Actually, that's the polite explanation. Seriously though, the whole OT idea came about because I talk about TOP too much. And my little sister talks about Siwon too much. And Diadda needed a place to show us her videos and limericks. And I have pigeons.

Ha! I'll provide the chloroform!

And a taser for all the other fangirls who may get in our way. Move it or lose it biatches!

0

Awesome! But you still need to go through a background check. How you answer the following question will determine your eligibility to join "Operation Super Secret Hush Hush Planned on a Public Forum" ;)

How do you feel about Choi Si Won?

0

Answer: Choi Siwon is a very good brother-in-law whom I will never touch because he belongs to my little sister Viola. Also, no other girl will ever touch him, ever, because he belongs to my little sister Viola. Also, if any other girl ever touches him my pigeons will harm her (the girl, not Viola).

0

unnie, you just gave away the answer! Now, how am I suppose to find out that Okie dokie won't run off with him, after she(?) chloroforms him?

Trust is very important in carrying out such a sensitive mission! :)

0

No worries, he's hot, I drool, I look, but I won't touch. I'm saving myself for someone else... (*Daniel Henney*) =D And Yoon Eun Hye!!

0

and Hyori, can I have her too? Or is this asking for too much? See...I have too many on my plate for your Siwon. =D

0

But I have pigeons to ensure that your Siwon will not be surrounded by people with nefarious intent, so you need not worry about okie dokie...

0

You guys have time to tase & drag Eric back for me right? Thanks.

0

@okie dokie
Henny, Hyori and Eun Hye? Looks like someone is going to be a busy bee! ;)

The English major nerd in me totally loves the sound of
" Henny, Hyori, Eun Hye" alliteration and assonanance...ooh *shiver* ;)

I don't know what it was...perhaps lack of dialogue, or action, I was just waiting for something to happen. I mean, I understood the movie, and I'll admit it was creative and the acting was good. But movies that are too artsy tend to kill me slowly and painfully.

Maybe I'm like a dude and need more adrenaline injected into my movies.

Hi OTers,
It's been hectic in my country, tsunami and volcanic eruption.there are no words to describe how painful the situation now.these tragedies make me think a lot,of how we are so vulnerable, anything can happen.yet,we strive to survive because life is so precious.i guess when youre in a situation where you think you come close to death make you appreciate every piece of life.you want to keep it safe in your pocket of memory.

My 3-Iron DVD was borrowed and never returned damn youuuuuuu....
Your right it was a good movie, hell even my dormmates were able to finish it and they hate watching movies with subtitles. The consensus was that Jae hee is crazy. I never disabuse them of that notion too hard to explain that he was tring to be a shadow, to live in occupied space. Even I can't explain it to myself *sigh*.

Can't wait for the next epi of Dr. Champ. I'm so curious on who will Yeon Woo will end up with, I like them both but I still prefer Do Wook. :) And I just want to ask if am I the only one who thinks that Go Bum, Park Ji Heon, Cha Eun Suk and Yoon Sang Bong an eye candy? They're all hot! LOL I really like the angst of Go Bum. :) Dr. Champ is really my current addiction and I'm looking forward to watch It's alright Daddy's Girl coz of Donghae and Kim Tae Ho.

Also, I really hope that Jo Hyun Jae will accept Love Song as his comeback drama. It's been months and they still haven't announce who the male lead is. :(

Happy Friday DB family :D

I've been suffering from K drama withdrawal this week. I had a guest from out of the country. In true desi style I was cooking up a storm and shopping for gifts for my nephew and his family. I also got to go on a school field trip with my son to N.A.S.A. Ames :D It was really nice. They asked for the chaperons info. two weeks in advance. I think they did a full background check on us before we were allowed on base :P. ( They must not have read this blog :P )

I still have not seen episode 20 of SKKS. Where can I watch the full episode? Help!!!!!! It's been driving me crazy all week!!!!!

This week I finally ordered my desired Kindel from Amazon & got in in 2 days [that was a huge surprise as I live outside of the US] - all I can say is the Kindel is the best device for reading books. I already downloaded many favorites of mine to it and am looking forward to tomorrow, when I will at long last get a chance to read some books who have been on my "must read list" for months.

0

Required fields are marked *

I love my Kindle too :D Now I can get lots of my favorite books and not clutter up my bookshelves. Last year I had to say farewell to 10 boxes of books *sobs*, they were taking up half my closet space (I had already filled my bookshelves to the max, and this was the overflow).
I must confess, I miss holding a proper book. Also the book covers are not in color. :(

Is the Kindle worth it? I'm considering it but there's just something about holding a book and not looking at a screen that I really enjoy...how's the transition?

Woo Hoo Giants won the World Series!!!! We were glued to our set that day. I wish they had won here in San Fran.

Kindle is nice it gives you a feel of reading a paperback. The screen is not backlit like a computer, so you can read it in the sun with no glare. Check out the new Nook too it is in color and has a touch screen. With the Nook you can get free books from your local library too.

0

LOL And now every one open up their true identity (that how a family supposed to be) ;)

0

I live outside to the US so its definitely worth it for me. I save tons of money on shipping rates & save time by getting the books instantly without waiting for them to arrive by mail.

The transition between pages while reading is smooth and I find Its easy to adjust. the device isnt too big [like the IPod] so it doesnt tire either your eyes or hands.

I also debated and in the end decided to buy an ebook device. the Kindel was the best choice for me b'cos it allows me to enjoy a large variety of content. it suited me more than the Nook or even a e-reader sold in my country which offered very small choice of books.

Holding a book in your hands while reading a pleasure that as a book lover I will never give up. I am still going to be buying hard copy of books that I enjoy and plan to re-read over the years. so far, I am the only one in my family who likes the kindel so there is no question of us not buying or reading books taken from the public library.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

I know the feeling of having to say goodbye to a collection of books I had for many years. when we changed apartments I saw no way to take all mt books with me and had to donate some to the public library. The great advantage of the Kindel is the space it saves.

0

Yeah, I know what you mean. I love books. I love having them. For now, I'm not an e-reader. Even though I do check them out from time to time.

0

Some say there's a sensation of touching the paper with hands that makes people keep coming back to books even there's e book reader. A book is safer for the eyes (my eyes hurt reading e-book to much) and save you from the inconvenience on having to find electricity source, in case you travel to a place without electricity.

0

I fought the whole e-reader thing for so long too. I gave in and got it because it is great for travel. I can't sleep on an airplane, so I read the whole time. I used to have to carry four paperbacks with me ( two for the outgoing journey and two for the return). San. Fran. to Islamabad is a LONG flight :(

Happy Friday.....

Because you all and JB high recommendation, I stared watching Soulmate last week. Oh yeah forget to mention, the premise: The OTP won't truly meeting until half of the series.

Oh Ok like usual my random comments: Before watching this series, I thought my sister is my soulmate in certain way. But Soulmate gives the highest definition of Soulmate. Soulmate: The person who accidentally meets you every where & uses the cloth that color matching with yours, has the same taste of music or food, and the most important thing can read your mind. And now, I'm more confuse what Soulmate is all about.

I don't judge series, it's bad or not, not to this series or all kdrama series that I've watched before. Everyone has her/his own cup of tea. But I would like to compare it with series I watched recently: I like WISFC, Wish Upon A Star and SoAM more, same with Friend Our Legend, not more than Love & Marriage. And ups I like Cinderella sister and World Within more than this (I know there're many people who disappointed with this two series, hee). Ok I prefer a classic conventional type of kdrama than the type kdrama that Soulmate has.
Those classic conventional type of kdrama is the reason behind my unreasonable love to kdrama.

And now I wait impatiently for My Bus to take me fast to Monday.... SKKS So Long, Au Revoir

Some of the games are repetitive but they are SOO funny. I think my fave is the game where the chasing team wears bells. Yoo Jae-suk is hilarious. And the loveline between Gary and Song Ji-hyo is funny too. Now that SKKS is over hopefully Joong-ki will be on more.

Happy Friday!

This week kicked me while I was already down. Not only am I suffering from a head cold but:

NaNoWriMo started on Monday. I managed to get my 2k word goal for the day done, same on Tuesday (even though I was working on a presentation/project that my prof railroaded me with). But failed on Wednesday (didn't write a single word because I had a 6pg paper to due as well as a 2pg single spaced paper to finish) and yesterday I made it up by writing a little over 4k words.

This weekend I hope to get to 14k words because I will be doing nothing all weekend...though that is a total lie because I will hopefully be watching eps 52/3 of Life is Beautiful...but only if WITHS2 releases it. I would donate for VIA access, but I'm waiting until Athena starts airing to do that. Oh and homework, I have a paper due next week as well as rough draft of another paper. And I have to catch a train on Wednesday to go home for the long weekend (Veteran's Day on the 11th, skipping class Friday, Family Reunion on Sat, and trip to visit family in NH on Sunday).

When I going to have time to watch anything between NaNo, all my homework, and family stuff? Only this weekend and next Friday...

Hope everyone's Friday isn't as hectic as mine is going to be (this friday, not next).

hey, my sister does NaNoWriMo every year! Sounds hard to me...

good luck keeping up with it! If it were me, my writing would eventually lose to watching dramas. lol...it really is like drugs. :-p

Yes, drama watching is like a drug. But I can multi-task and watch a drama while writing; it's just a bit difficult when I get on a roll with my writing because I tend to focus more on that then the drama. It doesn't help that the cast in my novel is Asian and the settings are Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. Makes me want to watch dramas more.

Good Luck to your sister though!

I've been watching K-dramas for years, but for the first time I'm thankful for them in helping me keeping my sanity while I'm looking for a job for the first time.

Happy Friday everyone!

I'm in the very last stretch of SKKS and I'm so sad it's ending. I always do this to myself. I will marathon a series cuz it's so darn good, trying to watch 3,4,5 eps each night after work before i pass out... and then before you know it it's over and i'm sad that i didn't take longer to enjoy it. I did this with City Hall too... sigh.

So I just wanted to say thanks so much to all the recappers for this series - I would not have understood so much of it w/o your help!! So to @red pill, @cassie, @girlfriday, and @javabeans, thanks for all your hard work on not only recapping but your ever witty commentary :) looking forward to the last 2!

long live Yummy+Moony <3 rawr

lol...I've totally done that marathon thing, with more dramas than I'd care to admit. :-p

You really liked City Hall? I never got around to watching that one...

@ hester

haha yes, City Hall was just one of the many I've done this with... it leads to many zombie-like workdays :T

I loved City Hall - it's really a gem that I think was way under-appreciated. CSW is beyond smexy and the chemistry he had with KSA... indescribable. a very enjoyable ride... just ask @ockoala :D

@ hester

beware.. it took me until ep 8 or so before i didn't want to drop kick Gookie.. but i kept at watching because of all the ravings from said poster and aforementioned poster... and then i absolutely LOVED the rest of the drama!!

the only dramas i semi-marathoned were YB and B&W. i could NOT get enough of those dramas.. it took a while for me to get over them ending.. heck, i've just recently gotten over YB because of MGiaG... which i have yet to finish. BOO!

@ twin
you didn't finish watching SKKS last night? i would have thought you would be done already. lol.

@ hester

my twin (@lb_tmi) has warned you fairly i guess. i personally never disliked Gookie - probably because i knew they were meant to be and there was a reason for all the madness lols.

Black & White (B&W) was another one I did that i regretted marathoning too because before i knew it, it was over :( ... omg the bromance in THAT one haha... not as 'obvious' as SKKS's but definitely took center stage over any of the leading ladies.

@ twin

can you please finish MGiaG already please? it's up fully subbed on dramafever :) so get on that!!!

and no i didn't finish watching SKKS... it's only subbed up to ep 18... i watched ep 19 raw and read the live recap on thundie's prattle to supplement my complete lack of knowledge of the korean language. that process takes twice as long to watch one ep btw haha. so by then i was way too tired to do that with ep 20 ha. figure i'll just wait till next week and rewatch 19 and 20 together... Yummy in ep 19 is super epic.... he's such a rockstar.

@ twin

but i just don't want MGiaG to end.. it hurts when dramas end. BOO!!! plus i can't this weekend (i still have one more project and midterm next week i should be studying for). but i will.. SOON. promise :)

CSW was all sorts of freaken HOT, but he was a jerk at the beginning, so it took a while for me to warm up to him, but i still thought he was hot the whole time. lol.

dude, i was super sad when MGiaG ended too... but i really liked the ending a lot. and it makes me want to rewatch the series soon... cuz i finally finished SKKS this weekend and need something else.

i think i'm going to watch Antique Bakery and Frozen Flower and Strongest Chil Woo now actually.. i need my Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki fix... STAT!!

0

I totally do that too... I always regret it the next day when I have to get up for class, but somehow I don't learn my lesson.

I was kicking myself for not taking it slower after the last episode of City Hall too. I have never felt the thrill of wanting to know what happens next so much with any other drama.

i have seen episodes 19 and 20 of SKKS, but still waiting for the ones with sub. watching the no-sub eps reminded me of my visit to Seoul last winter where I had conversations with a lot of locals in Korean (asking for directions, ordering food, etc.) and was amazed at how I got what they were saying, although I didn't understand word by word. can't wait for the eng sub episodes!

anyway. SKKS took me away a bit from the rom-com story that I am writing, which is about a star football player and a starting out diva - both still in college and attending the same school - who are in a Romeo VS. Juliet kind of situation. (Their families want them together, they would turn violent at each other when left to themselves.) and then someone put a spell on them which caused them to switch bodies, which is a problem more than the given, because the Romeo is about to be drafted into the professional league and the Juliet had just signed for a record deal with her girl group.

I used to have Jang Geun-Suk as my character inspiration for the Romeo, but has now switched to Song Joong-Ki, because I loved the way he handled the Yeo-rim character. And for the Juliet, Shin Min-Ah (GF is a Gumiho) is the character inspiration. It helps to have these people in mind while writing, because it makes the process more fun. :)

wow...SKKS withdrawal is pretty strong here...due to my 3 week hiatus..i have yet to catch up...i gues i should be caught up by the time subs for ep 20 are up somewhere...on a sadder note Life is Beautiful is also ending this week... along with SKKS, Dr Champ is rocking my life right now as well....i sincerely hope this doesnt go the path that the sports dramas of last year took (Dream, Triple) ...next week is going to be awsome!....Mary stayed out all night will be premiering....sigh i havent seen JGS on screen forever!!.....also Secret Garden will be premiering...all i can say is BINNIE!!....despite having my reservations on both dramas i might still watch for the actors

SKK Scandal has ended. Waiting patiently (er, sorta) for the English subs. Am so gonna miss the Jalgeum Quartet. Especially Yeorim. He really stole my heart. (Well, Jae-Shin is time-sharing it with him, hehehe).

I gotta come out and say I didn't have high hopes for this drama at first. I'm very, very wary of saeguks. Not being Korean, I'm always worried that half of it's going to be over my head and spoil the fun. A lot of the stuff in SKK was a bit of a question mark for me (a lot of the political stuff, like the factions) but that didn't stop me from having a fantastic time. So thank you, drama, and thanks for all the recappers for filling in the blanks.

I think on another thread, someone said they finally realized that Micky Yuchun was cute. Me too! I've seen him on and off (don't really listen to Kpop) in other places, but he always had some weird asymmetrical haircut that I found unflattering. He's smokin' in this drama though, to the point where if I see him in JYJ promotional stuff, I just wanna yell, get this man in a hanbok, STAT!

And Jae-shin - love the hair. Love the bracelet. Love the brooding. Love it all.

And Yeorim - just LOVE. :D

Yoon-hee deserves a shout-out too, for not being a simpering milk-and-water miss and being able to quote Confucius around the guys. You go girl!

Gonna miss this drama so much. Sigh. Well, Mary's coming, right? Gotta catch my bus!

Micky seem to me always that ehh kind of haircut, not the kind that Kpop idol usually has. I look at him in modern style cloth over and over again, wonder why so many people find him cute. Now, I can't help to agree with them. Micky is hot in Hanbok.

I am constantly torn between my love for JaeShin and Yeorim.. whenever one is onscreen, i pledge my undying love for them... and then the other one comes on and i find myself doing the same thing. it's probably another reason why i ship them together.

I think what's so great about Yummy+Moony is that they are polar opposites of each other and yet are BFFs. Yummy is pale pale milky white with impeccable fashion, a cheerful playboy and has an aversion to physical exertion. Then we have Moony who is dark and broody with a lil bit of facial fuzz (<3!!), couldn't care less about his clothes and can fight off 20 men at once, but hiccups when ladies are around. The hiccups have to be one of the cutest character traits i've ever seen, btw.

And yes, Micky is hot in a hanbok.

@lovency52

they all look hot in a hanbok! :))

I prefer Micky's hair pulled back - after comparing his SKKS look to his DBSK/JYJ photos. his face needs more exposure.

Yoo Ah In... he looks refreshing with his hair pulled back as well (and in a white, clean hanbok), but he has more appeal with the grungy look.

and Joon-Ki... I wonder if he can sport the grungy look like Yoo Ah In's Jae-shin.
