i've also been fightiing a dry cough for about a month. Can't get rid of the sucker.

Anyways, I've finally taken a day off on Saturday and although it's not a long weekend in Canada, I plan to attend a foodie festival and also catch the new Prince Caspian movie.

i caught the first episode of iljimae and it's a lot different than i thought. the beginning episode has the exact flashy concept of hong gil dong. with the same "i'm hong gil dong" attitude, substituting hong gil dong with iljimae. though i'm not into copycat dramas, i think i might stick around for this one.

Hope you feel better! My theory is that if you sound worse than you feel, then you're on your way to recovery! Atleast a holiday weekend means relaxation..mostly!

I'm going to try and explore my own city a bit. How is it that we don't do that unless we have guests? I'm going to try and do it in advance. And make plans to visit sunny cali :)

Any good movies out right now, btw? Anybody have any recommendations? I heard good things about Iron Man but I don't think thats my kind of movie.

i know what you mean by sick all week. i was so sick i couldn't get out of bed last weekend, got better, and caught another strain of the cold by first graders on wednesday. and. all the meds were expired of course. i hate that! so expensive too!!

Iron Man is really, really good.
I didn't think it was my kind of movie either. I know practically zip about Robert Downey Jr. except his rehab stints, but dang he was awesome.

It's so hot here. I'm practically washing my face every 10 minutes because I can feel the oil coagulating. eeewwww.

. . . Loving the Last Friends J-drama. It has some flaws, one especially severe (cartoony characterization of the main "baddie"), and its depiction of domestic violence can be hard to watch. (Which is to say, they've gotten it right. Episode 6 really nails down the "bird in the cage" frayed shell that happens after you've been beaten again and again and again . . .) But, it has also one of the most moving love stories I've seen in years. You just ache so badly for Ruka.

. . . Loving "Third" -- the new Portishead. Actually I'm more than loving it, this is definitely my favorite record this year and its use of Kraut, electroclash, garage guitar fuzz, Elephant 6 folk, Gawd knows what, is not only original, but clarifies the broken hotel essence of Portishead's body of work. Cat Power IDM.

my birthday's on sunday! suffice to say i'm still probably one of the younger readers on this site (turning 16).

i've been sick this week too, though i had been taking cold prevention medicine like crazy. i ended up losing my voice just in time for a round of graduation parties where i had to make squeaky conversation with strangers. fun.

ohhh. Iron Man is SOOO good. i highly recommend that movie. i'd watch it again in the theatre. i'm gonna see prince caspian this weekend because my husband is really excited about it. :-)

i hope you feel better javabeans. i hate it when i find out my meds are expired right when i need them. there was a time when i went to three different drugstores and the meds i needed were all expired! ugh.

when i get sick (not very often neither) i always think "i forgot it was so terrible to be sick". Therefore tell myself "should be happy when heathly and stop whining about the other stuffs like work, my boss,..."

i'm here in France, and these days all they talk about is Cannes festival. i never understood how they judge? the award goes to strange to stranger movies....
bored by all the "cultural" beat, i plan to go to the magic kingdom of mickey, eat some cotton candy, and try out the twilight zone and scream it all out. this can be a good way to evacuate all bad bugs inside!

Yeah I know what you mean...I'm not sick but I'm recovering from the shock and pain from having my wisdom tooth taken out.....there's like a big gap.....

Oh yes, Indiana Jones! I might go check that out if they're not all full. My brother and I are Narnia fans, so Prince Caspian might be on the list but the first one wasn't that great...I guess our imagination is usually better. Mostly I don't like adaptations of my favorite books. Except the new Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp was just so awesome and eccentric and weird that it was a whole new experience, not an adaptation. Loved that.

Pollen allergy came back with force today, but that's all right as it seemed to have been taking a vacation since last week so I could actually concentrate on studying and didn't have too much trouble during my first 3 exams :P Only one more left! Hopefully the pollen allergy will take another vacation then or I'll have to go get some medicine for it... pollen this year seems worse than previous years~ *sighs*
