real name Yi Shan. So... if you ladies don't mind, would u try pls... to use a different word when something bad happens on 2d1n instead of Yeesh? Please??? It's like reading my name = something bad happening to one of those darling boys.
Love u girls btw!!!

The Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST!
opportunity it is! thank you first and foremost!
since i was a kid, i grew up lovin' local (philippines) rock bands (i.e. juan dela cruz band, POT), and later on, it doesn't matter to me if it's rock-ness is on the pop, hard, metal side (e.g. E-heads). i just love them so well! thru this show, i was able to try to discover bands/music in korea (i.e. cn blue, FTI), including underground/indie ones (e.g. the koxx).
what i love about the show is that it's not focused on the fantasy of the usual drama endings we see but the story has reality, inspiration, hope and (b)romance all intertwined.
shut up just inspired me so well to go and take a look at bands/music from other asian countries, specially underrated/underground ones. :)
shut up's songs are smooth and catchy and head- banginly awesome. i love the "umph!", the crispiness of the beat, rhythm, the swag in jaywalking and wake up, and the mystery there is in the lyrics. even without knowing the lyrics, i get the feel of these songs. that's how affective the songs are.

I seem to have a lot of competition for this. But I would also like the "heartstrings/you've fallen for me" OST because while I actually was slightly disappointed in the drama, I LOVE the idea of fusioning modern music and traditional one and having that be represented by the people playing said music.
Also, while the actual execution of this story kinda fell short, it's still a really nice (and gorgeously shot) drama that depicts the slice of life that is college, a time I would still very much like to go back to sometimes to reminisce the good times I had there.
Oh and thank you for your generous giveaway! =D

There is of course the other super obvious reason, I actually really like the music. Yonghwa's song that he sang with his "father character" was really moving when I watched it. I love the idea of reconnecting their bond through music.
Oh and thank you for your generous giveaway! =D

King 2 heart!!!
You can't just give 2 heart for this drama. This drama is one of my favorite k-drama this year. It is a well mix drama, you can laugh, cry, happy, and sad, along with the story line. The casts also are also the best team, can't imagine other combination will bring the same feeling for the viewers. It is sad that eun si kyung ended up passed away, I am still wishing that he will appear suddenly and give surprise to everyone. Listen to the ost will remind me to the some particular scene in the drama. Most of the are encouraging scenes, beside the happy and memorable others. And it'll make my day.
Cheers~

SHINee’s “Sherlock”
Oh Gummimochi could I be snarky with this please, I like Shinee, if the drama could include Taemin in a cameo that would just be sooooo awesome. Minho will not find out that he's a she because his BFF looks just like her and cue Minho carrying Taemin and the other 14578234 cute moments this two shared. That would be the K-twist in the story.

Chuno!
I'm going to keep this short, but man am I a huge sucker for any and all historical fiction (masterpiece theater!) and even more so for historical action, which is one reason why I love Korean dramas because they produce this stuff more often than the rest of the world :D
And not only am I a huge history nerd but I sooo love the [well made] anti-heros and holy crap did Jang Hyuk do such a good job!
Anyways, I'd love the Chuno soundtrack please! :D

I would like to win the Shut Up: Flower Boy Band OST. This drama dealt with the trials of growing up like no other drama I have ever seen. Character development occurred at a good pace and it was well-written. The ending was both satisfying and realistic; two things that are can be hard to come by in dramaland. Plus, the soundtrack rocked!

I would love to win Chuno's album!! Why? The drama is amazingly scripted along with the wonderful actors/actresses. And ahh, can't forget the AMAZING osts! Chuno really made me feel in love with Korea's culture. It was interesting seeing the slaves fight the nobles for freedom and a place in the society. Growing up, I have always learned about how African Americans were treated like in America, so it was nice that this drama gave me a glimpse of how their slaves were treated like. When I go to Korea on the 15th of this month, I will surely learn more about Korea's history!!!! :)

Wow!! I would really like SHINee’s “Sherlock”: not for me but for my little sister. she always you tubes SHINee. Not only in home, when I try to AUX while driving she always has to you tube SHINee through my phone and just for the record, she is Min-ho crazy. I don't know how she came across him, but she can't stop talking about him. I think just because of him, she watch all the Star team episodes. I am not big of idol group, but she is crazy about it. Since we are towny, its hard to get these CDs. it would be great surprise for her before school starts if she gets it. Can't wait to see her face if I get picked here. lol.
